Hotel SS Royal

The Hotel SS Royal is located on a very congested road leading to the chowk baba sahab. The Hotel SS Royal provides a quiter abode amid-st all the hustle of this really old part of amritsar(the area around the golden temple. Let me share some pros and cons of staying here. Pros: 1. Wonderful and highly cooperative staff. I wanted to make this my first point because a courteous, friendly and supportive staff makes a lot of difference. A special mention to mr. Subhash, who would be available at the doors of each guest whenever he is called upon, no matter how many times you call him. And he makes wonderful tea. 2. Nice and clean room. We were a group of 4( 3 adult and 1 kid) and we asked for a family room( which are very limited btw. The rooms were really good and equipped with all modern amenities(except some which i will cover in cons) 3. Very close to sri harmandir sahib. The location is within a walking distance from the langar hall of the golden temple. So thats actually quite convenient as 99% of people do come to amritsar to visit the golden temple. Cons: 1. A big con is the non-availability of elevator(lift. We were given room on the 4th floor, and it was really exhaustive to climb the (never ending) flight of stairs to reach our room. And add to this, we had an elderly woman in our group. This was actually a complaint from all the occupants. So if the Hotel SS Royal management is reading this, please consider building one lift. 2. Although rooms were spacious and clean, i found some amenities( that are considered basic in mostly all Hotel SS Royals now a days) such as coffee/tea bags, electric kettle etc not been provided. 3. This is another problem related to room. Although we asked the room to be cleaned for the next day, it wasnt done. The cleaning crew is not sincere and dedicated to their work, at all. Even after telling them personally, they didnt act. So if the Hotel SS Royal management is reading this, please take suitable action. So overall, i would rate the Hotel SS Royal 4-ish out of 5, despite a few hiccups. Like a said in the begining, an amazing staff is what makes all the difference

• Pros: This Hotel SS Royal is located on a busy lane but the rooms are quiet. The staff were courteous and always willing to help. The room (including bathroom) was very neat and tidy and provided the necessary amenities. It is located very near to the golden temple (although on the backside). The Hotel SS Royal can book an e-rickshaw for you on demand (though the price is a bit high as compared to the normal rates). • Cons: The Hotel SS Royal is located on a narrow lane which can be accessed only through e-rickshaws (no taxis). It doesn't have a lift, which could be a problem for some people. Luckily, it wasn't a problem for us as we got our room on the first floor. No other problems. • Conclusion: Overall, it was a good stay for us and I would definitely recommend this Hotel SS Royal if you want a good Hotel SS Royal which is located near the Golden Temple.

The Hotel SS Royal is very near to golden temple (baba atal rai gurudwara side entrance. I had a 2 night stay here during holi weekend. The staff is really polite and cooperative. I had a late night train and the owner and the night shift manager (perhaps jujhar singh is his name) personally came to pick me up as i was travel-ling alone. The room service was decent too. And they also arranged for a taxi service for me as i wanted to visit other gurudwaras too. The onl ly suggestion i would give is to add lifts in the Hotel SS Royal. Once again thanks to mm t and to Hotel SS Royal s s royal for making my trip a success.

The best positive about the Hotel SS Royal is its location just about 100m from golden temple complex. It is a small Hotel SS Royal, neat and clean with granite on steps and modern wash rooms. Two bed rooms are very dingy and claustrophobic with no outside view, should be avoided. Staff is polite and helpful but not very accommodating with room change etc. I had room on 2nd floor. A 65 yrs old lady with knee problems has great difficulty in climbing the stairs. There is no cooking except tea, which was delicious. Taxi cannot reach Hotel SS Royal, one has to depend on e-rickshaw as lanes are narrow and crowded.

Stayed for 2 nights while on pur visit to amritsar. It’s a clean Hotel SS Royal with very supportive staff. It is at a stone throw away distance from golden temple and market. Location is good considering distance to golden temple. However, the locality is very congested. Subhash, from the staff, is very helpful and supportive. He takes care of guests very well. One can also avail taxi service for attar i and airport at reasonable price. Rooms are bit cramped but can be managed for couple of days. There is no restaurant on site bit many eateries around.

Hotel is nice and clean with good room and tasty food, restroom was clean and room was cozy for 2 people as we booked the deluxe room. Room service was perfect and staffs were very helpful. The location is at a walkable distance of 5 mins from golden temple and jallianwala bagh. However the only con is that cabs can’t reach the location as the streets are too narrow, however you can easily get an e-rickshaw for a cheaper price around the Hotel SS Royal location. I would recommend the location, but make sure about the cab facilities.

The location of the Hotel SS Royal is difficult to find and in busy days the car parking may not be available to you. The Hotel SS Royal does not have dinning hall. If you can bear with this, then you will enjoy this stay. The location is very close to golden temple. Rooms are well furnished, modern. Washrooms are also upto the mark. Staffs are cordial. Subhash singh ji was very prompt and guided us beautifully in different matters. Except the car parking issue and difficulty in finding the Hotel SS Royal, we had a good time there.

The property is neat and clean. Good breakfast on demand at room. It is not a buffet breakfast. The property doesn't have an in-house restaurant. Nice and courteous staff. Very near to golden temple and jallianwala bagh. The only issue is that property is located in a narrow lane, where taxi and auto don't go due to traffic restrictions by the local police. Though e-rickshaw is available for local commute if required. Won't suggest this property for those who have their own car or those who have rented a taxi.

The Hotel SS Royal and staff is good, location is very near to golden temple, but Hotel SS Royal is inside very narrow lanes, reaching it with cab is not possible, you have to take battery auto.

Hotel is very near to golden temple. Staffs are very well behaved. Nice stay. The only problem is lift is not there. So difficult for elderly people. Otherwise nice stay

The rooms are very clean, new as shown in the images. The Hotel SS Royal is 10 mins walk from the temple and is walkable or take a rick. The staff is also courteous and helpful. Worth the price.

Neat and clean Hotel SS Royal with good ambience. We had a pleasant stay. It is just next to the golden temple. Rooms are spacious and beds were clean. Bathroom was clean and hygienic. Food and beverages are easily available and local transport is nearby.

The stay was excellent. Location very close to golden temple n jalianwala bagh management is very cool n cooperative they have provided us with bigger and nice room without extra charges other staff also good. I recommend ss royal

We stayed for 3 days and the overall arrangements were good. Staff was very cordial and arranged the required items as and when asked for. Overall good experience.
