Hostel Gandhi

As a first time hosteler, i wanted to experience the hostel life but looking at the timing restrictions to come at night, cell phone usage only at the balcony or terrace and timings for ac i. E. From evening 7 to morning 7 i was taken aback. The restroom lacked cleanliness as there was hair, dirty & soapy racks, scales on tiles and unclean mirror. Covid protocols of temperature check at the entrance wasn't followed and sanitisation is something that i haven't seen in action at least not till the time i was there in the evening & for a short while in the morning. The room/s were smelly as well. Lastly, there cats roaming freely which may or may not be liked by everyone if they're not a cat person, at least i'm not. I believe i should have read the description in detail and thoroughly before venturing. Anyways, not a great experience than meeting some nice folks who unfortunately were complaining as well. It's a tough time for Hostel Gandhis as rhe business is hit, i wish the folks here do some relaxation in rules and get the hk in place then it'll be a nice place to crash, stay and meet new folks on your journey.

I had an incredible two-week stay at the hostel gandhi. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a comfortable experience from start to finish. The facilities were well-maintained, and the hostel's sense of community made it easy to meet others. The location of the hostel was also ideal, located as it is near little mount metro station. The area is vibrant and lively, with easy access to public transportation and restaurants. Additionally, the place is great value for money. The rates are reasonable, especially considering the amenities and services provided. If you're looking for home-cooked meals, there's an affordable option available for that, too - along with the provision to cook small meals for yourself, if you fancy. Plus, the place has the presence of wonderful cats that added an extra touch of joy to my stay. Highly recommended!

Finding location - it was close to the metro station, but had difficulty in finding the lane. Host didn't take my call at night to help me find directions. They could have mentioned it with the mosque name board placed in the beginning of lane. Experience 1. Host was friendly at the place with a positive smile. 2. Reception is in the first floor. Rooms allotted were in second floor. Cctv is available in the spaces, not in bedroom, i think. 3. Neat dorm rooms (steel dorm beds) with provided a cotton blanket. 4. Bathrooms are well neatly maintained. Also has a water heater. 5. You may also find pets of inmates. 6. Drinking water is available in can. 7. Air condition was at 23. It is available at night. 8. It has availability of zomato. They find us easier. I had been there from 11pm to 7am. This is my experience in less time.

My stay was quite long. But in the course, I stayed the experience was more than amazing. I have new friends now and the staff was humble. It had a more kind of homely experience, which made it best for me. It is located near little mount metro station and you have 2-3 bis stands, from where the commune is easy. Abiding to few ground rules, you will be provided with safety, privacy and a homely environment. It could be a little difficult to find it for the first time, but it is easy for the second. I could suggest the hostel staff, it would be better if they could have a display near the entrance of mosque lane and near the hostel gate. Overall it is an awesome experience, i wish all solo travelers like me could enjoy the stay at gandhi hostel.

The hostel was very clean and well-maintained. It is a safe option especially for girls women. The room had everything that we needed, including comfortable beds, ac, and clean linens. The bathroom was also clean with hot water facility. The common areas were also very nice, giving a homely atmosphere. Overall, i would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay. The kindness and hospitality of kishore truly made all the difference, and i would certainly stay here again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Hostel gandhi is my regular place to stay whenever i visit chennai. If you are a solo traveler and don't mind sleeping in bunk beds, then hostel gandhi is the right place. Maintenance is good. It's an old house re-purposed as hostel. Not flashy and hifi but friendly place. If you expect falshy place with all amenities like Hostel Gandhi rooms, not this but any hostels may not be the right place. I recommended hostel gandhi.

The rooms are fine with bed are okay. Overall a good place to stay because the little mount metro station is just 100 m walk which is very convinient. Easy going environment with good host. And the rooftop is a good place to spend the afternoon. Just a heads up if you have an early train or bus tell the host beforehand as the lock the doors after 11pm and only open after 6am when they wake up.

It's very good & comfortable atmosphere, which is one of the main thing for traveller. Yes the location is not easy, but i highly recommend because for me as a solo /traveller atmosphere / comfortable/ cleanness is 1st priority. & this hostel serve all this at once. I was only for 1 night so no food experience. Jenish brother caretaker you're a gem. I'll visit again in future.

It is very near to little Mount metro Station. In a walkable distance. Maintain in a very clean and hygiene place. It's a budget travelers recommended.

Wonderful property ambiance. Amazing hospitality and services. They've provided a clean and comfortable room. Food was good in quality. Facilities were up to the mark. Property was value for money and recommended.

Good ambience, very friendly atmosphere and a budget friendly option for backpackers. You can also get well cooked home style meals at a dirt cheap price. Would recommend to everyone planning to make a low budget stay in chennai for short or long duration.

It was a good hostel with a good host. I enjoyed my staying and decided to stay for one more night. Everything is good so far. A good budget hostel. It's the balcony at the second floor

If you're looking for a budget hostel to stay for few days, then go for it. Centre of the city to connect with any part of chennai. Metro is walkable.
