Hotel Ramana Residency

Location : Just across the bus exit of PDY bus station, crossing the perpendicular main road and take the lane straight ahead, take right at the dead end and you arrive there. Just a short walk if the amount of luggage is manageable. Great for those who arrive by bus, from any direction. Staff : pleasant, friendly, do not have the artificial manner of trained professionals, but homely and pleasant. Room service on demand is fast. Room: absolute cleanliness of the room and furniture and bathroom. Well lit, not stingy on the watts. Not very big, putting a third bed on request cannot be thought of, unless one is alright with a very tight squeeze. Split AC has great cooling. The smallish room makes the AC very effective. Television and cable connection present, though I did not put it on, since the idea was to get away from TV for a while Good mirrors, adequate for dressing and well lighted. There is a feeling of cleanliness in the room that you expect in more costlier places. The common areas outside the rooms are equally clean and well lit. Facilities : On site facilities are limited. The place is well suited as a place to come back and relax after seeing the sights, and not for those who want to spend the whole day lazing around in the room and Hotel Ramana Residency. No car parking at all, or even for a two wheeler. So travelers in their own vehicles better avoid. There is no elevator, so not for those who absolutely need one for any reason better avoid. No restaurant on the premises, but room service available. There are numerous decent eating places at less than a 5 minute walk though for those who prefer that. The building from the outside looks unprepossessing, so the interior will come as a pleasant surprise for the price. The area around the Hotel Ramana Residency is more residential than business, and so quieter. To end, very suitable for two persons, and couples, who want to look around the place connectivity for that is good, and come back to a homely and clean and pleasant and comfortable relaxation. No injunctions like 'alcohol strictly prohibited' or smoking strictly prohibited' are noticed...

We spent 4 nights at Ramana Residency during our stay in Pondicherry. The location of the Hotel Ramana Residency is 5 minutes away from the bus depot, so connecting to any major city is right across the road. The rooms are of good dimensions, well maintained and have huge bed, which can easily sleep 3 at a time. The washrooms are clean and don't raise a stink a bit. However, the rooms do tend to get a bit stuffy at times, because the window is small and it opens only into the passage way outside, which connects all the rooms. They do have curtains for privacy, so that you can keep the windows open. The best part of the Hotel Ramana Residency is definitely its staff, who comes to your rescue immediately in case of any need. Since we were supposed to check-out at 6:30 in the morning, they made sure that we got our coffee on time and didn't charge us for the same. Parking becomes an issue over here, which I feel is the only drawback of the place. Since the Hotel Ramana Residency is located in a small lane, getting cars inside is a cumbersome task. You can easily move around with rental scooters, which can be parked inside the Hotel Ramana Residency gates (not more than 5) comfortably. It's cheap, well maintained and well looked after. Highly recommended. P. S. Rooms on the first floor tend to get a bit noisy at times, due to their proximity to the reception.

We went to attend a friend's wedding in a small group. It was a pleasant stay. Clean rooms and washrooms, well functioning ac, great location, and very good behavior. The receptionist (she may be the owner or any senior itself) named Viji gave full attention to any of the help or details asked. She helped us arranging two wheelers, auto rickshaw at times at reasonable rents. She assured of providing help if you face any kind of problems in the town such as vehicles, information or immediate support in case of any emergency. Don't think twice, just prefer this Hotel Ramana Residency if you are traveling to Puducherry.

Rooms are very clean and nice. Breakfast and service was also very good. The staff was quite helpful. Good value for money. Good location; Walkable from the main bus stand. On the negative side, this Hotel Ramana Residency is located in a con jested lane. Two cars can't pass in the same lane. Also two wheeler's are parked at either end of the road that makes the road more con jested. Luckily we didn't have any problems due to it. People were quite helpful in adjusting the two wheeler's to enable the car to pass. T

I enjoyed my stay, Hotel Ramana Residency was near to bus stand .. Hotel staff was very friendly ... Room was clean they maintained their rooms very well ... There was some problem with tv channels, you would not get the tv channels but tamil one, but if you have a good internet connection that won't bother you. Hotel do not have any menu for food items so if you are foodie than better pack some eatables with you .. But overall stay is enjoyable there.

Quickly service came and resolve the needs. Look like family environment .. Comfortable in area. No fear about the area. Very clean in the rest room ... Room technology also newly developed conditions. Totally worth for time money enjoyment every thing good in Pondicherry trip

This place seems to be slightly scary, it is like you go into small lanes inside the town and there is this place. Everything was absolutely fine but it is the only stay in that surroundings which slightly makes you uncomfortable, good staff and they have parking slightly away from the Hotel Ramana Residency but that is fine as long as the vehicle is safe. Good place but located in a very inconvenient place.

Hotel is good, rooms are quite good ... Stay was excellent. Staff is co-operative and the Receptionist Viji is great at all. I would like to recommend this Hotel Ramana Residency to one and all. Hotel is bit inside from the main road but that doe not matter when you get all the facilities in budget. Hotel is located at good location from where you have access to all visiting locations.

Nice place to stay in pondy with family very silent and clean rooms value for money

Room was very good and tidy. Staff was cooperative. The property is close to bus stand. Quiet place for those who want to enjoy peace and calm. There is no in-house restaurant as food has to be bought from outside which takes longer time

Provide Windows in each and improve lighting.

Homely and gently facility, food services are also very well.

It's a nice place easily reachable and isolated

Very good experience. All types of facility is available here and most of all Hotel Ramana Residency staff are very gentle. I am completely satisfied. Hotel location is heart of the town very close to main busstand.
