Hotel Sonar Bangla Sunderban is a wonderful property spread across a sprawling area with various sitting arrangements, swimming pool, restaurant, games room and a bar. How to reach: From science city take the diversion on to Basanti Highway and go straight via Malancha onwards to Gadkhali. The Google map will lead you through a shortcut route which though can make the journey interesting, I would suggest avoiding for the mere reason the last stretch is over a wooden bridge. At Gadkhali the resort staff was waiting for us. We parked our car at Sagar parking lot, a temporary shaded parking space. They had porters to carry the luggage, each piece of luggage at ₹15 and a boat ready for us to cross over. Boat charges ₹300/-. After getting down from the boat, two Totos were waiting for us to take to the resort (travel time around 15mins). The property: We booked deluxe double bed rooms and were offered two cottages overlooking a water body and pool and one at the back. Living up to Sonar Bangla standards, rooms were big, with a sofa and a big balcony for 5-6 people to sit comfortably and enjoy the evening adda. The game room is quite big with kids playing area, a couple of gym equipment, a table tennis board and pool tables. The games room also offers pool towels. You can order from the restaurant and bar at pool side, but drinking from personal stock is not allowed either at the pool side or at the sitting area outside the restaurant. The food and the service: The food is quite okay with certain items which may seem a bit overpriced. So suggestion would be to look at the menu card for prices and then plan your order. The quantity is good and the quality of fish and mutton proper. In case of fried items we sometimes questioned the cooking medium. The items mentioned in all day dining like sandwiches are not available if there is a rush at the restaurant. They would however serve the food in the room or the balcony as requested. Order for lunch closes at 3pm while dinner order closes at 10pm. The Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban staff is one of the best I have seen across my years of travel. They always greet you with a smile, eager to comply within reasonable standards and very polite. Right from setting up chairs and tables at the balcony, to getting you multiple items from restaurant, housekeeping they are extremely good and I really want to thank them for the wonderful stay. The Cons: Phone and internet connectivity if you are a Vodafone user. Wifi connectivity at Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban, which they call slow, but honestly just impossible to connect from the rooms. Overall very good property to go and spend a couple of days.

The road journey is too disturbing as 40% of road is not riding condition. Other than that SONAR BANGLA SUNDARBAN IS A PLACE A SOPHISTICATED HUMAN BEING SHOULD GO. The quality of food so delicious 😋 but the portion is too large and expensive. My request to its owner he should reduce the quantity and the price, so that people can order whenever they feel like to eat something. Sonar Bangla Sundarban will be remembered just because of the behavior of the staff. In the dining 4 people I came across with everyone is too good. Infact after 7 days when we left today, we are feeling oh we will miss them. Me and my daughter spent a night totally alone in this resort for a night, and Its too secure. Its beauty is heavenly. Would love to visit every year. The owner and the interior designer has superb taste that's for sure. A perfect resort, really worried how will they maintain? But I will try my best so that visitors take interest to go there. Stay blessed all 🙏

I stayed here for two nights to take a mangrove forest boat tour in sundarban national park. This was a new, clean Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban in a quiet green area, with high service levels and good food (especially seafood, which made me want to stay longer. The boat picked us up at the jetty in front of the Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban. As the boat left at 7:30am, the Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban's breakfast start time, i asked the Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban to make us a breakfast pack. The Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban also arranged a car from canning to gadkhali on the way there and from gadkhali to kolkata airport on the way back. I took the indian railways local train from kolkata to canning on the way there. I wanted to experience the scene at the beginning of “the hungry tide”. I decided on this Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban after a lot of research, and i think it is definitely the best Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban in the area.

