Stayed in room 201 for 6 nights. The Hostel Mantra | Private Rooms & Dorms/hostel has recently undergone renovation and a name change, which made it difficult to find on google maps and even the link sent by the booking website was wrong. Check-in was relatively straightforward as I had already booked online and I was taken to my dorm and shown around the building by one of the staff. The interior of the building looks amazing, like a nicely decorated house. The room was a 4 bed dorm with 2 bunk beds. The room was very clean, has a sitting area next to the windows and an ensuite bathroom. The bunk beds are arrayed against two of the walls, next to each other. Underneath the lower bunk beds are two slide-out lockers with plenty of space for all but the biggest backpacks. The beds are wooden, but not the flimsy wooden frames that shake with every movement. Very firm and I was never woken by my bunkmate. The mattress was thick, firm and incredibly comfortable. The blanket was too thin for the winter weather, although I just folded the blanket and that worked fine for me. Each bunk came with two electrical sockets and a personal light. The lower bunks have privacy curtains, but oddly the upper bunk did not. The staff clean the floors and the bathroom every day, so everything is nice and clean. There is hot water 24 hours a day, which surprisingly includes the washbasin as well. The room came with breakfast which is served on the rooftop. From the roof top are incredible views of Lake Pichola. The views are amazing both night and day. Breakfast is fairly simple serving chai, cornflakes, toast, boiled eggs and fruits. It was fine for a few days but got a little tedious because I was staying for 6. Each evening, the staff invites you to the rooftop to watch the sunset over a cup of chai. Which really sums up the service at Hostel Mantra. The staff does everything to make your stay enjoyable and memorable. Overall I had a great stay and would not hesitate to stay again the next time I’m in Udaipur.

I stayed in hostel mantra for 10 days and enjoyed every single bit of this place! Run by two avid travelers, bhushan and ashish, this haveli turned hostel is the perfect break from typical commercial and habits filled hostels. Right from the decor of the hostel to the vibes paired with beautiful view of lake pichola - it's a perfect stay. Location - situated right across the market. You will find everything you need at an arm length distance. Just a couple minute walk if you want to go to the other side of the lake. Jagdish mandir is right besides the hostel. Even the city palace is 4-5 minutes from the hostel. There are good cafes too within 2-3 minutes walk. Bed - the only hostel I have stayed so far which had wooden bunk beds and that too beautifully made. Very clean rooms and cleaned regularly. Bathroom is attached to dorms and has hot water too. Rooftop one of the most beautiful rooftop view I saw in Udaipur was right from this hostel. You can enjoy morning breakfast with a beautiful view of lake pichola, taj property and jag mandir. Do not miss the sunset, it's beyond amazing. If the sky is clear, you will spot a few stars too. People and vibes i met people from all over the world in this hostel. Every evening we had some or the other activities going on, karaoke, board games, cards, music, and dance each evening was unique and fun. Cultural exchanges was truly rewarding too. Overall, my experience at hostel mantra was amazing! I am hoping to come back soon.

After a long time being at home, I finally decided to travel and Udaipur seemed to be a decent choice as the cases there are quite less. My friend had suggested Hostel Mantra and hyped it for me to a great extent. I must say, the hype was all worth it. It was my first hostel experience and I didn't know what to expect. And now I wonder, why I ever chose Hostel Mantra | Private Rooms & Dormss over hostels. The vibes here eere crazy good. The rooftop quickly became a place I found peace and tranquility on. Clean rooms, artistic architecture and friendly staff- it was amazing experience altogether. I met some amazing people and now are permanently on my friends list. Had super fun exploring Udaipur too. This place will always be my go-to place when I come back to Udaipur. Recommending both, Udaipur and Hostel Mantra to all fellow travelers 👍🏻

I recently had the pleasure of staying at hostel mantra during my vacation to udaipur and i must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish i even exceeded my stay for two more days. Being a solo female traveller i have never felt this safe before. Everyone is just so generous there dwisha, aman, vineet. These people will help you in every possible manner. A special shout-out for dwisha for helping me so much. The hostel's dorms, washrooms, rooftop, everything is clean. Even if you have an early morning arrival you can chill in the common area till you get your bed. It's very comfortable there. The hostel also organizes many activities for all the travellers. The location is close to all the major attractions. Whatever the issue is you just need to call them and everything will be sorted.

