Mainland resorts and Spa by Kolaahalam

Location: location is within the main yercaud town, just opposite to government hospital and court facilities. Within 2 km's u will reach the yercaud lake, park and other major attractions. Ambience: the property is located on a hill slope and it's fully covered by lush greenery and trees. The Mainland resorts and Spa by Kolaahalam and reception side of things are good to watch, the other hill side is just shambles and best to avoid. Just opposite to the rooms are the big sloping green park where one can walk and spend some time. There is a small rabbit house and a open duck farm where kids can enjoy their time out with small animals. There is a small kids play area where kids can enjoy their time out. Also they have a 'science park' with 40 different activities for the kids to explore. Due to heavy rain during our visit, we couldn't visit the area. Entry fees is rs 250 per head. Rooms: we booked the deluxe room. All the rooms are of same size and it's as shown in the picture. Every room has a private seating area just in front of the door. I prefer to book in the higher floor to have a balcony view and have your own privacy. Room size is a bit small and has only 1 room with attached bath. Surprisingly the bath room is more spacious than the room. Rooms have a big wardrobe, sofa and tv with local cable connection. Every room has a electric kettle and tea/coffee kits provided everyday. The balcony is the major attraction where one can sit and relax the climate even when it's raining. We really enjoyed it. Restaurant: the restaurant ambience is very good, but the food selection is very limited. Morning buffet is somewhat ok. Room service is hit or miss type as in our stay, we found sometimes it's lightening fast and at times it's very late. Spa: they had a spa run by a group of professional team from kerala and basically it's call-off service ( call and book a slot for the spa services. I took a foot massage for 30 mins which costs 1100 including gst. For a full body massage it can go upto rs. 3500. Improvement's needed: the biggest let down in this beautiful property is their service staff. Majority of the time they are playing with each other with loud noise, they found not serious about their business. Food orders or material requested were not handled professionally and they just dump the things in your room by somehow. Since we visited in the weekdays and the number of guests are very less, we have expected a better experience than the one we experienced. One star less, only because of the staff behaviour. Other than that, a must recommended resort in yercaud.

Our's is a short family trip with 2 kids ( 2 adults and 2 kids of age 4 and 8. Pros - -resort is in heart of city and very close to lake -rooms are very well maintained specially housekeeping is doing a great job in keeping room and toilets very clean - kids play is a big positive in the resort along with some birds and rabbits in premises which keeps kids busy -campfire cons - your start in any resort depends on view which you get in the room. I requested for garden view but got a back yard which is not so great. I request the staff to change the room as there were some empty rooms with garden view, but staff didn't support me. I could see the same day they allocated the garden view to existing customers which made me unhappy, but no options left for me as i already did the full payment. I don’t want to argue with staff which will spoil my holiday mood. - i booked my stay along with meal. I was under the impression what they will have buffet but due to a smaller number of meals booking they stopped buffet and started serving in room itself. The menu is very limited for pre-meal booking. I end up with eating the same items for 2 days in the resort and they dont care about customer experience even after raising this concern. -food experience in this resort will depend on other customer's booking. If they have more bookings then you are lucky as they will arrange better menu else you will be impacted. - i paid the peak season chanrged but couldn't avail request request view room and food( dinner/lunch) but breakfast is good. -

We booked deluxe room with balcony for 1 night stay for 2 adults & 2 kids. Pros: room was spacious & clean. Bathroom was big with bath tub. Location & balcony view (facing the lawn & play area) was good. Complementary breakfast was decent. Staff service was good. Not much amnesties (except spa, but ok for the price. Choice of food at the restaurant was average & little expensive for the quantity. Peek u park (animals & birds) & sky park (adventure & sky bridge) are close by. Cons: though not a resort related issue, there is absolutely no mobile signal at the resort (all networks & very weak signal at times. Room wifi was good sometimes, but not stable, so be prepared if you want to stay here. Water in bathroom was muddy in color. They provide very old towels, but replaced with better ones on request. Verdict: decent 1 or 2 night stay for reasonable price. Not much entertainment available for kids, except the play area, but you can visit nearby parks.

