Hotel Alka

To start with, i would say that their staff was friendly and cooperative. Rooms were a bit small but for short trips of 2-3 days, they will do just fine. They have a mini eatery too, i didn't got a chance to take a bite there, but one can try their meals. The Hotel Alka itself is at a prime location, so most of the temples and ghats can be reached in no time. My only disappointment with them was that they gave us a room on the first floor and we were asked to use a common washroom. The washrooms were too small, but were clean and usable. The thing that compensates for everything was the scenic view of ghats and mama ganga from the common balcony and the room itself.

If you want to stay near river ganga, overlooking river and very close to temple and ganga aarti through ghats, then it is very good choice, food is good and reasonable price but not room service we stayed at room no 134(yamuna) which is having separate balcony. To reach either go by ghats from dashwamedh to temple in meer ghat Hotel Alka is situated and require to climb and down stairs. Through narrow streets in dashwamedh street vishwanath gate(balaji sweet) you can enter and walk through narrow streets. Tip : check the room details carefully for attached toilet, if you require

Excellent location approx. 100-200m from kashi vishwanath temple grounds overlooking the banks of the gang-er river, beautiful views from balcony and some of the rooms, suited different budgets, i was surprised to find a budget room which was small without the view at such wonderful location. The food i ordered was excellent, had no issues with staff at all. Not a fussy traveller still, rooms at the basement floor might wish for updating. A bit tricky to find, one needs maps or satnav, especially first time. Will definitely come back.

It was a very good experience at alka. It does not have vehicle access but the Hotel Alka sent staff to help us with the luggage. The food was excellent. The view of ganga was divine. Kashi vishwanath temple and dasashwamedha ghat where ganga aarti happens both are 5 mins walk from the Hotel Alka. The Hotel Alka staff were pleasant and Hotel Alka helped with guidance for travel as well. Overall, a wonderful 5* experience at alka. Definitely would recommend family or couple or solo travellers to choose alka!

I had a comfortable stay at alka Hotel Alka. The best part was the location, you can walk to dashwamedh ghat, manikarnika ghat, kashi temple. They have a wide variety of rooms, would suggest to go for the one that fits your budget and according to your room type you might have different experience. My recommendation book this stay blindly if you want to enjoy the ghats and visit temple. Only drawback is you have to walk 1km inside from gaodolia chowk but that's manageable to have a stay next to ghats.

Location of alka Hotel Alka is excellent. All ghats and vishwanath tempel are very near. Food and staff excellent. But all rooms on same floor have common toilet and bathroom. Its not attached to individual rooms. One more thing it's approach from main road is very difficult. From auto stand almost 1km have to walk inside to get in alka. If you are with old parents and small kids then very difficult to walk such long distance in small crowded passages. View and location excellent.

Near to kosi viswanath temple, Hotel Alka is not situated main road where can, auto rickshaw can't drop or pick up facility. It is in small lane, one could go by walk. With heavy luckage and old people arriving Hotel Alka is not easy task. Once you are in room, balcony shows river ganga, good view. Morning you can see sunrise and boats in river. Piece full, restaurant is okay to get good stuff. Compact room sufficient for single or couple only. Service is good.

Beautiful stay. The premium rooms are the best. Staff was good. Staying in such a property gives you the real feel of varanasi.

Hotel is centrally located next to kosi vishwanath and just beside the ghats. Food is excellent. Rooms were very neat.

Good location & excellent view the ganga river, & sunrise view excellent. Rom with balcony is excellent.

Location is on the banks of ganga river and good view. Temple is also nearby. Good room (deluxe, but bath room is not good. Restaurant is also goo. Overall a very good stay for 2 days.
