This is fair and unbiased review of the place, from an not experienced and infrequent traveler, who chose the location randomly and just decided to drive to it. The only thing, that made me take off one of the stars for the place, was the lack of non veg options in food varieties and because google wont let me take off half a star. But, then again, the food served here was better than what i got at the caves in heritage market, Kasauli. The place falls right in the comfort zone of the serenity that Kasauli holds, and is the best comforter for people who like to walk around and bask in the hilly surroundings. It takes about 15 minutes walk through the cantonment area to reach the Kasauli mall road from the home-stay. The short cuts do work, but they are mostly gravel and each a roads, so watch your steps unless you want to fall and splinter your knees and shins. And, once you reach the Kasauli mall road, just walk around and see whichever locations attractions suit your own hearts fulfillment. I have uploaded pick of the stay, with captions depicting each and every one of them. So, for people wanting to answer their questions about the location, and the parking woes, read up on them. Welcoming staff, warm owner greeting us at the end of the visit. Cozy atmosphere. Good getaway from the city life. It has it all, and is surely garnering another visit from me, if my heart desires a quick escapade.

I would definitely like to recommend this resort because of excellent location, cooperative staffs, excellent views from room and tasty food. The resort is in a very good location, walking distance from the Kasauli Mall and each cottages have excellent views of snow clad mountains. There are two one bedroom cottages East End and West Wnd, 1 two bedroom cottage and 1 three bedroom cottage. The two and three bedroom cottages has dining and kitchen area. The staffs are very cooperative in nature. They will provide support with whatever they can. Due to landslide we reached the resort very late but they arranged for dinner even after the order time was over. The caretaked helped me to carry the luggages to the room. The food at the resort is very tasty. The rooms ate very neat and clean with all amenities. Room heater is also present which is very needed during winter. The bathrooms are also very neat and clean. I would definitely like to recommend this resort to everyone.

I was touched by the warmth and hospitality received here. My daughter (8 yrs) and i came here at the tail end of our indian history tour, and this place felt like coming home. The location is one of the best in kasauli, with excellent views but safely tucked away from the sunrise view crowd. It is only a short (if steep) way away from the market and it is on the way to gilbert trail. The hosts are very kind and generous. They were very respectful to their guests, a quality i have come to value deeply as a single mother travel-ling with a young child. The caretaker is a very honest family who will go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. We stayed in the attic room which had great views. On one day when it rained, we watched the clouds go by. On other days, great sunrise. It's definitely a hidden gem of a homestay!

So i am an active traveller and check in to many 'homestays' to save some cost and do away with those usual high rise buildings/Mahal Farms Country Home | Rooms & Caretakers! mahal farms isn't a homestay but a proper resort - i really need to appreciate the owner and the staff for maintaining the property. Be it the rooms, the sitting area or the entire property - it's kept cleaned extraordinarily! although it's just beside long trees (jungle) and mountains, and is a pet-friendly stay, it's so so maintained that you don't get to see a leaf falling on the ground! and of course, the view - it's marvelous! my pet cat had an amazing time as well!

Mahal Farms offers a fantastic and cozy Home stay coupled with a great view surrounded by nature. Wake up to the chirping of birds and walk Around the property to get a real sense of the place. The care taker is very prompt and service is exceptional. The food too is very homely. We had egg curry and mix veg for dinner and omelette for breakfast. Everything was very good and cooked with care. The only drawback was the water refilling flow in the flush in our was room. It would take hours for it to refill once it was used because the flow of water into the flush was very slow.

Mahal farms is a beautiful underrated property in kasauli, covered in greenery and plants with spacious rooms and a fantastic view. There is even a living room and kitchen in the 2 bedroom cottage. The cleanliness was top notch. The place allows pets too and my shh tzu was super happy and relaxed at the place as there were trails around the place were i could walk him. If you’re on the fence about this place - book it without a second thought! it’s beautiful and peaceful and better than any Mahal Farms Country Home | Rooms & Caretaker.

Our stay for a few days was the lovely cottage home stay, Mahal Farms, with views that made waking up in the morning Worth it. A personal backyard trail, amazingly friendly staff and in-house kitchen and you wouldn't even want to leave your cottage. Since we landed during a week day, mishka and I had the entire place to ourselves and were free to be in our element of playing Around and just relaxing outdoors to soak up the much-needed Sun and the clean fresh crisp air.

Plan was to spend only one night, but due to weather we spent two nights their. It is a cozy, calm, near to nature place. Ideal for family and small groups. Owner Mr. Mahal is a great man, you would love talking to him. Staff takes care of everything you need. Kasauli market is just walking distance of 15 minutes from here, ask for the shortcut from Johny. You can catch a bus as well, buses are very frequent. Food was homely, simple, can be customised for kids.

Very nice place to stay with family. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. It was not very luxurious but that was more than made up for by the great attitude of care taker and his helps. The host also made us feel special. Very nice location and fantastic views. Value of money.

The place is one of the best that I and my friends had stayed in. The owner is very welcoming, we loved the whole experience.

Had a nice stay & got homemade food

Cottages are equipped with all the basic amenities. They serve freshly prepared simple but tasty Home cooked food. Location is safe. A short hike starting right in front of this place will lead you to the main Kasauli market. Overall it matched our expectations, and we had a comfortable stay.

Staff is very polite. Service is excellent. Room and washroom was very neat and clean. Situated near to mall road. Mountain view from rooms. I would suggest everyone to stay in this home stay you will definitely love this place.

There is no sunshine and there is no proper place to sit outside.

Awesome experience, very comfortable stay, beautiful view, tasty foods. Affordable price of both stay and food. Definitely want to visit it again stay here only if I planned next time to Kasauli. Others should definitely try go for this resorts...

Had a great stay at this wonderful place. The staff and the owner were really great. This place has an amazing natural feel to it with great view from almost anywhere on the property. Mall Road is at a 10-15 min walking distance. Would definitely love to be back here.

We had a great time in Kasauli mainly because of this home-stay. The best part about this home-stay is their impeccable service. To be a little closer to nature one should choose this as you can come out of your balcony and walk through the mountains. I think its location is amazing as it is downhill and allows one to enjoy nature.
