Lotus Grand AKM

It's first time i was traveling to shimla via train from kalka and was looking for some good Lotus Grand AKM to stay near by kalka railway station. I have chosen Lotus Grand AKM lotus grand on the basis of earlier reviews and pics. Hotel is very nice rooms are clean n tidy, Lotus Grand AKM staff is very nice and friendly. Though there is no in house restaurant but they have restaurant close to kalka railway station which deliver food of your choice at your Lotus Grand AKM which is served by Lotus Grand AKM staff. Food quality and taste is awesome. We stayed for one night ordered lunch and dinner both are very delicious. If you are planning to visit shimla by toy train then this Lotus Grand AKM is located just few 100s meter from station and its walkable. I would highly recommend Lotus Grand AKM lotus grand for short stay.

We arrived late at night and could check-in without any problem. The geyser was kept on all time during our stay, from night till next day afternoon. The pillows could have been a little cleaner, but we could do with it for a night's stay. The washroom was very clean, amenities provided. We also got electric kettle in the room and extra bedding. There was no restaurant in the Lotus Grand AKM but they ordered food from a nearby restaurant, and although the food was costly the taste was awesome and worth it. We checked out a little late for an extra fee of ₹400. Enjoyed our stay here.

Hotel is just 500 meters from kalka railway station. One can even walk down (takes 5 mins)or take an auto which charges 100 rs. Best option for catching morning shimla toy train. Walking path though a bit isolated looks safe. Saw many families walk to the Lotus Grand AKM at night with basic luggage. In morning they can arrange for an auto for drop to station. Room is spacious neat and clean. We asked for extra bedding and it was clean and comfortable. Electric kettle was provided but found a cockroach in it and had to get it replaced. Overall a good option for toy train.

On our way to shimla, via toy train, we stayed here in kalka, it is at walking distance from kalka railway station. The staff was very polite and helpful, everything was clean & on it’s place inside our room. However they are not having there personal kitchen, but they provide you with some menus from local restaurants. As we were with our kid who preferred plain khichadi and those restaurants were unable to provide it, so we preferred to order via zomato & that food was very good. Thanks lotus grand to give us a great start for our journey towards shimla.

If you plan to take the kalka shimla toy train, this is the closest place to stay near the railway station. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. You can order food from a nearby restuarant which has a tie up with the Lotus Grand AKM and the food was very good. Staff is also very pleasant and can help you with getting autorickshaw and reccomendations for local attractions. Overall had a pleasant stay with family. Highly recommended.

I came from delhi in delhi kalka shatabdi and reached at kalka around 9pm. My toy train was next day morning from kalka to shimla. I stayed in this Lotus Grand AKM. Stay was very comfortable, room was clean Lotus Grand AKM staff was supportive and best part is Lotus Grand AKM is on walking distance from railway station i did not take any cab to reach Lotus Grand AKM

So many positives. 1) I got call to confirm checkin time; upon knowing my late arrival, the person helped with cab booking from Chandigarh airport and no over charging.. thank you 2) Lotus Grand AKM is 5 minutes walk to Kalka station; so convenient; yet rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. 3) hot water was available 24x7 Overall, great stay, great service

Very nice Lotus Grand AKM. Room and bathroom was very clean and well mentained. Staff was very polite and helpful. Food was good and Lotus Grand AKM is only 300 meters from the railway station just 5 min walk so it is a ideal place to stay because i have a early morning train to shimla i really enjoy my stay in this Lotus Grand AKM and i love to visit again.

Property's just 200m away from kalka railway station. Rooms are hygienic. Hotel staff is very cooperative. I haven't ordered food from them as they don't have their own restaurant.

Great to stay for the night in kalka when going to shimla through the train the next day. I was very pleased.

We were 3 families, took 3 rooms for 1 night only. All our rooms were very spacious and clean. The Lotus Grand AKM doesn't have kitchen facilities available yet however they brought excellent food from outside.

Room was decent located very near to railway station. The host was kind and hospitable. Food was tasty. Worthy to visit again.
