Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri

I'm Parnasri, a long-time MakeMyTrip member with a Platinum Card Membership. Recently, I had the pleasure of staying at The Sonar Bangla in Puti, a town I hadn't visited in 12 years. Initially, I was skeptical due to past disappointments with other Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puris like The Grand Sona in Deoghar and The Hotel Hindustan International in Bhubaneswar, but The Sonar Bangla exceeded my expectations. Although I arrived at 1 PM, unaware of the 9 AM check-in time, the staff surprised me with a seamless check-in process. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and offered a stunning sea view. The location was extremely safe. The restaurant staff were hardworking and ensured I enjoyed my meals. Room service was excellent, and the security guards were humble and cooperative. Everyone at the Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri worked diligently to deliver exceptional service. I highly recommend The Sonar Bangla and plan to return for a longer stay. The Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri is located bit away from main strip avoiding general crowd. That's exactly what we were looking for. The Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri has fantastic views from most rooms. Rooftop cafe has great views as well. Food is overall homely cooked. However we had food poisoning on our last day stay for two members out of nine. The staff was extremely supportive. I would not hesitate to come back here for future stays. PS, if you are looking for great bathing experience, look for Bhaskar or Siva. They were great life guards operating right before the Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri.

Had a pleasant stay at Hotel Sonar Bangla. All stuffs behaviour was pretty good. Me being a solo female traveller felt very safe. The location is also pretty good.Sea facing property is also having roof top cafe/pub , a perfect sundowner spot. Food was also very good. Overall experience is amazing. Had a pleasant stay at Sonar Bangla Puri. From the Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri beach is accessible. There is a cafe/bar at the rooftop which is also a sundowner. Food / breakfast buffet was also good. Staff behaviour was also very good. Overall experience is amazing.

The location is great- very close to the railway station, just in front of the beach, the Jaggannath Temple is very close, several shopping places are nearby too. The Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri rooms/ washrooms were good. We found some staff to be inhospitable but others were good. The view from the rooms was fine. The restaurant serves a variety of Bengali dishes but they are priced high with respect to the Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri standard. (This is not ITC Sonar, in case you think so.) Overall we had a good experience but were eager for better.

A great place to stay and enjoy some family time and relax on the beach. Very close to the beach. Rooms are clean and good. Room service is also very good. Restaurant food is costly and quantity is also less. Other than that, everything was pleasant. Jagannath temple is around 2-2. 5kms and you'll get autos from just outside the Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri.

the rooms were good and spacious, the food was great, breakfast was sumptuous. stayed in the 2nd floor, side sea view rooms which were pretty decent. service was good. need some improvement on overall checkout process as checkout should be made more comfortable and more flexibility

Our stay was pleasant. The location of the Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri is its USP. The sea beach and waves are visible from the room itself and is just a walk away. The staff was polite, courteous and prompt.

The location was very good. The beach in front of the Hotel Sonar Bangla, Puri was clean and not so crowded so one could enjoy the stay as well as the beach. The complimentary breakfast was too good. And the restaurant food was also good.

It has an endearing and attractive name. Our stay was comfortable and cosy ...morning tea facing the sea..sumptuous Bengali food ...parshey shorshe and posto bora was mouth watering ..so was the chingri malaikari ...felt like a home away from home ..staff were helpful.

Nice stay. Room size small compared to price. Good food. No sitting provision or space inside room. Terrace lounge is good, menu are very limited
