On my holiday to Srinagar with my family during the first week of May 2017, I stayed at Mahatta Home Stay at Rajbagh, Srinagar. The ambience of the homestay was very good with beautiful garden, rooms overlooking the garden, with 24 hours hot water, heated beds. It is a perfect place for a perfect holiday. I should mention about Anita aunty, who runs the home stay. The food was simply yummy be it, Lunch or Dinner. Aunty always kept us guessing as to the dishes that would turn on the table. Aunty who also runs a cafe in Srinagar including South Indian cuisine is an awesome cook!! Morning breakfast were very sumptuous which kept us guessing as to what would be churned on the table. The food was always served hot, innovative like pancakes out of besan, spinach, aloo, aloo parathas, poori baji to mention a few. There were also stuffed grilled sandwiches with different mouth- watering stuffings. My family and I are strict non- vegetarians. But thanks to the innovative veg dishes prepared by aunty, we took a special liking to veg food during our entire stay. Aunty even prepared muffins out of tender coconut, which were really awesome. The bakery dishes were eggless as Mahatta Home stay is a strict vegetarian. Apart from this, I can never forget the way Aunty took care of me, when I suffered a twisted ankle during our visit to Kashmir valley in Pahalgam. Aunty was very helpful and we always turned to Aunt's advice and suggestions about places of visit, restaurants that serve to the local kashmiri signature delicacies and local shopping as to saffron, badam (almond), walnut and must also mention about the travel arrangements that Aunty guided us. She saw to that we were totally at ease with the taxi, she arranged during our stay. The driver of the taxi of whom I should make a special mention (Mr. Mohsin Khan) who took me to the hospital for the treatment of my twisted ankle and stayed with us 12 midnight, in spite of him having to take care of his wife who his 8 months pregnant. He has now become our family friend. People in J & K are more compassionate towards the needs of the people which makes them beautiful not only by appearance but more by their heart. Before my visit to Srinagar, I had apprehensions with regard to the safety of my family and me. But after my visit to Srinagar, I now feel my apprehensions with respect to safety are baseless. On the day we left to Chennai back, I was totally at loss of words to say goodbye to Aunty, as at that time only I realised how much Aunty and I have bonded together. Today being a mother's day, I look up to Aunty as my mother and my stay at her place was like I was in my mother's place. Hats off to Aunty and her team, for her compassion and commitment with which she goes about her home stay. Once again I am at loss of words to thank her and recommend her homestay.

The Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant room rent was reasonable. The Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant location was very nice. The allotted room was neat and clean. Only vegetarian food was available in the Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant. I didn't check activity in the Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant. The best part of the Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant was dining hall I would like to recommend this Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant for other travelers.

I had been to Srinagar in June 2014 and I had stayed in Mahatta Homestay. Its really nice Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant it has really lovely garden and lovely staff as well I really liked the Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant. Go for deluxe rooms first if not available then go for standard rooms.

Very cosy property. Lovely services by the staff - prem. Food was extremely good in terms of taste, quality as well as variety. The property is owned by a punjabi and they only serve fresh cooked veg meals. The cook, bahadur, is very friendly and customises meals as per request; my husband had fallen ill and they took very good care with the food for him asking and checking on our health. A very cosy and homely feeling, great value for money.

Also owner is very cooperative. All sight seen place is access easily in this Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurant. In Kashmir at time of April is very good weather. In April we are seen tulip show in Kashmir it is excellent.

Rooms were spacious, regularly cleaned and we'll maintained. Staff worked like clock work, were very friendly and proactive in giving service. The property is beautiful with well maintained lawns and gardens. Food was homely and tasty. I recommend you eat twice a day at the stay. They are strictly vegetarian and still i ate there even though i'm a meat lover.

Spacious rooms , surrounded by well maintained garden. Good locality. Unlike regular Mahatta Home Stay| Rooms & Restaurants food is not avail round the corner.

Mahatta home stay srinagar gives a very homely and cosy feeling. The breakfast was good although the options were limited. It has a very scenic garden where you can get many pictures clicked. The owner and the staff are friendly.
