Le Dupleix

We stayed at this property for 2 days. It was upgraded from deluxe room to pent house. We had to climb the stairs to the pent house (no complaints), but it's inconvenient to elderly people. The room has wooden flooring and covered with toughened glass on the sides. It had a poster bed and comfortable mattress. Clean and tidy. Bathroom and toilet were maintained well. Only let down was there is no ventilation or exhaust in the bathroom. It has a centralized AC duct. We opted for breakfast only option and it had both south Indian and English breakfast. Service is good and most of the staff were helpful. There's no car parking inside the property. We had to park in the street next to the property. I recommend this property. We had a nice time in Pondicherry. Also, it's quite close to promenade beach and other tourist attractions.

Hotel is part of sarovar group. Building is good with lots of places to sit out of the room to relax. The location is perfect as everything is walkable in about 20 min. I went in Jan so weather was pleasant but please note no car parking, you have to find your own way to park your car. Room are big and good but needs maintenance or refurbishment. Like no mirror in the room, bathroom mirror has no lights and edges in the bathroom was broken and broken articles can be removed. It's of no use. However the bathroom was huge. I stayed at the penthouse. The most disappointing part of the stay was the breakfast. Never had such a bad breakfast in this category of Le Dupleix. The best part of the stay was the location and the staff members service.

As the title states, the property has been kept authentic to it's origin. The renovation has been good, but could've been better. While the rooms are vintage, i wish the bathrooms were better. The kitchen run at le duple-ix is absolutely brilliant. If you're staying here, keep one meal in you itinerary to be at the Le Dupleix itself because everything is delicious. As for the location, being in the centre of white town, le duple-ix has benefits of being close to the rocky beach and numerous wonderful cafes (quiche and tarts at cafe dues arts is a must try. All in all, the price was a worthy one. Just make sure you don't set your expectations about the room too high. It is a vintage property after all!

Clean rooms and washrooms, and overall great service. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. They will make sure to address your queries and will leave no stone unturned to offer you a pleasant stay. The room we got was very different from the usual rooms you'd see in any Le Dupleix; nevertheless, it was amazing. And the food is mind-blowing over here, we mostly had north indian for dinner and all the dishes were equally delicious. If you're lucky enough, there'd be live music over the weekend. Not too far from the beach and other famous cafes that you'd want to visit in pondicherry. Would totally recommend this Le Dupleix if you're planning a trip to pondicherry.

When we checked in we got our pent house room. It was gloomy, the wooden side panels were in poor condition, there was water leaking from the ac and the bed linen was stained. We requested for a room change but the * (day shift) only said sorry. Later we again spoke to the gentleman (night shift) who heard us and saw the condition. Then changed our room. This new room was simply great. Neat, clean and airy. All things were in order. ( he explained that the earlier room due for upkeep and maintenance) still don’t know why it was allotted. But this gentleman helped and made our stay good.

I spent a night in this property with my family in july’23. The location is spot on; bang in the middle of white town with walking distance to the rocky beach and promenade. The rooms are also fantastic and the property looks splendid. However, the amenities fall a little short of a 5-star experience. There is no lift (room is on 2nd floor and with luggage it’s a hard climb, the walls are creaky and you can hear neighbours easily, and the window curtains didn’t close all the way to give me a dark room. However, i will return here given the overall experience

The best one in white town. It is an old duplex villa converted into a Le Dupleix. The property is small in the heart of white town and is near to every thing you need. Though small it is well kept and beautiful. The Le Dupleix is run by sarovar group and special mention about the staff especially miss ashwathy who catered to each and every of our requests however silly they were. They serve an excellent breakfast and the lunch / dinner at le dupleix is much sought after in pondicherry. Live music and a big waiting line is standard during weekend dinners.

We stayed in the le duplex for 3 nights and were really happy with the services. Some points worth highlighting: 1. At the reception we were welcomed by the manager prabhu and his team, very courteous and helpful. He gave us ideas on where to go and nearby places to visit. 2. Restaurant manager nizam and his team was super supportive and helpful, all order request were honoured. 3. Special mention to the chef subash, he prepared every dish to perfection. We ordered indian, italian, french food and every food was prepared really well. Highly recommended

We booked this Le Dupleix based on reviews. The deluxe room we booked was needed to refurbished. A/C was not cooling the room. Outside the rooms everything looks good but not worth the price.

Had nice stay but no elevator and we chose the penthouse. Found difficult to climb stairs ever time. Otherwise all good. Staff, location, food everything but give 100/100 to location.

The food is great & it is located in the center of the white town. The rooms were kept neat and clean. The staff was very friendly.

the property was nice scenic, and the staff was courteous. only thing missing was a buffet option for breakfast which should be worked upon.

I haven't come across a more courteous staff in the recent past. They ensured we have a comfortable stay, be it room service, restaurant dining or hospitality in general across the premises. Le dupleix is conveniently located in white town at a walking distance from the rock beach and has some renowned eateries like coromandel cafe and dues arts in its neighbourhood. Would look to stay over again.

This place is located at the central of pondi and everything is at walkable distance. This property is extremely beautiful, serene and most importantly staffs are extremely helpful and courteous.
