Hotel Mateus

This 150 yrs old boutique Hotel Mateus is located in the prime location of Fountain has filled with Portugese cultured heritage buildings, a treat to your eyes and ears full of history. The property was clean with pretty artifacts, paintings and beautiful architecture. We stayed a day in superior suite room and a day in super deluxe. The suite room was mesmerizing with it's unique fragrance and colorful interiors and lighting. You cannot expect big rooms in such properties, but they are good enough, worth the money if you get a good deal in MMT. The beds could have been better in deluxe room and recommend to give good blankets and not train-wala blankets and better WIFI connectivity. They had a library place with good collection of books and every corner of the property would attract your camera. Overall the property is rich with its culture and heritage that would quench your travel soul!

This is a Hotel Mateus where you feel you live in ancient India, value for money, near Panjim all casinos and near Panjim market, also near Panaji bus stand so you can travel through bus and saves money on taxis, they have another Hotel Mateus at calungaate namely Casablanca as they are in hospitality business since many years and know how to well treat tourists and customers Mr. Raj and Mr. Royal do and Ms. Anita is there to help you apart from cook Mr. Govind and Mr. Karan.

We were in mateus for 3 days. The staff were kind and friendly. Other than the fact that food isn't served here, this is highly recommended. We ordered food from delivery services like swiggy and Zomato, the staff were kind enough to pick them up for us and also provided cutlery. The rooms were clean. The place gives a glimpse of Portuguese lifestyle. Most of the old artifacts have been preserved. We will definitely recommend this stay.

This is a beautiful heritage property in fontainhas. Hassle free checkin and checkout process. Do not expect a five-star Hotel Mateus service here. They provide basic amenities. Their breakfast menu has limited options but was served well. There was only one guy to take the order, cook the food and serve us. You’ll have a beautiful view of the colorful fontainhas streets from the windows. Overall it was a good experience here.

The boutique Hotel Mateus is located in this quaint area called the fountains which is in the heart of the capital with a lot of bars and restaurants close by. The room was clean and well equipped and the interiors were amazing. Took a lot of photos for Instagram. The staff is super friendly and welcoming and ready to help. Loved the vibe.

It is a old portuguese house restored and converted to a Hotel Mateus. Easy to miss in the small lanes of fountais. Loved the decor and overall feel of the Hotel Mateus. The care taker and helper were very good and courteous. Even with all the buzz is just within walking distance this Hotel Mateus was cool and peaceful. Enjoyed the stay.

The Hotel is located very near to the main road. The breakfast provided was excellent. You can order other meals through food apps and it will be delivered well before time. After completion of the booking. There are other homestays available as well which might be more spacious than Mateus.

Very classic heritage building. Everyone love this Hotel and should visit.

Well being from being located to some of the fun eateries and casinos to being a simple in terms of style and architecture in an elegant Goan setting. We liked everything about it.

Wonderful experience. Great staff. Hotel was so good, clean and sweet room. Next time I will again visit Goa and same the same Hotel Mateus I want.

A perfect place to stay which is located in the heart of Panjim city with its archaic look and pleasant ambience, you get that European touch in your stay here. The staff is very courteous and always ready to help upfront!

The place will never disappoint you. We stayed there for 3 nights. Location is very much accessible and is really prime. This is an old Portuguese house which will take you back to ages. The Staff are very cooperative . You should definitely make a stay here👍

Location is in the heart of Panjim. In one of the oldest parts of the city. Portuguese construction all around.
The property is amazing. There was a strange smell in the bathroom once the shower was turned on.