I had booked 3 days stay in a 4-bed mixed dorm and 1 day in a deluxe double room. This ended up to be the best 4 days in my week long rajasthan trip. The location of the hostel is spot on, the rooftop view is one of the best around the city with city palace and lake pichola right before your eyes. (sunset view and the vibe is to die for) they have an amazing menu in their rooftop cafe and ashish makes sure that every evening you spend there is a memorable one. (poker nights, karaoke night, u no and what not) ashish and the team truly goes the extra mile to make sure you feel at home, and you'll definitely want to be back here sometime soon. Met some amazing people here during my stay. In all this place and the people will certainly be in your heart forever.

Words will fall short and I might ending up writing a whole chapter about this place. The best host amazing staff and super delicious food along with a great view. Highly recommended for anyone coming to Udaipur. I stayed at hostel Mantra for 2 days. The view is amazing from the rooftop and room. It's location is perfect in matter of visiting all city attractions. It was a very different experience in itself. Hosts -Ashish and Rutu & receptionist apoorva mam are amazing. make you feel so comfortable. You meet so many new and different ppl. u can chill with them. They recommend you amazing places around the city according to your age group. Do take their suggestions. I carried back so many memories. I will love to come back for a stay there. 😍📍👍💫

This hostel is rooms are very clean & good & very comfortable & specially we get lake view room so it's so amazing the staff at this property are all great! they are too comfortable we just don't feel that we are meeting for the first time the food is also too good & the service is also amazing & this place is so nice. Cafe is at terrace so we can enjoy our meal with a great view of lake sunset view is worth watching here at terrace & they also plan sunrise trip for us to hove a great udaipur sunrise view with morning tea & breakfast overall experience is too good i will personally suggest to plan your stay here with friends & family

Goes without saying that view from the roof top is nothing less than excellent but the staff is also very friendly. The rooms are neat and clean. The vibe is what makes a big difference. Wifi works almost perfectly which is rare but extremely crucial if you are planning to work from here. They have nice secluded spaces to take work remotely. The cafe is average. It's within walking distance but major tourist attractions. I would definitely recommend this trying at least once. Doesn't have a lift so not advisable for old people or specially-abled individuals.

I had a great time staying here. The hostel was clean and rooms very cozy. The bunk beds are very comfortable and sturdy. I met many people in the common area and had lot of fun playing board games with others. Will definitely recommend it to my friends and will surely visit again soon.

The hygiene and sanitation were really amazing at the property. It is definitely value for money. The food at the rooftop cafe is also amazing and the cherry on the cake is the view. As it's a hostel so they do have gate closing time but it's not to early that you'd miss out the fun. The people on property are also very helpful.

Absolutely the best hostel during these forty days in India. The staff is super nice and friendly, everything is clean and there is hot water, you will attend breakfast and chai time go to rooftop where you will have a super view on the lake. The hostel is hosted inside a beautiful Indian palace, you can easily reach the Udaipur top sights, there's a cooking school on the first floor and it was always nice to have a look inside me during cooking classes.

I was amazed to see that Hostel Mantra | Private Rooms & Dorms converted to a hostel with bunk beds and also served breakfast in the same tariff. The person who ran it was a young dynamic entrepreneur. He also ensures a warm and friendly welcome to all the guests. They also served a complimentary evening tea in the chill-out zone. c

Great location to both meet new people as also walk around the old city. Did a early morning ride to bad a talaab with a bunch of people. All the hosts were really nice. Of-course with an equal mix of conversation + being lost in their phones )

Although a hostel, it made provided privacy for individual. Received a warm welcome and had a good time connecting with people and of course, the quality service is assured.
