Located in Rajasthan's heartland Ajmer is a little town with a fascinating history. In today's world, the district's rising features of growth and development in areas such as culture, education, state, and privately-owned industrial and infrastructure facilities coalesce to pique interest in trade tourism and investments. Ajmer, with its historic places, is a crowded tourist attraction. There are several hotels in Ajmer which are luxury places for a perfect vacation.

The medieval city of Ajmer, a verdant oasis surrounded by barren hills created by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan in the 7th century AD, is located in a lovely valley surrounded by the hills of the Aravali Range. Ajmer gets its name from the formidable peak known as 'Ajay Meru.' Taragarh, India's first hill fort, was built there, and the Chauhan clan's power centre remained there.

Ajmer is still a major pilgrimage destination for Hindus and Muslims hundreds of years later. As the ultimate resting site of Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti, a famous Sufi saint. Muslims from all over the world venerate the Dargah Sharif, which is equally revered by Hindus and Muslims in the area where the saint is buried.

Ajmer is also where a 14-kilometre journey to Pushkar begins. The Pushkar Lake, Lord Brahma's seat, is a sacred site for Hindus who take a dip there, especially in the month of Karthik, and are said to be spiritually motivated.

As a result, Ajmer is an ideal location for demonstrating Indian culture and ethics and displaying a perfect blend of many religions, communities, cultures, linguistics, and so on, all coexisting and flourishing in peace and harmony. Several communities, including Gujarati, Marathi, Malayali, and other south Indian communities, Sikh, Catholics, Parsi, and others, live alongside local Hindus and Muslims. Ajmer was historically a centrally administered state.

 

Tourist Attractions in Ajmer

The most popular location among the many sites to visit near Ajmer is Pushkar, which is around 14 kilometres away. Pushkar is a Hindu pilgrimage site. Pushkar is home to the only known temple devoted to Lord Brahma, and Hindus go to the city in huge numbers during the month of Karthik to bathe in the sacred Sarovar. During this season, the hotels in Ajmer are lashed with a heavy crowd, and discounts are rarely available.

Lake Foy Sagar, an artificial lake near Ajmer, is another tourist attraction worth visiting. In 1892 AD, English Engineer Mr. Foy constructed the lake.
