Heevan Houseboat

This was my 2nd time coming to Kashmir and I must admit this was the best of the lot. Everyone has this wish to stay in a househoat when they visit Srinagar and everyone deserves the best stay. You very well know it could be your once in a lifetime experience so you do everything to make it the best you can. And this was my aim when.I was searching for a good houseboat acco for my family. My parents are old and I had to thus search for a houseboat which has all basic amenities covered at a decent rate along with making sure the view from the houseboat is breathtaking. This last point was very important. After a thorough research I stumbled across Heevan Houseboat group and I was awestruck by the ambience and amenities. It had a private gazebo sort of a thing overlooking the mountain ranges. The dal lake during sunset was magnificent to marvel at. And the food ❤️! I was really sceptical at first but the food was really amazing- hot and homely! But the best part has to be the hospitality. You can’t really put a price to it. Yasin and his father treated us like family. My mom and dad spent hours talking to them. Abdul ji, boat keeper, took good care of us. Overall it was some of my best time spent in Kashmir. If you are looking for one, I’d say look no further.

The location of heevan houseboat couldn't have been better. You have to take shikara from ghat no. 19 to reach there. Taking from ghat to houseboat and dropping back at ghat is complimentary from this ghat. The owner can book your shikara rides in the dal with minimum amount. The houseboat boasts an amazing view of shankaracharya temple and mountain from its front. You can spend your evening at the portico on the comfortable chair chilling. Siraj, the caretaker of the boat was superb in taking care of guests. He provided us with playing cards as some of us wanted to play. Food served were delicious. You can ask suraj beforehand for the food you would like to have and he will cook the same. Order your dinner in the afternoon so that he can procure the items before evening. Proper hygiene was maintained in the rooms with neat and clean bathrooms. I would recommend you have an experience of this houseboat.

Heevan Deluxe Houseboats are located in a picturesque location on Dal lake away from the crowds. The houseboat is beautiful & well maintained. The rooms are large, clean and private bathroom included. There is a sun deck attached to the houseboat. The staff are polite and well spoken. The butter tea is a must try, however the breakfast was only average. They could improve their menu and taste for breakfast. We did not have any other meals there. You can have barbequed fish, mutton & chicken on the deck provided by a local arranged by staff on request for a nominal fee of 500rs per plate. It is very tasty and one should definitely give it a try as well. Be wary of locals selling flowers, jewelry & dry fruits, kahwa, saffron etc on shikaras. They price their items atleast 40-50 %higher and thus bargaining is a must with them. Conclusion: Definitely spend atleast a night or two on the houseboat.

We had a very comfortable stay at heevan houseboat for 3 nights. It was a totally new experience staying inside a houseboat from which one can have a stunning view of the famous dal lake as well as the mountains. The rooms were clean and had very good wi-fi connectivity! (this was unexpected) the hospitality was good and the nice homely food at a very reasonable price could be a good reason to stay here. Recommended for tourists looking for a unique experience. A few things can be improved like lighting inside rooms and perhaps there is a little variety on the breakfast menu. Also, the shikara ride to the ghat from the boat and return every time involves some money which maybe the boat management should arrange for all guests. Overall, it was an experience of a lifetime and highly recommended for tourists.

Overall experience at heevan feeling to at this houseboat is good. Interiors and accommodation are excellent. Expecting bit more in customer connects and priority services. I arrive kashmir at around 08:30 pm with my family and two small kids and tried contacting houseboat number and got the response that you are late and no sikara is available now and you have to manage your stay now, it was very surprising and horrible for me as this city was unknown and i have two small kids with me. After several request they have arranged a sikara in next 45 minutes and i have to pay for them although it was included.

Highly recommend, superb experience. A must visit kind of place and only boat house shall be opted for one to enjoy this place, and i am sure that this is the best houseboat in dal lake, it was great, very good value for money with food included. The food was so tasty, well cooked and served a great experience. Houseboat manager shaireez khan ensured to provide all the amenities to us and was very friendly and very informative, i am very much satisfied with heevan houseboat. Thank you so much for unique experience, will definitely visit again.

We reached pretty late around 8pm due traffic logjam on nh-44. But, the stay was absolutely exquisite. The rooms were pretty big & the bed easily accommodated 3 adults. The owner & the staff were very hospitable and took care as per the kashmiri tradition. The 1 hr shikara ride in the morning on the dal lake (we had to dish out 800- for the trip, thanks to the mediation by the owner. The food was average but it didn’t bother us much since the other experiences including spending the night in a houseboat was adventurous

The stay was quite content and comfortable, staff was nice and the owner too made sure we have all good things on time, punctuality is what they truly maintained. The only irritating part was the shikara transfers where the shikara walas would ask for tips even though our transfers were free ( this is non controllable at the Heevan Houseboats part) this i am putting in jfyi. But only saying about the house boat it was pretty traditional and nice. Overall good experience

Awesome location and very luxury rooms. Budget friendly. Suraj bhai was very helpful. We have done lot of photography. Very relaxing and cool calm place. Foods were awesome.

We just wanted to experience a house boat stay so booked the houseboat only for one night but after staying here for a night we wished we had booked our entire stay at srinagar here. Special mention to wonderful host mr. Khan who happens to the manager there. The warmth & hospitality shown by these wonderful people are unparalleled.

It was a very good location, service was good, very nice to have hot water at very early morning. Provided good food.

The stay was comfortable. The host and the other person assisting him were very warm and genuine. The food was simple but delicious. The toilets had some hot water issue and didn't have toiletries but they took care of it. There was noone in the morning the next day, which was a let down since we couldn't get tea or water in the morning. But it's a well maintained property in a very good location.

It was awesome stay at heevan houseboat. Staff is very courteous. Kashmir is known for its hospitality so heevan proved it right. Owner visit to check every is ok and check guest needs is wonderful step. Only thing i don't like is food specially breakfast.

I spent 1 day with my family in the houseboat after finishing my trip to other places. Sonemarg, pahalgam etc. And all of us (me & my 2 kids) except my wife fell sick(food poisoning. Got tremendous support from them (parvez jee and others. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

I was a pleasure to stay at jeevan houseboat. The. Hospitality, rooms, decor was awesome. Best part it stay in houseboat feels like a suite of any Heevan Houseboat. Sunrise and sunset view from houseboat deck was awesome. Highly recommended.

I think it is one if the best house boat.

Friendly staff, cozy place and great food makes this place an all rounder in srinagar houseboats experience. Great views and not that much crowds too.
