Hotel River Retreat

We recently made a vacation plan for dharamshala and dalhousie. We were initially a bit skeptical of staying far from central dharamshala but the decision turned out to be extremely prudent and enriching. The best part was the overall hospitality of the staff. Every person that we interacted right from reception to restaurant to housekeeping, were extremely polite, courteous and always ready to help! to name a few - mr paramjeet, mr rajeev and sunil - fantastic guys and always smiling. They also helped us formalize our overall travel plan, gave very useful suggestions and took full interest. I must compliment, mr raj kapoor (managing director) for imbibing an excellent culture of hospitality among the staff. Food was superb, and overall facilities were very well managed and maintained. Disappointingly, for us, the water level of the river was quite low. But the above positives - esp good patient behavior of staff - and a comfortable stay, more than made up for this. The management could however, also think of developing and beautifying the area around river area. The location setup is excellent in any case with proximity to airport and centrally located for small excursions towards palampur, baijnath, dharamshala. I hope that the management will continue to up the game with the same zeal and enthusiasm. Wishing them the very best.

Located within 1 km from airport, nice serene location, just beside a small river, cleanliness❤️. Nice cupboard with lots of spaces and drawers, good bed with neat and clean sheets. Bathrooms are spacious, towels are stain free. They maintain ecology with solar power water heaters and no disposable toiletries. all are fixed dispensers so less use of packaging material. Courteous people We were called and asked to order food before they close their kitchen. Food is sumptuous, good quantity and quality. The place having a outdoor dining area as well where you can eat listening to the natural streams. Parking space available for private cars. Hotel having a lawn to have a relaxing walk morning and evening. Loved it!

A beautiful and unexpected property. Arrived at Kangra early in the morning. The staff helped us with the directions and gave us a very smooth early check-in at 9 in the morning. The breakfast was very delicious. The view from the room was Worth every penny. The River and the snow-capped mountains in the background had us in awe. Room service was prompt and delicious. Staff is very helpful with everything. I forgot my suitcase keys and they helped me get it unlocked. As a bonus you get to See air planes to land at Kangra Airport just a few hundred meters away. Recommend this gem of a place to all types of travelers.

The Hotel River Retreat is just near the main road but it’s not noisy at all. The view from the corner room is beautiful as when you wake up you see mountains from the balcony door and river from the window. The attached balcony is spacious and you can hear the soothing sound of the river flowing. The staff was very humble and cooperative. The food was tasty. Hotel has it’s own parking space. One can stay here and travel to meclodganj uphills which is not far away. It was a perfect and relaxing stay.

I had planned a 2 days trip to dharamshala and macloedganj where as i booked my stay at Hotel River Retreat river retreat, i must admit that this was the best thing that i could have done for my family the location is so beautiful, the staff is well mannered, food is freshly cooked and above all the show case is the airplane veiw just above your head as airport is barely few meters away. First i had to upgrade the Hotel River Retreat room as the location was great a small river stream flowing by the Hotel River Retreat and mountain view. So i too last room with mountain and river room. I did not get out of room as i had a great view at my balcony plus i had ordered food multiple times from Hotel River Retreat resturant and it was always delicious. Totally worth the Hotel River Retreat price. Best staff too. I came during monsoon.

Visited Dharamsala for a day and stayed at this place. Clean and homely. Staff was very courteous and helping. Room provided all basic amenities and comforts. Washroom very clean. Ambience is beautiful. Located one km from the Airport, just off the main Road and no noise or pollution. Didn't use the restaurant facilities but I guess it's good. Good place to stay!

Great view only in balcony rooms. Standard rooms only have simple window. As I travelled with relative so I can give feedback for both rooms. Big almirah eats a lot space of your room. Food was good. Services are prompt. Nearby market makes this location perfect. You can see few aeroplane roaming around. Overall 4/5. Nice stay.

Food was excellent, they offer local cuisine too. Rooms clean, spacious with a great view of mountains and river. Very conveniently located near airport.

Great intimate Hotel River Retreat well located, rooms and decor lovely and quiet, the beds super comfortable everything luxurious. The service and staff are exceptional and meticulous, helpful in every way possible. A rare find!

Best views of dhauladhar kangra airport and stream of water combo pack of nature with the best views to stay in this Hotel River Retreat must stay without second thought all staff is very good and food is delicious

Very nice Hotel River Retreat with a beautiful location. Rooms, staff and everything about the Hotel River Retreat is very good. Will surely recommend this one.

The location is superb. Hygiene, cleanliness and space is excellent. Restaurant services and food is superb. Entire staff is well trained sober and ready to help you with smile. Very near to shah-gal airport. If we come again we will prefer to stay here every time.

The Hotel River Retreat is situated at a very scenic location, next to a rive with a mountain range in sight. The airport is about a km away. Good food, clean bathrooms and prompt service.

Too good service staff all are excellent everything is good.
