Serene stay at machan plantation resort amid-st nature.

This is the perfect resort for a weekend getaway in sakleshpur. The town area is a best kept secrets and the machan plantation resort offers everything you need if you don’t feel like venturing out. About the resort: the resort is remotely located amid-st the nature reserve surrounded by mountains and paddy fields. It has clean lawns, infinite pool with a restaurant connected, beautiful clean cottage rooms and a huge plantation area all around wherein one can take a nature walk and spot birds. The resort has been very well designed in a way that one can get a splendid view of the mountains and nature from any part of the resort, be it from the rooms or from the pool or from the restaurant and even from the lawns. It was really serene and beautiful to wake up to the sounds of the birds in mornings. About the rooms: the rooms were well equipped with a sofa cum bed in-case you have kids along which in our case was very convenient. The bathrooms were spacious and clean with plush fittings. The bed was comfortable. The room had hair dryer, kettle wardrobe, working desk, led tv and a sit out area to enjoy the splendid view. About the activities: the resort management has a naturalist mr. Sumit who takes care of the treks, nature walks and bird spotting session. I must say mr. Sumit was very knowledgeable and friendly. On our first day he guided us through the plantation within the resort while explaining us in detail about the coffee, black pepper, cardamom and arecanut plantations and showed us around the artificial pond within the property. Followed by the sunset trek which was close-by and later getting down the trek we visited a temple which was believed to be built around 600 years ago and one of the eight oldest temples in the sakleshpur. The next day morning he took us for bird spotting. As we reached the reception hall, mr. Sumit was ready with his bird's ready reckoner, a pair of binoculars and a dslr. We started along with him in the resort and quickly spotted few birds like parakeet, plum head bulbul, fish tailed bird, tailor bird, wild crow and with every spotting he used to share us the information of that particular species. Then he also joined us for a nature walk again and showed us around the resort. There is a machan near the artificial pond where we spent some time listening to the birds. And later in the evening he again joined us to spot firefly. We spotted a few but he mentioned that this wasn't the right season for the firefly. Over-all it was a wonderful and knowledgeable experience with mr. Sumit around. Since our holiday aligned with the local festival pongal, we were lucky to be able to be a part of the celebration. Mr. Prasan invited us and the rest of the guests to be a part of the rituals and he also enlightened us with the significance of the festival. About the restaurant: the ambience of the restaurant was pleasant, the lighting was also good and since it is adjoined with the pool, one can sit near the pool and relish the food. The breakfast spread is decent, could have been better. The lunch and dinner menu are also mediocre, could get better on those lines. Over-all the taste was good. Since there were not many options around the town, this seems to be good. The pricing was also decent considering it to be a 4-star property. The approaching road towards the resort is under construction and hence would suggest the hassan - belur route. Beautiful memories of this place shall stay with me forever.
One night stay at one of the best places in Sakleshpur
Charan Raj
This place was booked in 2 minds thinking is too expensive? But after the stay, I can say that it was steal deal at that amount. This includes 3 times meal (the best includes soup, starters and desserts) a snack in the evening with coffee or tea, bonfire and a trek. Not to forget the rooms are very spacious and clean. So let me tell you how the day went, we reached an hour earlier than the usual check in time of 1 pm. We were welcomed with a refreshing drink, post moving into the room and getting fresh. We were invited for lunch, wow it was yummy meal to top it we were served with delicious rasgulla's for dessert. With a full tummy we chilled on the 1st floor of the restaurant playing a few board games and table tennis. At 4, we jumped into the infinity pool! (can be maintained better as there were a few flies in the water just because of the open space) What a view towards the valley, clicked a few pics and stayed in the pool till 5.30 (pool access ends at 6 pm). At 6 we were back in the restaurant for some lip snacking snacks. At 7 the bonfire was started which went on till 9-9.30 back to the restaurant again for awesome dinner and this time I was waiting for the dessert. And guess what they didn't disappoint me. It was gaajar ka halva. If you are a foodie, this is the place. We were told that the trekking team would arrive at 6.45 in the morning. So we had to go to bed. And one disappointment was there was no one at 6.45 am and the care takers number was switched off. So we didn't wait and left to visit Manjrabad Fort, which is 27 km from the resort. Once we were back, we were told that the trekking starts at 7.30 am. That was a huge miss we had. And we got fresh, got back to the restaurant for breakfast and this time the delight was neer dosa, the best i've ever tasted. Post breakfast we chilled at the pool area for sometime and checked out. Overall an awesome experience with friendly staff, would recommend this place anytime.