Property location is good, amenities are good but the sorrow part remains in food & services. Cooked foods are absolutely 'insipid, 'inedible, 'unpalatable, etc. Surprisingly overpriced. Service is pathetic. No one attend any service call within expected tat. Room service is also very poor. We ordered 2 beers on day 1 & they billed for 3 during check-out on day 3. Mr restaurant manager mr dipayan cross checked with his room service in two interactions detaining us for over an hour during check-out. One pizza on day 2 was served in 2 hours. They need to employ some hospitality sector educated employees to educate the local recruits. Hopefully all these lapses & shortcomings will be resolved vey soon. Will visit again but obviously after taking a good stock of these painstaking issues. The boat safari was absolutely enjoyable on m. B. Delta cruiser introduced recently with all amenities including air conditioning & washroom.

The place is a hidden gem. It is surrounded by village area on one side and the other dutta river side. The place is away from the hussle bustle of traffic or any construction activity. The duplex have 2 rooms at the ground floor with 1 suite on the upper floor named alphabetically a to n or m. I guess. The suite has a view of the river from some. The space has the amenities as per the description but i guess they should add a good coffee and tea section in their so called cafe above the reception. They have a lovely deck with a beautiful red terracotta extended shed in a symmetrical slope. The suite rooms are large and a great stay with a dining area and a large sofa and verandah. The breakfast has a decent spread but misses the zing ! the bar needs to upgrade to better stock of options in beer. Rest it is chilled and has a great decor. No mosquito in march. . . . But come prepared.

An amazing short vacation in Hotel Sonar Bangla during Christmas 2023! Amazing location, extraordinary hospitality, lovely property and delicious food! Mr. Siddhartha Banerjee made the travel and logistics easy and seamless. I have hardly come across a Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban where every dish ordered was extraordinarily well made. be it any cuisine Bengali, oriental or continental. every dish was absolutely authentic in taste and high in quality.. restaurant staff is very welcoming and hospitable. the boats for jungle safari are impeccably clean and well maintained with very hospitable staff. All in all a very memorable stay.

The resort itself is beautiful and clean. The food is delicious. But service was peculiar. During the breakfast buffet i had asked for pancakes. Apparently so had another person, possibly before me. One server served me the pancakes before that person. We were already eating them when another waiter arrived and said that these pancakes were for the other person, then he quietly picked up the rest of the pancakes from my plate and went to the other table. It was bizarre! but otherwise nice place.

Highly recommended for any type of holiday. Suitable for couples and family. Food excellent taste. Cuisine is authentic to the origin of the dish. Five start cleanliness. Service excellent. Location very serene, scenic and different experience difficult to get elsewhere. Contrary to mm t information, there is no bar at present and smoking is freely allowed inside the rooms and within the campus. I would suggest best mode of transportation is via Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban front desk.

The property is very good. But the value of 11000 per night is bit over priced. May be this was a christmas time peak season pricing. The food was good but not excellent. Needs improvement in taste of food.

The Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban is excellent. The landscape is beautiful and the service is great. However, we did not like the food. The breakfast was average at best and the restaurant was overpriced despite sub-average food. Given the fact that this is the only place guests can eat, food options are thus limited.

Superb…stay, facilities, food and above all hospitality. It was all so good. We were worried if it was a good plan to choose Sunderbans as our weekend gate-away. Once we reached the venue all worries disappeared in the thin air. It was indeed relaxing.

Located far from the city hustle and bustle and had a very relaxing family together. They have ensured our stay is comfortable and secure.

The property is beautiful. Nice place to relax. Food was ok. Didn't not liked the packed food given by Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban for safari. 9 hrs safari is not worth.

The place is a little hard to get to but that adds to its rustic charm, the property is beautiful and well kept, rooms are cozy and big. Food is tasty but expensive. The safari experience wasnt great.

Stay and food was excellent. The only problem was the distance. The Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban authorities should make arrangements for transport through private launch directly.

The property is excellent rooms are well decorated, spacious and have all the amenities staff are cordial property has lavish open space, gardens and playing area private ferry service (chargeable) will definitely recommend the property to others

I have search through google where mmt shows that there is one good Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban namely sonar bangla. Its really a nice property. Staffs are very good as well as Hotel Sonar Bangla Sundarban rooms and food

Overall experience was excellent.
