Hotel Celeste

I reached Hotel Celeste on 2nd Jan at 6:45AM, 5 hours before my scheduled arrival but even then they allowed to checkin my room just by charging Rs 500 as pre checkin charges (quite reasonable in a city like Mumbai). I enquired other Hotel Celestes before coming to Hotel Celeste Celeste but they were charging for full day. So I was lucky that the room was available that time. Room was very spacious appx 15ft x 22ft as mentioned in the room description (Super Deluxe room) during online booking. There was another small room that could be used as changing room or luggage room. Bathroom was also very spacious and it had provision for hot and cold water, exhaust fan and western toilet. Room had one standard size wooden Almira, fridge, AC, TV, Sofa (3x2), central Table, one king size bed with very comfortable mattresses and quilt. Hotel provided two towels and two soaps with very good fragrance. Location of this Hotel Celeste was Colaba (south of Mumbai) which is considered as one of the posh area. It is very near to sasoon dock and naval area. Many tourist places are nearby it e.g. Gateway of India, Hotel Taj, Nariman Point, Marine Drive, Girgaon Chopaty, Byculla Zoo, Crawford market (for general shopping), Manish market (for mobile and accessories), Masjid Bunder market ( whole sale Dry fruits, choclates and clothes of different varieties). Theses places were in the range of 1.5 to 7-8 km hardly 15.min drive by Taxi. Taxis and buses are available at walking distance only. I booked a Taxi for full day for seeing places which were quite far from this Hotel Celeste like Siddhi Vinayak Temple, Juhu Beach, Band Stand, Hanging Garden. Mahalaxmi Temple etc. There were two good pure veg restaurants very near to this Hotel Celeste (0.5 km) 1. Madras Cafe - famous for south Indian food 2. Hotel Kailas Parbat - famous for North Indian dishes Hotel canteen was under renovation and was serving tea and few snacks only. But the Hotel Celeste staff was quite cooperative as whenever we ordered any food, they bring the items from these Hotel Celestes without any extra cost. Tea was quite tasty (only 25 Rs) and tea lovers will really appreciate it. Safety Concern: My room was at 2nd floor at the corner. There were open windows without any steel net or rods in the gallery area. It could be very dangerous if any kid try to see outside the window just for curiosity and may accidentally fall down. Outside the window, there was open area which was not very hygienic but not stinky and it will not make any big difference as we have to live inside the room. Overall my stay was quite pleasant in the Hotel Celeste. I would like to stay there again if I go to Mumbai again. Room was quite big and spacious compared to other Hotel Celeste's room I visited. I will definitely recommend this Hotel Celeste to others.

We just wanted a clean enough spacious place. Stayed there for 3 nights with family; wouldn't complain much as the staff took care of issues we had, if any. Pros 1. Good service 2. Staff took good care of us while we were there, including arranging airport shuttle. 3. The deluxe room we booked was spacious, with moderately clean bathrooms. Could use some more cleaning though. 4. Have good food options at walking distance. 5. We had requested early check in for around 8am and they had the rooms ready at rs. 500 which was quite reasonable. Cons 1. Locality smelled of fishes, but Hotel Celeste itself & rooms were fine. 2. Was difficult to get taxi to close by attractions and it was not close enough for us to travel by foot with infant, otherwise it's pretty good 3. They need to do something about the old elevator. It's outright scary for kids sometimes seeing us ascend floors and moreover barely 2 person can fit in. Not a show stopper though

Hotel is at a great location but was difficult to locate with property finder in your app. Then i used the "contact property "option and contacted the Hotel Celeste and handed over the phone to my taxi driver. So we reached it without much delay. The stay was comfortable, nothing extravagant just basic facilities but neat and clean. There is no restaurant available, but the location of the Hotel Celeste is such that its walkable distance from restaurants and also from colaba market and also near gateway of india. Staff was courteous. We were pleased with the stay.

I found this place via make my trip app, it was given a good rating, but when i went there i felt like this is the best place i could get for my convenience, nearby lots of shops are there, travel anywhere from this hostel is a breeze as there's ease of public transport from the frontyard of this Hotel Celeste and they will give you ample options for food also. Lift access is of old type and may run out of order at times, still i felt comfortable staying in this Hotel Celeste

It was really nice stay at the Hotel Celeste celeste. I have booked the room as mm t has given the assurance of this Hotel Celeste and i must say i'm really happy for my decision. The room was neat and clean and it was quite big room. The Hotel Celeste is located in colaba on the main road, so it's easy to find out and the colaba market is also near at walking distance. It's one half km away from the gate way of india. I am really happy for their service. Thank you mmt.

I stayed for one night only but within that short period i saw very friendly behaviour from their staff. I should mention the gentleman on the desk when i reached the Hotel Celeste almost after 10 hrs of checking time. He received with a very smiling face and direct the other staff to bring our baggages in the room. The room service was also good but they should look after the quantity of food supplied in terms of money. Room also very good well maintained

The property is in a good location, though they don't have a restaurant but they will arrange it from outside. Room quality is very good, everyday cleaning, and efficient staff makes this property perfect. The only thing that should be done by the authorities is to arrange a room freshener as the property is very old, and one bad smell is around the Hotel Celeste. Otherwise, ok

I found it on mmt location in colaba. Staff is friendly, location n rooms are good. They hv canteen for 24hr tea, n more breakfast items

The experience at celeste Hotel Celeste was really nice. The rooms were really comfortable and the vibe was really set. It was couple friendly which was a big added bonus. The reception and staff were very prompt and the Hotel Celeste was very tidy and maintained.
