Hampi's Boulders Resort

It was one of the best experience to live in the almost wilderness surrounded by boulders, forest and animals. We reached the property in the afternoon around 2 30 pm. The path to the place includes little bit offroading and narrow lanes which are better to be done in daylight. Car parking is available, little away from the reception but the resort staff bring a wheelbarrow to transport luggages. We were welcomed with a cooler when we finished the check in formalities. It is a huge open property with every cottage separated by a distance of at least 200m. The central stone cottage is the dining place which has limited menu but the food is delicious (like home made taste. Room comes with all basic amenities. There's no tv or wifi in the room (as it's literally in the forest. Most of the cottages have stunning views of the tungabhadra river. The place is so quiet that we could hear the river water gushing, various insects and birds and the creaking of pines and bamboos. Don't miss the evening walk for bird watching (there's a literal bird sanctuary hidden inside) through water bodies and the early morning trek to the riverside walking over the boulders. There's also a rock cut pool which maintains the warmth from the rocks late in the evening. This would be a great weekend getaway for the family especially the kids. Place is about an hour away from all the hots-pot attractions of hampi but this resort gives an amazing laid back vibe within the nature that it felt like we're in a tent in the wilderness.

We visited the boulder resort during over the Oct 2nd long weekend. This was a property I had my eyes on for a while and we finally decided to go for it given we were looking for a quiet stay away from crowd. I have been to Hampi twice before but this was a very different experience. As you start to get closer to the resort, the entire scenery changes - lot's of farms, Hampi's famous boulders, river flowing - you know you're approaching something amazing. As we reached, we were very courteously welcomed into the property, check in was smooth and were escorted to our designated cottage - Kuteer. This property has 2 types of rooms - Standard AC, A/C Deluxe river facing and Executive AC River facing (Star Cottage). If you're going for the base category room, be sure to request for Otter Cottage as it is the best one in base category and has a direct view/access to river. The staff was very polite and took great care of us during the stay. Because of the recent flooding in the Tugabhadra river, we could not go for the island walk which is a great attraction. We went for a casual trek along the river side, visited the sunset point in the property and had a very satisfying stay. Lunch is provided upon request and dinner is a buffet with a reasonable spread. I would highly recommend this property is you're looking for a unique experience. This is 25kms/1 hr away from main Hampi site which in my mind is the only downside.

Located on the bank of tungabhadra river. Although as the dam was not open it was not full flowing river. Luckily weather was cool n drizzled so it was cherry on the cake. As there is no network we could get to spend some we time away from city life n gadget life. You may not get room service even though you would like to sip tea looking at the river but the services n food were good & tasty. Rooms are good as well, it’s well maintained but as no room service no phone is kept. However due to major voltage fluctuations or ac stops working you can’t call immediately or anyone. So advise is when you check in take the number of the property manager in case of any emergencies. Over all for us it was a good experience. We had booked river side cottage. Food is buffet only n it’s reasonable as well. I recommend this place for one night if you need rest or break from city life. It’s not a party place ! no alcohol and no smoking allowed.

We had a one night stay at Hampis boulders resort star cottage. The cottage was like a mini castle with a fabulous view of the River. You can always See one or more crocodiles resting in the River banks from your cottage. Their natural Rock pool is amazing. The experience is one of its kind. However I would have liked some more facilities from the management Side. There is no intercom and there are no mobile signals in the area. The cottages are built so that each one is secluded. If there is an emergency with any guest there is no way you can ask for help without walking to the reception which again is 4-5 minutes walk. They should have an intercom. The food was homely but there were not a lot of choices. The rooms are a bit costly. I would personally suggest to go at least once to the resort to experience the nature the way this resort offers. You can yourself decide for the second visit.

Great location by the river. We got a river front room and it felt like we could just listen and watch for ever. Very serene. Room was very well appointed with all the necessary comforts. Being so close to nature in comfortable air confitioned was awesome. Add to this the phenomenal service! smiling helpers like manju everywhere. Abhilash and amit run a very courteous and pleasant office. We went in may because that was our only available time. Temperatures were hitting 102(39c) daily. We did our visits around dawn. The staff were so accommodating by making us sandwiches and fruits that we could put in the fridge the night before! similarly when tgey found out we were checking out dawn to hit chtradurga on the way out. They showed up at dawn to take our luggage to the car! man this is 7* service. I think we picked a not great time for hampi but these guys helped make it really good.

Likes: the location is very beautiful and secluded; right on the shores of Tungabhadra. The river view cottages are the real deal, has a stupendous view of the river. The staff is very courteous the room had a rustic setting with period furniture. The mattress was comfortable. The breakfast was nice and simple, good to see fresh orange juice being served! dislikes: very very expensive! even after paying for a night, the lunch & dinner has to pay. Even that tariff was after discounts, a cottage should be independent, but the review view crocodile cottages are 3 rooms in one cottage, so no privacy ! dinner was 500/head and not even worth half of that. The spread was very mediocre (roti, 1 veg & non-veg gravy, veg pulav, rice, sambar, fish fry and few accompaniments ) that's it.

Stayed from 25-28 jun e 2022. Approach road is very narrow and unsurfaced. Will be difficult to reach if not travel-ling in private vehicle. It’s a secluded property about 35 km from hampi ruins. There are just 16 cottages in 20 acres of land. The property is well designed in harmony with the natural rock boulders in the area. Rooms are spacious but no tv, intercom, room service, wi-fi. The property even has mobile network connectivity issues. So carry enough cash, card/ wallet payment might be difficult. Very limited buffet meal options. The treks organised by the resort are very good and worth the hike. They have a private island, small water fall and a sunset point. These are part of the package. They even have a jeep safari and coracle ride which are paid offerings.

We visited the resort on January 2020. The Resort was away from the city which gives you the feeling of closeness to the nature. The cottage we were staying was very clean and neat and could hear the gushing sound of water all the time. The staff was very helpful and friendly. As they don't have lunch facility they arranged us for it on our demand. The dinner and breakfast is available both veg and nonveg which was very good. The best attraction was the bamboo bridge walk which leads to the caves n boulder castle towards the other side of the river. It won't be available from August to October as the water level will be too high. All together a best place to spend with your family in peace.

Had a memorable stay with lot of memories.

Amazing location, well-maintained, polite and helpful staff, cottages were nicely made on boulders, delicious food. Loved the evening and morning short excursions, swimming pool too well maintained and in nature nicely built on rocks. All in all worth the stay and price.

The resort is very unique. You can easily spent full two days in exploring the resort itself. Food and other things are normal not too bad nor great.

It was a great experience. Good trails to walk and explore near buy. Rooms were clean. Staff is very cooperative and friendly. Only area of improvement is the food. The food could have been better.

If you want to spend quality time with your partner or family without any distraction and with nature then this is the go to place. Images shown are very underrated. You literally stay with the nature and facing the thungabadra stream

It was a good stay in hampi boulders and cleanliness is maintained vey well and we opted for river view cottage and view from the room is beautiful and we enjoyed our stay and food was ok ok. Swimming pool is well maintained and overall experience is good and could have been excellent if the food was nice