Machan is about 30kms from sakleshpur and the drive to the resort kindles your curiosity as we go through some serene places. Once we enter the resort, the check in process is a breeze and the staff is courteous. The walk up to the room blows your mind away as the backdrop is a huge mountain range and then the resort has a green landscape which blends well. Room is huge and extremely clean. The bathroom is extra clean and extra large with all amenities. Restaurant - they cook pretty much everything you need and kudos to the chef as everything we ordered was delicious. Service is another highlight as they are always checking upon you to ensure you have everything you need. Bon fire is a cool affair but they can make it a bit lively with some music or some other form of entertainment. Next day, sagar took us on a trek of lifetime, pandavara betta trek. We started at 7 am and first reached the foothill. Then a short climb up we reached a small but photo friendly temple. From there the climb to the hill starts and this can be a bit tricky & we really appreciated the effort of sagar who guided us in every step and ensured our safety and also clicked some memories. The view from the top is breathtaking and we never wanted to come down. Once we reached the resort delicious breakfast was waiting for us. Then we went up to the activity room above the restaurant. Billiards, carrom, table tennis and all board games are present and we had amazing time there. Swimming is pool is good and has infinity pool like structure. Deb (dev) took us on a plantation tour in the evening and explained the whole process with lot of patience and i was amazed by his knowledge of plants and the over all ecosystem. Thank you machan and staff for one of the most memorable time.
Excellent experience

Machan plantation was one of the best experiences of the resort world that we have experienced. We were a family of 6 with 2 kids under 4 when we reached machhan. Initially it was the breathtaking views of the property that knocked us out. You can see the western ghats from every inch of the property, the clouds passing through, the breeze and the greenery, it’s like a mini switzerland with a far more forgiving weather though. 1) cleanliness - the property was super duper clean with people working round the clock maintaining it. 2) pool - the pool has an amazing view of the mountains from it, was super clean, light and with hardly any chlorine. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool. 3) rooms - rooms were spacious with a sofa bed that can be converted into a bed for two people to sleep peacefully, so a room can accommodate 4 adults easily. The rooms again open out to a balcony/sit out with excellent views. 4) restaurants - the service was really late but the food made up for it, too class fresh food (atleast the vegetarian that we had, it felt like home food. The chef was kind enough to make adjustments for kids other nuances we had, the fresh juices were kickass. Though the variety at breakfast buffet was limited, the taste and quality made up for it. Service could have been a little better. 5) activities - the plantation walk, pottery, and morning trek was well organised and it was great experience to walk out and take in the fresh air. 6) staff - the staff was extremely courteous through it all from check in to room service to helping with our requests to check out. Overall machan was an excellent stay like a picture perfect postcard.
wonderful stay, mesmerising location, good staff
Pratish Patni
Very polite, helpful, and courteous staff. Special thanks to their manager, each and every staff member, and especially their chef for treating us to such tasty food. Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner were too tasty, with limited options. Big property but beautifully maintained. A scenic place with a beautiful view. The cool breeze, birds chirping and the rain were cherry on the cake. It is a very peaceful place where you can connect with your inner self. This place has a different vibe which could be felt only after staying here. Morning Trek was mind-blowing, The plantation walk was good as well, and a special shout-out to the Trek and plantation walk guide Mr. Sumit. We went on weekdays when the rush wasn't much, to celebrate our anniversary, the staff made our anniversary very special with beautiful decorations and yummilicious cake. *What could be improved:** The taste of South Indian breakfast can be improved and Idly, masala dosa can be added to the everyday breakfast menu considering the only option for vegetarians. They should have their resort vehicles like jeeps etc for morning treks, considering bad road conditions which are unfavorable for small vehicles. They can include a few more activities, although we personally did not feel the need, but could be more engaging for other guests. I can suggest this place as a beautiful weekend/weekday gateway near Bangalore, a perfect place for celebrating special events like birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Looking forward to visiting this place again ASAP
Sakleshpur Machan Plantation stay Oct 2019

