KARTHEES RESIDENCY

What can be holier and more auspicious than following the trail of Lord Rama! When I woke up at 4:20 a.m. and tried to see out through the window of our train compartment, I found the landscape brightened with moonlight. Suddenly to my awe and amaze I found our train crossing the bridge built over the ocean. The Pamban bridge is considered one of the most dangerous rail-bridges in the world. Since we had arrived very early in the morning, we took the opportunity to have the holy dip in the ocean first and proceeded to the sacred 22 teerthas(wells) within the outer precinct of the Arulmigu Ramanatha Swami Temple - dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of one of the 12 Jyotirlingams - this one installed and consecrated by Lord Ram Himself. Rameshwaram is one of the 4 Dham also which everyone aspires to visit at least once in his/her lifetime. As we passed by every well, the volunteers poured a bucket full of water on us. We changed the clothes and entered the Sanctum Santorum through the world famous corridors of the temple for the Abhishek Puja. These are the longest corridors in the world. For a devout pilgrim, Rameshwaram island is a virtual Heaven. The spiritual, divine and serene atmosphere here gives one an uplifting and transforming experience. The holy sites which we visited - the Ramar footprint( footprint of Lord Ram), Vibhishan Temple - the point where he was accepted as a friend and proclaimed as the King of Sri Lanka by Lord Ram. Finally we drove to the Dhanuskodi - the starting point of the Ramsetu and as we got closer to the point, we saw vast expanses of emerald green water on both sides of the road, to the right side - the Indian Ocean and to the left the Bay of Bengal, the former bring very turbulent with waves breaking on the shore and the later looked very calm and peaceful. The left sea shore has the shape of a bow. On way back to Rameshwaram we had a brief stopover at the ancestral house of the famous scientist and former President APJ Abdul Kalam on the mosque street. Kalam was of the view that it is a crime not to keep high aims in this age of science and technology. One of his statements displayed on the wall of his house touched me much - ' Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow. Don't walk behind me, I may not lead. Walk beside me and be my friend.' This is the mantra how we can take the Nation forward together.

The property is very close to the temple entrance and Agnitheertham. So one can take a dip in the ocean and take the holy Thirtham bath inside the temple and quickly come back and change. The rooms are clean and the staff very polite and helpful. They help you with all the details and tips for your visit. Good for families. Only downside is the approach road and parking as it's in a narrow street. So if you come with a big vehicle or if there are already more cars then you will have to park the vehicle somewhere far.

The property is located very near north and main east gate of Ramnath swami Jyotirlinga temple. Decent property and the owner was quite helpful. Rooms are of small size. However, they were quite clean and comfortable. Though location is nice approach road to the KARTHEES RESIDENCY should be improved and two direction signs leading to the KARTHEES RESIDENCY should be erected by the owner. Notwithstanding these observations we can recommend the KARTHEES RESIDENCY to tourists who have pilgrimage as primary objective.

Our stay was quite peaceful and happy. The interior of our rooms and outer building were good, the staff was really kind and quite informative for us, to locate few areas in Town and other sight seeing spots. The only negative we noticed was the parking facilities, which could have been a little better and the Road where the Residency is located. Other than that, our trip was real good and happy in Karthees Residency. We would definitely recommend Karthees Residency for a good and peaceful stay.

The KARTHEES RESIDENCY is very close to the main temple. Good KARTHEES RESIDENCY with decent facilities and the price per night stay will be under your budget. It's looks like they have recently opened this KARTHEES RESIDENCY, the staff behavior is really caring and kind. They always try to answer your questions politely and providing best support for your comfortable stay. The only negative is no kitchen attached to this property, hence you need to go out for your meal.

The KARTHEES RESIDENCY karthees at rameshwar having very good and too much cooperative staff, they responding for personal guide in detail in for visiting to darsan in sequence, as well as they have arranged a quality food at late night at room itself. They have guided us for how to reach from rameshwar airport to city as well as madurai to rameshwar in government a/c bus at cheapest rate.

The KARTHEES RESIDENCY was nearby the temple in a walkable distance. Reception guy gave us a warm greeting and was ready to help on anything. Rooms were small but never mind it since the rent is very low. Cleanliness was good. Only negative was the aunty who came for cleaning who ask for tip. Overall rating 4.7/5.

As per the earlier reviews, the room was small but stay was great. Clean room and wash room, very friendly staff. Mr. Hari ha-ran and chandra were very helpful. They even helped in taking the bath at 22 wells inside the temple for a nominal fee. Parking available. Would surely recommend for family stay.

It is very near to north gate of temple, agni thertham also walkable, besides there is murugan mess we can get quality & tasty food compared to any other KARTHEES RESIDENCYs in rameswaram that's also being advantage

Staff was very good with customers. Except hot water absence. Everything was fine.

I booked 2 double bed rooms. It was good staying with nice breeze in the evening. It was nearby temple walkable. Not very spacious though it was neat and tidy. We felt fan was not speedy enough as we booked a non AC one. But overall experience was good.
