Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay

This homestay is really worth the charge. It is located in town, close to local activity, yet the sanctuary entrances are within walking distance. The room we had was large, neat and clean, and airy. The beds were large and comfortable. The bathroom was also large and clean. There was piped hot water at specific times, and on request. It may have been the season (mid-January), but there were no mosquitoes (despite the greenery around), and there was no need for reconditioning. There was a sit-out with a view of hills and a sense of openness. (Lots of flowers and birds - we even spotted a hornbill! The host and hostess are cheerful, polite and helpful. They provide food on request (though we didn't have the opportunity to sample their fare). All in all, ideal for a few days' are and are !! We'd give it 5/5 for everything except for facilities. This, alone, we'd rate at 4/5 because 2 facilities could be added - (i) an electric kettle and some crockery so that guests can feel free to make tea/coffee for themselves (ii) a little geyser in the bathroom so that guests could feel free to use hot water without troubling the hosts.

Beautiful places are always beautiful. What makes them less or more beautiful is human behavior. And this is where Kerala House Homestay scores. The location, the service, these are all excellent. Some might complaint about the non-availability of an in-house restaurant but that's not a problem at all. With scores of those lining the street just outside the Homestay. For our part though we got delicious tea made and served by the owner's family. The owner, Subu and his wife are two oversampling persons ready to assist you anytime and in whichever possible way getting invited to their home and the subsequent long chat was only obvious. Vinoy, Subu's relative is a powerhouse of energy. Always by our side. Facilitating and fulfilling our needs. His wife visited us and we had a very informative talk with her. The best part was their children, 2 boys and 2 girls. They were so lovable. What more does one need to feel at home!

Great location and view from the balcony of the Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay. Very relaxed and pleasant surroundings. Nicely clean rooms, best value for money. Only food is not available at the Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay itself. But you have plenty of restaurants in front of this Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay. The Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay is has a very great view at its backside and from the windows and you can really feel relaxed throughout the day if you simply stay inside this Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay for all day long.

Overall good experience. The homestay is in a very good location with proximity to both the cockleshell art centre which is about 10 min walking dist and the boating place whose entry gate is about 10 min away (mind you there are no Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay/homestay available after the entry gate). The host is quite knowledgeable and sane minded. The hostess was also very helpful she picked our bags when we arrived and departed. We had to ask her to keep them down out of embarrassment.

I chose the Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay after Reading many reviews regarding the Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay. It is quite serene place to relax with your partner. You can stay calm and happy. Cleanliness of the room is excellent. The only demerit regarding the honestly I felt was the path from the main road to the home stay, also there is no parking area. Overall I would give a rating of 4/5.

Right in the heart of Thekkady town, this homestay is one of the best budget accommodation I have ever stayed in Kerala. The rooms are nice and clean, the hosts are always eager to serve and they will happily guide you to local sightseeing options. The view of the Periyar Tiger Reserve from the balcony is wonderful. Don't expect 3 star facilities though, because this is just for stay and not for luxury.

I stay for two nights. Rooms were spacious with beautiful views from balcony from which we had seen 2 deer and 1 bison. Owner of the Homestay was very polite and helpful he gave good guidance to visit nearby place but 1 thing in cable TV only regional show were coming for which children were disappointed. Overall it was one of the memorable stay in Thekkady I will like to visit again and again.

Total 10 rooms, we occupied 3. It is on main road behind pizza am outlet. For parking, depend on main road as there is no facility. Another drawback is missing breakfast. Option suggested is owners brothers restaurant. Rooms are big with basic beds. Clean. Bathrooms are also big. National park boundary is same as home stay. We saw samovar deer and various birds seating in room. Recommended.

I have stayed here in May 2016. It's a very nice place with awesome view. The room numbers 3 and 5 gives even more better view. Go for it when you go to visit Thekkady. The rooms are very well maintained and very clean. I should particularly mention about the host Shibu. He is very helpful and makes you feel at home.

Very helpful hosts. Good service. The ambience and view from the room isn't very great if you are looking for luxury... But gives a homely feel. Can recommend it for good and small budget options. It is located in the market area.

Really very good stay. Value for money. Located at heart of city. WiFi speed is slow. But it's manageable. Surroundings view is ok. Room is very big and nice one. Gallery is very good. Transportation is very convenient. Pizza shop is very near by. Really worth for money.

River facing rooms are good. Very nice view from room. Manager is approachable and gentleman. He helped us to arrange Pariyar bamboo rafting ticket. Hotel is close to Pariyar Forest and main market. Many options are available for food, near by Kerala House | Rooms in a Homestay.

Home stay as it is mentioned. It was a house given on rent for your stay. The owners are helpful and can guide you for everything you want from shopping to sightseeing. Had good time and it is very close to Periyar tiger reserve entrance.

We stayed at Kerala House Homestay with family. Too much peaceful and spacious room. Very near to Periyar govt. bus stand. Owner too much helpful. Main market also close to home stay. Awesome memorable stay.

Very friendly host! The rooms are pretty clean and view is also very good. The facilities are very basic and Value for money! Location is also not very far from the main market. Would recommend for family stay.

We stayed for a day. The place was extremely clean and quite comfortable. The caretaker was very helpful and friendly. Overall we had a memorable experience staying over in Thekkady. Would definitely recommend for a perfect stay with family and friends!

This place is very good for family stay and owner is kind and helpful for our request and cleanliness is excellent.

It's a nice home stay, clean with all the basic amenities. Location is fairly good, near to the town and attached with wild life century. It is very near to the local restaurants so there is no problem of food options availability. Periyaar Tiger Reserve gate is just 200 meters away, so you can get everything you wish in this location. Overall it is a nice stay and very pocket friendly.

The place doesn't provide catering services .. But is well placed near the town eateries, and is just hundreds of meters away from the Periyar tiger reserve. The couple running the place have been great.
