Kalyan Cool Homestay - Chikmagalur

Booked the homestay only the night before our departure. We received a lot of advice and tips the next day from the host about activities and sights to visit along the way to the homestay. Dietary requirements were also considered well in advance of our arrival. The Villa itself was very well made and maintained. We were lucky to be the only occupants during our visit which made it extremely conform tale considering we had 2 toddlers with us. The estate Around the homestay is wonderful giving you a glimpse into agricultural life. The estate also gives you a peak into the diverse bird life of the Western ghats which is relief from the concrete jungle. The swimming pool and kiddie pool were an exciting addition for the kids. And finally the food! Go there for an interesting blend of spices in your curry, near dosa and the most aromatic pepper fry. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful all along the way, helping us with the special needs of the children and accommodating our driver graciously. One of several homestays in the region, but my personal experience here makes this one highly recommendable.

We have booked room with 4 bed. It was specious enough. Home stay is surrounded by coffee plantation. Excellent surrounding, where you can have walk and See different type of plants. All day you will listen birds chirping. There is no pollution or vehicle noise. Property is modern and they maintain high cleanliness. They have made concrete playground for cricket, basketball, badminton, so you don't get bored. We had opted for dinner and it was super tasty, we didn't had such dinner in any home stay before.
We had booked for 2 nights. Direction on the map is accurate. Owner messaged me before a day. We booked 4 bed room. Room was specious. Property is very good, and very high cleanliness. It is surrounded by coffee plantation, you can have good walk in morning. All day you can listen bird chirping. They have basketball, badminton, cricket, carom and many sports equipment. We opted for dinner and it was super tasty, we never had such good food in any home stay before. I will not hesitate to go there again.

I loved my stay for the followings, Spacious with amenities, there is lots of open places with multiple amenities like swimming pool, badminton court, basketball court, air rifle shooting. In the lap of coffee estate, it is surrounded by coffee estate. One can hear birds chirping throughout the day. In the night enjoy clear sky, enjoying dinner next to bonfire. Great food, the home cooked food was really great. They also ensured to serve several special dishes to different groups, a personal touch. Very pet friendly, I had 1 cat and a dog. They enjoyed a lot. Owner has 2 hounds. Pundah, the smaller one, is very friendly and my dog had a great friend there. Awesome host, the owner, his family and the staffs were very nice. They made us feel at home. I had a great time. Nothing that I can think of which could have been better. A TV in room could be added, but I did not miss it much. I enjoyed a great family time. I will recommend Kalyan cool villa home-stay to all type of travellers.

We stayed for 2 nights here and it was very pleasant stay. Right from start of our journey from bangalore, the owner was in touch with us guiding the route we should take and the places to see on the way. Google map shows little different route from belur, but he guided us and was a better route to the homestay. The owner also stays here and is very humble and nice person. He knows what the guests need and u need not ask for it. I was with my mom and being north indian he knows we would like to have chapati, so it was prepared in the dinner specially for us. The hospitality from staff was very nice, the food is authentic karnataka style and was tasty (must try. The location is also nice with some sports activities like badminton, half basketball, pool and shooting. Also the owner recommended the places to see, the restaurants to have food etc. Best part was boon fire which was arranged privately for us. Would surely recommend this homestay.

Visited Chikmaglur on 21st june with family. It was pleasant stay and everything was planned. I searched lot for a perfect home stay to have something for every age group. I zeroed with Kalyan Cool villa due to below reasons Pros 1. Not to is located 2. 200 mtr from main Road. 3. Swimming pool, badminton/basket ball/volleyball court (stuff provided by owner). 4. Air gun shooting. 5. Very nice greenery and garden. 6. Personal attention by Mr.Girish to every group. 7. Food quality and taste was good. 8. Arrangement for vehicle in case if you need. 9. Rooms were clean and well maintained coat and blankets. 10. Towel were clean. 11. Two decent puppies Gunda and Punda. 12. Can accommodate multiple groups (capacity is about 35 head count). Cons I couldn't find any to share to the readers.

Much thanks to the family at the home stay for welcoming us with a great smile and care. This home stay has one of the most unique things that other home stays do not have. A swimming pool. That was the primary reason we booked the place. Although the place was a bit far from the city we chose it because of the pool. But the roads didn't make it look far. It was a easy commute to Chikmanglur Town. Neat rooms and homely experience given by the hosts. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We didn't book for food but later we regret getting the smell that it was a mistake. Next time we will make sure we book it with food. Good luck to Agnidev and family for future expansions. Thank you uncle and aunty for making us feel at home.

It was a good stay if not perfect. Food was awesome as well as host. Location is bit far from popular sightseeing locations and even main town. Good for people going to stay for a while outside their busy life and no rush. No tv in rooms or ac's for good ventilation, that would have made the rooms perfect for staying. We thought it was a full fledge villa but it came out small adjoining house converted into multiple staying rooms and near to owner staying himself in actual big villa. May be some more pictures will help people make out about villa 1 or villa 2 in ad.

We stayed at the property for 2 nights. We reached very early morning on the day of check-in. Though the check-in time was 12 pm, the owner was very accommodating and arranged for an early breakfast and also provided early check-in within couple of hours. It was raining heavily during our stay yet the staff tried to meet all our requests and the owner was more than accommodating for every request. Kudos to all of them! Also, the property is in a great location and very close to nature which makes your stay truly memorable.

We were 5 members add an excellent enjoyment over the time till we stayed, with yummy homely food along with marvelous service.

We stayed for three nights and it was very nice stay. Rooms are clean spacious. Food is tasty with local special items. Owners are very friendly and cooperative in explaining all the things there and helpful to guide the visiting places near by. Overall a pleasant stay.

We travels around 6 people it was a pleasent stay food was very tasty and delicious as home cooked food, but only limited option in the menu, its located in the middle of a coffee plantation, the property owner stays close by and guides and helps the guests for their needs and requests, overall a beautiful place for a family with some play area actavaties facility and a clean pool.

The place looks amazing and the swimming pool is clean and there are indoor and outdoor games etc. The food is amazing (must visit )

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was an amazing experience. Food, games, lush greenery, location (in between the coffee plantation), everything was just awesome. Owners were so, supportive. Perfect place to stay with family. Super friendly dogs gun a pond. Homemade food.
