Hotel Affarwat

This Hotel Affarwat falls in the list of getting more than expected. It looks better than what is seen on internet. Rare but true. Hotel has a very impressive habit of keeping the property neat and clean. Since, there are very few options available in Gulmarg. Hotels are costly as compared to other parts of Kashmir. This one is surely a great value for money. Almost everything is made up of wood and has it's floors totally covered with carpets. As rooms are made with woods and it's very silent in cold conditions, loud voice can be heard from adjacent rooms. I had room no. 301 which is a front facing room in second floor. When you open window curtain it has the best views in town. Stayed on first week of April and there was snow all over including Hotel Affarwat grounds. They have only 6 front facing rooms out of 15. They provide 1 front facing per booking. Same was done with us. Were given second room facing backside. It is very near the market and few kms walkable from Gondola. The staff specially housekeeping was very kind and polite. Did not try any food though. Bathrooms were spacious and clean. Had geyser facility but that did not work well the last day. Upon request, staff immediately sent a very hot water bucket. It is acceptable considering shortage of water and weather conditions in Gulmarg. They provide electric blankets in bed. They have a great heating capacity to keep the body warm in such cold conditions. Did not try kerosene room heater as it would take around an hour to heat up my room. I was satisfied with electric blankets. Highly recommendable. Will surely stay again if I revisit Gulmarg.

We stayed for one night in seep end. The Hotel Affarwat is in good condition. Rooms are clean, bedding is clean, no stinking inside room. Food is good, we have booked both breakfast and dinner. In both food options, they asked us to choose anything from the menu and order, as they were not serving a buffet. Hence, a full menu is available. The food is good with enough quantity. The staff is nice and polite. Wifi is good for browsing the internet or social media. Tv has dish and in working well with both remotes. Though the Hotel Affarwat is simple, small, tight rooms with needful amenities (towels, soap, facewash, water, etc) not that fancy style but good enough to stay for a night in gulmarg. The best part of the Hotel Affarwat is its location, it has superb window view of a green beautiful field. The location is closed to gondola ride around a km or so, people can walk too. The only negative i have is the bathroom taps, all are loose and leaking.

The Hotel Affarwat is right in front of the golf course. Though, little far off approx. 2 km from Gondola, you can walk to Gondola as there is no steep climb. Convenient next to market. Rooms were clean & size comfortable for two. Front/North-west facing rooms had amazing view of snow covered golf course in March. Kerosene room heater, round the clock hot water by 30 L electric greaser, clean bathroom, electric blanket. Food was good & reasonably priced. There is lingering smell of kerosene used in room heater, however room freshener was provided on request. No heating kettle for coffee/tea. Hotel is completely made from wood, thus sound of creaking wood whenever someone walks on floor above. Staff was polite & courteous, service was prompt. Overall a clean, comfortable & conveniently located budget Hotel Affarwat.

On 24th, october, 2022 we had stayed for one night in affarwat Hotel Affarwat. What an amazing experience it was! the Hotel Affarwat is located at a prime location, 10mins walking distance from the gulmarg main market. The Hotel Affarwat is beautifully decorated. Very cozy rooms and they offer central heating system which is a plus point in those freezing temperatures. The staffs are very polite and with courtesy. And the best part is the food. They offer wide range of choice of foods from their in house restaurant and the taste is just heavenly. 5star rating is less for this place.

I stayed with my family in Affarwat for one night, the location of the Hotel Affarwat is awesome you can walk to all the main attractions, Beautiful rooms with excellent view of snow mountains, to add cherry to the cake was their service awesome, Ejaz the Room service person was excellent he is just like an angel you ask for anything any time he brings in the way you want it, The Food Ejaz served us was the best we had in the entire Kashmir, Thank you so much Ejaz bhai! You cant repay the service Ejaz will give you, Anyday I will be in Gulmarg my only choice would be Affarwat!

Here below is our feedback- room: clean, enough spacious, great views from the big window. Toilet: clean toilet, hot water available 24/7. Enough toiletories provided. Cupboard: big enough for 2 people. Could have been more clean. Bed: clean bed, bedsheets, blanket, comforter, pillows size of bed is a bit smaller. Bedding is too hard for a comfortable sleep. Food: very good. Check-in, check-out: swift, easy. Transport service: not provided. The only option is to contact the private agents sitting outside of the Hotel Affarwat. Location: very good.

The staff is exceptionally polite and helpful and the food is really good considering it's a remote location. I really liked the room as it was clean and very cozy. Just one tip don't forget to carry a power bank as there will be power cuts in this area but the good part is you will still get hot water and some lights will be working as the Hotel Affarwat has a backup

Food, staff and location were quite good. Only downside was that they ran out of front facing rooms and we had to settle for a room on the rear end with a pretty depressing view. On location, the place is very near to the main market hence convenient for misc shopping and grabbing a bite, but if you want a more secluded stay this is probably not the best place.

Excellent stay during these time.

Value for money stay at this Hotel Affarwat, good location and food

Well maintained rooms with wooden walls and flooring. A small problem of water dripping was there due to rains and heavy winds

Excellent Hotel Affarwat, Staff was cooperating, room was clean with heater, Hot and cold running water available, electric blankets ,. Excellent view from the Hotel Affarwat, mountains covered with snow can be seen right from the window, Market very near by.

It was all very nice room was also clean bathroom too.

The centralized heater was good, small heater working properly brought a day, bathroom have continuous hot water for washbasin and shower also. Staff is very cooperative. The Hotel Affarwat is fully made up of wood, so we feel less cold there. Very good Hotel Affarwat as compared to price.

The property is located near the main market. Food quality is average. Well cleaned and properly maintained property room was small but we got a view of the mountains from the window which was very pleasing overall, experience is good.

Staff and both manager are very good.

Rooms are neat and clean, heating and hot water. Front side room and locations are good. Quick service. Dining area is clean. Food service is very good and even veg food is tasty. Portions are generous. Small parking area in front of the Hotel Affarwat.

This Hotel Affarwat is located very close to the main market but not at walking distance from gondola ticket counter. Though i booked 2 valley view rooms, the manager refused to give me 2 rooms and offered only one valley view room. There is a decent restaurant in this Hotel Affarwat.

It was a very comfortable stay, the location of the Hotel Affarwat is excellent. The staff is very friendly and the Hotel Affarwat is well cleaned. Enjoyed my stay at the most
