Great Escapes Resorts

This resort is 12. 5km away from the city at a high and calm place. If you have a expert driver then sit tight, if you are driving by your own with not much of exp then please be careful while going to the resort from the main road. Last 50mt is full rough and driving will give a kind of experience as if you are driving on rocks. Once you reach at the gate the resort staff will help you and then welcome me with some kind of Ayurvedic drink. If you have kids and old person then be very careful because the cottages are located here and there and from reception to reach there. I won't suggest to walk as it is inclined and it's kind of going down in a high degree of angular path. But no need to worry for this as resort has their Jeep service they will help you reaching. Rooms are nice, beautiful and clean with all kind of facility. Cottages are provided with small extension outside with chairs to sit and enjoy the beauty. One thing they could have provide is room heater, when I asked for the same they told they do not have that facility but they can provide additional blanket. I went in May so, it was okay but in winter that will be indeed needed. Room service response is very good and foods are also tasty. You can have good view of the valley, if it will be cloudy then you can have very good experience. There is also a watch tower where you can climb to have view of valley. Particularly during night time the kind of sound of insects and birds outside will be all total of different experience. It may be scary but wonderful to enjoy as you wont get such experience in cities. You will really feel as if staying in jungle. Indeed once you are into the resort mean you have stay at room only. You wont be able to go out anywhere as near by you will not any shops or market as I mentioned above it is away. If you want enjoy a calm stay out of all kind noise and pollution then this will be a very good experience. Also, they have Ayurvedic massage center. Overall, it was pleasant experience staying at this resort.

The Great Escapes Resorts where is located there we won't get any shop or any bus stop. But when we are going for rest then we should choose that Great Escape resort. They have made some arrangement to see the hill view and scenery view. The Great Escapes Resorts is very good its much worth what we paid. Plan one day to stay in the Great Escapes Resorts there itself you can find much places for taking photo. When we are planning to stay buy needy items and you can enjoy very much stay in resort. The Great Escapes Resorts staff will arrange everything but you have to inform bit before like two or three hours before. We stayed in that Great Escapes Resorts for two nights and one day it was strike and lunar was closed, still we have enjoyed our stay in great escape as in Great Escapes Resorts they have many places for photo shot.

Due to landslide in Devikulam on national highway road was blocked from mMunnar to the resort, Great Escapes Resorts didn't informed about it in advance and we had to travel by 20-30 km extra on narrow Road. On reaching in resort Great Escapes Resorts staff upgraded our room to villa which were nicely located with proper spacing. Maintenance of the property a bit less but still the view is awesome. Don't expect any amenities outside the Great Escapes Resorts within few km s as the Great Escapes Resorts is far from the city to provide a clean and calm atmosphere.
View was awesome as we were upgraded to villa which were well located. As the Great Escapes Resorts is not in city you have to be in Great Escapes Resorts restaurant only to have food which doesn't provide a good number of menu items. Food is average.

It was a wonderful experience, staying close to nature, location was excellent but it is situated at around 20 kilometers from Munnar town. If we have a vehicle then location is not an issue as the scenic beauty is a must to try experience. The room service was good, Rooms lighting was very dull it needs to be improved, reception was good and the luggage was handled by the staff in their vehicle while check in and out so no issue in carrying luggage if not would have been a hardship due to the steep walk way and the damp weather conditions. Food was good but still scope to improve. The maintenance is good. Overall it was a good experience staying in this resort.

A resort 1650 ms above sea level. We were just floating in between clouds. We checked into a villa and view from balcony was awesome from there. The resort had built a viewpoint and what you see from there will be mesmerising. They have tried their best to retain all trees and have built the property. So, all together its a natural feeling. The sounds / songs from various birds were another great feeling. For people who are in search for luxury can avoid this resort. View - 5 stars. Room - 4 stars. Room Service - 5 Stars. Breakfast - 4 Stars. PS : Food at restaurant is very costly. They really need to work on it.

I had stayed with my family in this resort for 3 nights and 4 days. The first thing I liked to say about this resort is that people are really good and helpful. The resort environment is good. Though its located in the slanting ground, but Great Escapes Resorts management made sure no guest will have to face any issue in terms walking from the lower ground to high ground. Jeep and room service is always available. Food is really good. Special thanks Mr. Albert to help me in finding the different routes. We had stayed in Super Deluxe room. Room is neat and clean. Had a balcony with good view.

An awfully nice place to have a relaxed holiday . Very peaceful environment . Really best suited if one just wants to relax and refresh oneself . Facilities are good . Rooms are nice and clean . Staff is very cooperative and friendly. On of the best views in Munnar on the way to Great Escapes Resorts. Only disadvantage - it is located away from the Munnar main city and there is road construction happening on the way for which road authorities keep the road closed usually from 9 am to 6pm. Resort located in very good location ... If you have your own car better go with this. You won't get a resort in such a beautiful location for 2500/night .. Food was also decent. Only thing, it was raining and very cold during our stay and there won't be any room heaters, because of the voltage problems. But it is acceptable in such location, that managing voltage fluctuations will be difficult. They provided extra blanket. Going to Munnar with your car, no doubt. Blindly choose this resort.

Hotel is almost 13-15 km away from Munnar main town and it is on hill and the travel is very eye soothing (lash green tea garden). Resort is very much spacious, rooms size was big and well-kept, clean and overall, pleasant. The staff was nice, friendly, helpful, responsible and humble. Good view of the valley from the resort. Complementary break first was good. Food in the restaurant was good but little bit expensive. Few times take long time to provide power backup during power cut.

Tree top room is a great experience in itself. Very beautiful design both exterior and interior. Gels with surrounding nature. Food very good with real Kerala spices and all. Hotel location is breathtaking.

We had a good stay at hill country resort. Peaceful location. Buffet at breakfast was wide spread and authentic. Resort staff were helpful and there service was excellent. Overall nice place for peaceful vacation.

This resort is far from Munnar main city, it's in a nice calm and cozy place connected with nature and it's beauty. We stayed in the treehouse and it was an amazing experience I must say. The food and service is also good. Overall a good experience

Location is good nature friendly

The environment in July august and in November, December amazing the Great Escapes Resorts has a good view and it is on hill from Munnar to Great Escapes Resorts 14 km I loved more and more there and take a tree house or else honeymoon villa.

I have travelled with my Family. The location is bit far from Main city, but that's wat I was looking for. A very relaxed stay and amidst nature. Got very good dear from Makemy trip so definitely value for money. Good complimentary breakfast options

Excellent location, food are average, rooms are not up to marks, silent place far away from town, lot of areas inside the resort to enjoy the scenery, staff are friendly, viewpoints and tree house etc. Is good.

The route to the resort is a bit difficult. But they have an amazing set of staff which I would appreciate. The breakfast was awesome and the room was clean and had a really good ambience to stay. I booked for honeymoon suite and was really nice to stay there

Great resort style Great Escapes Resorts! View is amazing, rooms are clean and big, and the staff is friendly. The location is a bit far from Munnar through bad roads which are actively being constructed, but the Great Escapes Resorts is worth it. We would definitely stay again.

The location is excellent. The room and room service was great. Very nice for relaxation. The place is surrounded by trees and plants. Great place for nature lovers. One disadvantage is that it is far from town. Still it is great.