Blur to Hassan good tool Road, Sakleshpur to Machan very bad roads - potholes and bumpy, neck to neck traffi. Resort is at fag end, but put GPS from start and it will take you correctly! Big space and still some works going on to renovate lawns, fountains, but not ready, rooms are neat and clean, very good furniture they have put. The food taste can be improved, they are not so good with Sambhar or Rasam! However the unlimited food and beverage are kind! Hotel staff is very very polite and courteous indeed, the place has lovely view, laid back atmosphere and nice evening snack with tea/coffee. Additional items you can pre-order and they will serve you at camp fire. The guys arranging camp fire are sweet! Swimming pool is awesome and good water! Small though! Overall, pretty decent place for someone who don't like too many people and wants a lovely quite weekend! It takes 4 hours 45 minutes to drive from Bangalore. Resort do not serve liquor, but you can carry and have at resort. Cricket, badminton, TT, carrom, chess available. They are planning bar and gym in coming days! Good for family outing and plenty of photo opportunity if you carry SLR or 1 plus. Hope this helps my fellow travelers.
Tranquil haven amid-st coffee plantations - a brief escape at machan
Aditya Khare
Our brief stay at machan plantation resort in sakleshpur was nothing short of enchanting. After a 7-day road trip, this sprawling resort emerged as the perfect haven for a day of relaxation. Nestled amid-st vast coffee plantations, the resort's limited number of rooms ensured exclusivity, allowing us to revel in a peaceful and serene atmosphere. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the gastronomic experience; the food was not only delectable but exceeded our expectations. The restaurant staff's warmth and accommodation added to the overall charm. Our encounter with mr. Dhanush, who led us on a bird-watching trek, was equally memorable. Despite the brief duration, his patience and informative guidance made the short walk a delightful experience. Although one day was insufficient to explore all that machan plantation resort has to offer, it left us yearning for more. The tranquility, lush surroundings, and impeccable service make this destination a must-visit. I am already planning a return to savor the full richness of this hidden gem. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for crafting such a memorable experience.
Machaan excellent property to stay near Sakaleshpura

We happened to get information about this property through online portals. Seeing at the pictures and short description of the property, I have decided to book for 2 night stay and my decision didn't disappoint me. This property is located in the midst of coffee plantations facing the mighty Western ghat peaks. View from balcony are amazing. There are totally 16 rooms divided in 4 block all are facing the peaks of nearby Hills. Behind the rooms at a distance is the dining hall and just in front of dining hall is the swimming pool. The Resort staff are very nice and they treat guests with at most care. As we happened to stay in the weekdays when the occupants are only us the treatment was much more special. A guided tour was arranged to the nearby peak (Bettada Bhyraveshewara temple peak) and that was excellent. Food was average. Breakfast items like idli and dosa were bad. But lunch and dinner menu was good. Overall a good experience and recommend others to stay. PS: There are hardly any locality in the working class, I request the property owners to give importance to local employee.

The property is a gem within vicinity of bangalore, well maintained and guests are warm welcomed. They have ensured good hospitality as well. Even food rates were reasonable considering the location and food tasted nice. Property has all facilities like indoor and outdoor games and pool was also clean. The patio provided outside rooms were also good as you can relax evening time there. For the scenic views it was far better than expectations and photographs. Had really good time there. Gem in the forest

Excellent service, calm atmosphere, friendly staff and great breakfast buffet. The cottage rooms were large with all modern facilities and a nice sit out area. The property itself was well maintained despite being in the forest. The lawn s were well maintained and there were a few activities as well. Would love to go again. There are only 16 rooms in a huge property so it can never get too crowded. Superb hospitality
Overall nice experience, had fun with family

Nice property, good food, polite staff and perfect place to detox in the middle of forest. Had a great stay!
Clean and calm place!
Rashmi
Calm and nice place to stay. They have a pool and a board game. Apart from that campfire for all the guests in the evening. A small trek in the morning can be taken along with one of the Machaan Plantation Resort Sakleshpur staff. It's few kms from resort. You would have to use your own vehicle to reach the trekking trail. Rooms were clean. Out of three rooms we booked, we had an issue with one of the toilets tap. Otherwise all of it us smooth. Breakfast was nice. Lunch and dinner was decent and can rate it as average.
