Hotel Jem Valley

Location its about 4 km from Kodaikanal Lake. But the Road leading to the Hotel is very much remote and steep which makes its access ability very poor. Only way to reach is with a car. Auto won't climb the steep Road. So plan accordingly that you won't leave the Hotel Jem Valley and go back more than once in a day. Food breakfast buffet is ok. Book the room with free breakfast. They provide dinner buffet for 400 Rs which is not Worth of it. Food rates are very much higher in the Hotel restaurant as the nearest petty shop is Around 2. 5 km down the hill. So have food outside before reaching the Hotel otherwise have to spend more money. Room neat and clean rooms with an excellent view of Valley from the balcony. Which is Worth for money. Almost all rooms are having same Side balcony with same veiw. So deluxe and family deluxe rooms are same only the space is more in family deluxe rooms. All staffs were polite and responsive. There is no separate accommodation for drivers. Vehicle to be parked right in front of your room. Wifi is available in the rooms with some in eruptions. There were no mobile network coverage and I heard only Bsnl have coverage. Overall one can get a peaceful clean room with an excellent view of the Valley at Jem Valley Hotel with very poor access ability as major drawback.

This Hotel Jem Valley is located on the top of the hill with fantastic view of the nearby mountains from the balcony which is actually better than most of the views compared to the actual view points in kodaikanal and view from Hotel Jem Valley was my priority. Considering that the Hotel Jem Valley is on the top of the hill reaching here could be a tough task if you are not an experienced driver urself or have not hired a vehicle. We booked a cab with the help of the Hotel Jem Valley desk and for us travel was convenient but a bit expensive. We opted for breakfast and dinner option(weekend buffet)here during our stay as there were no nearby options but the food was good. However this place may not be suitable for old people or people who have trouble walking heights. The Hotel Jem Valley staff are very courteous and ready to help and this made our stay a pleasant one. There is a small kids play area and our son loved it. Overall, a great experience for us with a great balcony view.

The ambiance and the view are breathtaking. The best part is hassle free check in and you get 100% privacy there. The only flaw is the road that leads to the Hotel Jem Valley and the curves inside the premise that take you to the room. Need excellent driving skills else it would be advisable to park your vehicle somewhere near the reception. Food is great but the restaurant tends to get crowded and we have to wait a long time so that the dishes are refilled. When dishes run out. Not an active interest is shown to refill it. Clearing and cleaning the table also takes time. So the next customer is often seen to be waiting. Could improve on that. Apart from this, stay was great. View was breathtaking and the staff were polite too.

Jem Valley is isolated from the town and the way to this location is a bit difficult and accessible only with cars. Once you reach the place you will be seeing the awesome scenic views. Perfect place for the honeymoon couples who are looking for privacy. Complimentary morning breakfast buffet is awesome! Foods are bit costly so it better to book the stay with complimentary breakfast and lunch/dinner. If not its good to get the food from outside! No network coverages but still access to wifi is available! Overall Jem Valley is perfect for people who like calmness and for couples to spend their romantic time with the breezy temperature and misted scenic view with a lot of privacy!

I liked 1) best Valley view, with good climate (i.e will be located at top of hill, so climate will be good compared to Kodai Town) 2) silence at its best, to relax 3) no mobile tower bye to mobile and spend proper time with family 4) top-notch, separate food caring for kid (9months old) 5) trying to full fill our demands (i.e my visit on Sunday, Around 8:00 pm I requested for room heater, but unfortunately its in repair, but how come they arranged for me) 6) morning breakfast good Suggestion 1) car cleaning can be done, so that while starting from Hotel we feel better 2) roads lead to Hotel not good, and not proper signboard for routing.

We have stayed overnight however would love to spend 2-3 days here. Amazing food which is quite rare otherwise. Have a good time at j em (gem of kodaikanal. If you stay in valley view rooms, you gotta remember downhill walking is not easy however you can use your car. Driving uphill within Hotel Jem Valley requires some skills, if you aren't driving a powerful suv. Overall, it's a gem.

Without own vehicle Hotel Jem Valley acces is little complicated. Local transport will cost 400+from main city to Hotel Jem Valley. Request Hotel Jem Valley to arrange a transport atleast from naidupuram stop. Other than this location is awesome. To Hotel Jem Valley. Pls add some south indian menu items kindly re-fill the items (toiletries, water, coffee and milk powder packets)in the room regularly. Dont make your guest to ask them back to back. (provide the list in rooms which will be helpful for the guest)

15.08.2019 - 17.08.2019 We stayed here for 2 nights, 3 days. 1. Welcome drink was given on arrival. 2. Check-in was quick, no delays. 3. Room was spacious. More than expected. 4. Balcony view was wonderful. 5. Ordered lunch on arrival. Food was average. 6. It was chilling cold whole day. 7. Food next day was 3/5 rating. 8. One star was less for food only. For the only Hotel, it would be 4.5/5. 9. Overall experience wonderful 10. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Location is good, but access to the resort is not good. Also driving inside resort also takes some experience as the incline is very steep. Rooms are good. We need to ask for toiletries and towels but those are provided though. All in all nice place to stay with family
