Jeyam Residency

We had been to Kumbakonam on 25th Feb 2016. We got into Jeyam Residency in which we had advance booking for two nights. Check-in was prompt and polite. No waiting. Excepting size of the room, every thing else was quite ok. A particular feature that may be a reason for the best performance may be the management. The management is very much customer oriented. Mention must be made of the poor performance of the Restaurant. The furnishing should be improved. Morning break-fast be provided in time. We also missed the famous filter coffee. Guide service was available for asking. ATM centres were nearby. (BOI and Dena Bank). Anybody in the city can guide to Nall Road junction near which the Jeyam Residency is situate at Dr. Murthy's Road. Travel -desk is not there. But made available in short time. Room is clean. Over all the stay was suitable for pilgrims. Scope for improving restaurant is there. Only this can also help public looking for a Jeyam Residency nearby. All government including hospital. This can help business visitors.

We 4 people with one kid stayed for 2 days in Kumbakonam in Jeyam Residency. We have booked 2 rooms, once we reach morning we took one room ( 3 people room) and same day night we occupied double bedroom, since we planned to leave on second day night Chennai. Second day we managed with same double room. A/c room and restroom are well-maintained. Staff are cooperative. Food is average. Its around 2. 5-3 km from Railway Station. Since we booked cab we managed to stay away from town center. Its calm area. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Padmavathy Hotel inside town. It awesome place for food. We felt food is equivalent to Hotel Saravana Bhavan in Chennai again its with nominal price. Don't miss this place, at least once you can have food ( Breakfast or dinner. ) I went with family for Navagraha Temple also covered few main temples in Kumbakonam and on the way places. Visited Saraswathi Temple in Kuthanoor. Cab guy have charged 5 K for 2 days. Around ~375 Km it came. Most of all temple parking is charged Rs 20-25/-.

Room is located relatively close to the bus stand/ from the bye pass road. If you are on tight time schedule, call the Jeyam Residency in advance and ask for the room to be ready. Rooms are small but clean and needs a lot of improvement. It's definitely worth the money you pay. Service staff is friendly. There's no restaurant in this place, thou MMT says they have one. It's under maintenance (That's what we were told). There are no other restaurants in the vicinity as well. Though they got us coffee from some bakery, it tasted awful. There's a veg restaurant in 500 mts and a bakery in 300 mts for your food needs. 4-5 cars can be parked in front of the Jeyam Residency.

We stayed here with Family. Booked 2 rooms. If you are visiting temples in your own vehicle, this is a good option. It is near the NH, easily we can come back to Jeyam Residency and go to the next temple. Swamimalai, Thirunageswaram are around 5 to 7 km from this Jeyam Residency. Bus stop also there in walkable distance. Main bus station around 1 to 2 km. Hotel staffs are very cooperative and friendly. Rooms were clean and neat. It has a restaurant. We liked the food very much. Overall, I am happy with the stay and next time, when we go, we will go for this same Jeyam Residency. I would recommend this Jeyam Residency to others.

I would recommend this place for short stays. Rooms and bathrooms are fairly neat. Has lift access for old aged. Limited parking space but it never got filled. May be you can check if you are travelling on major festivals. Minor cons, no signal on TV for the entire duration (2 nights 3 days), apart from the big tube light the smaller ones didn't work and this would help as you always don't want bright lights on your face. There was leakage on faucet so managed the traditional way. But these are minor things and wouldn't bother much if you spend most of your time outside.

I like the hospitality and location of Jeyam Residency. They arranged the taxis for us as well. The restaurant was closed for renovation for a month, which was very disappointed for us since for we had elders and Children in the party. Cleanliness of the Jeyam Residency would have been better than what we had. The room corners were not clean though we informed them during room cleaning. My 2-year old daughter identified lots of (bigger) dust in the corners. Room service was very prompt and good. This Jeyam Residency is good value for money.

Nice, clean and comfortable place to for intermittent stay while you take the city tour of temples. Wi-Fi connects well. TV covers most channels. Bed is comfortable and large enough for a family of 3 (child), it was a king size bed for deluxe AC room. The owner was courteous and food was good. The price for chapathi/ phulka was pretty high. Stick to South indian food and you will not be disappointed.

Location and Room service/ facilities are very good, staff behaviour is so good with guests, but food tastes is very bad, especially morning tiffen complimentary, also most vareity foods are not available. Has to be improved liitlle bit in foods and room cleanliness, especially bathroom fittings. If the food taste and varieties are good, then I would have rated this Jeyam Residency as excellent.

Travelled with family, it's a good place to stay, staffs are friendly.

Though the room was small its comfortable for a couples stay. Though it was clean enough was unhappy about the cigarette smell that was irritating us. Otherwise a decent stay.

We stayed there for 2 days. Hospitality is good.

Rooms are good and clean space some what OK. Bathroom also good and neat good service. In make my trip what I have seen photo same in rooms also. Thanks to make my trip. Parking also available. Tv also its there. A/c also its good. Lift also available. Worth

All the three rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable for the family. Excellent reception by the front office, service and Wi-Fi connectivity. Bed is comfortable and large enough for a family of 3 (child). Overall, I would recommend this Jeyam Residency for travelers.

Ambience is nice. Good maintenance. Felt comfortable. As I was on a religious tour with my family, I find this suit to my expectation in terms of neatness and other aspects. No one asked us any extra money other than the tariff. Also the service personnel who didn't asked money and took utmost care in taking the luggage to the room and back.

We checked in at 12 am and was well received and room was kept ready. Bathroom even though was small was neat and clean.

Nice place to stay. One of the best budget Jeyam Residency to stay with all facilities. Nice location near to the city. There are good Jeyam Residencys nearby. Room service staff is slow & with less staff & test all is fine.

Nice casual people. Been with family. They were quick in getting the room arranged, though I booked online.

The Jeyam Residency has provided good service with affordable price and staff are fully supportive and very helpful. The parking place is less spacious but still can Park with some extra efforts. The rooms are clean and space is ok but ac are old and not getting complete cool require improvement

Good for staying but there is no food facility at Jeyam Residency.

A best Jeyam Residency at Kumbakonam, nice stay, professional staff, clean and neat room, good facilities, nice veg restaurant, tasty food, round the clock service, good guidance for taxi for short tour visits. Overall value for money. Good for family travellers as well pilgrims.