Pros - Room is neat and clean, no complaints. Provided kettle, cupboards r available. room lighting needs to be improved. focus lights r very dull. toiletries like paste, brush, soaps, shower caps are provided. Breakfast is very nice 👍. camp fire arranged by them, when there is good crowed, we enjoyed. Cons - Restaurant is not available. they are telling it as under construction and we need to order food. very very minimal menu s available. Property maintenance required. you tube videos showing water stream is running .. nothing is happening there. High maintenance required. break fast provided in open area, though we enjoyed , not sure how it will work for elders, no seating provided and we need to sit in open area. Note - Budget friendly decent place for stay.

Let me list down positives: 1. Efficient and polite staff - always ready to go extra mile to help the tourists 2. Lush greenery within the property - can spend entire day enjoying the nature 3. Every room has its own private balcony 4. Location is good - only few min drive away from yercaud lake. 5. Food is good 6. There's a science park within the premises though entry is separately chargeable few points worth noting: 1. No mobile network in most rooms - it might be blessing in disguise 2. No wifi in rooms - obviously, since mobile network coverage is almost nil

Pros: excellent scenic property, staying like midst of forest. When you come out lake/town is just around 0. 7 km. Still away from hustle and bustle. Quick room service good food - breakfast, lunch, dinner view from balcony is excellent good kid play area excellent camp fire area cons frequent power cut, power backed up with generator immediatly, but there will be some 5/10 min lag. I hear yercaud has frequent cuts. Gravy was bit spicy for us, should ask for spice level when getting orders. But not overly spicy though.

Stay was pleasant and rooms were neat. Food tastes good too. Except for the lack of communication regarding the additional bed charges, i would rate high for the resort.
The stay was pleasant. Resort was well maintained and food tastes good. We were a group and there was a last min addition of member. When contacted over phone resort accepted and quoted additional pricing. But while checking out, the charges were much higher. Would not recommend if your pax isn’t planned.

food is average. faced animal problem (dog) repeatedly came to my room. recommended for location (situated in a good location) and weather(if you are lucky).. during our visit we enjoyed lot because of the location where resort is situated. we also enjoyed this stay along with awesome weather. unforgettable stay. however the food 🍲 is average. they need to improve in f&b(food and beverage) department. otherwise everything is good such as house keeping, maintenance, rooms.

Peaceful stay. We stayed for a couple of days, the rooms are quite spacious with a nice bathtub in the bath. Rooms were neat and clean. Environment was great inside the resort. Overall we had a nice stay 👍

the resort was good and the atmosphere and ambiance and it was full of positive vibes, friendly people and totally safe for family and couples, it’s a must visit for everyone, i’ll say it’s an experience everyone should experience 🫶. nice and comfy rooms with all the amenities and wifi was fast and the location of the resort was nice, food was amazing must try kolahalam signature chicken dish by chef kalai, it was tasty😋

Good stay and location, green surroundings and good food.

Visited yercaud for the first time. Booked kolahalam for the stay. Good big rooms, very courteous staff, nice tea, greenery, kids play area, bonfire for big groups, music n speakers provided. Ample parking space. Location is a bit remote. Need self vehicle. Food is average. But since not many options in veg food overall in yercaud. Hence can be called good

Resort with good ambience, good park for kids to play, nice food with quite reasonable price, neat rooms. Over all nice place for family stay

Food was good. Room is neat and clean. Service is late, if we order now, food will be delivered to your room after an hour. Which need to improve. Main cons - mobile network is not available. Wifi also very poor in room. May be this is good for people who want to stay away from their regular life. Over worth the money

Very good stay. Rooms are very nice. The Bath and washrooms are very clean and very spacious. The food needs a special mention. Very good food. We had sambar rasam rice curd for lunch and chappathis and aalugobi subji fir dinner. We did not have complimentary breakfast though. The restaurant is very noisy and claustrophobic and so we went out for breakfast.
