Mamalla Beach Resort

The Mamalla Beach Resort is located in a great place if you want to be close to Mahabalipuram itself without actually being in the middle of the crowd. Since it is on the ECR road, we actually just stepped outside the resort and waited for a share auto (Rs 10 per head) to go to Mahabalipuram bus stand from where we got a bus to Chennai, coming back. It took less than 10 minutes. Share autos are NOT very frequent so expect a 10 minute wait or so but its quite manageable if you have very little luggage. (Note: Ola and Uber are both not avail at the resort as of now so don't go there expecting to get one of these cabs back to the city. Fast Track taxis does have service to this location). The Mamalla Beach Resort itself: the rooms are huge and clean enough but don't expect five star quality. It is sort of basic but the ambience of the resort itself is really good. It's on the beach itself, in the sense that you just have to walk down to the rear of the resort and you are at the beach. I noticed that the beach that was right behind the resort was clean while further down it was quite dirty so if the Mamalla Beach Resort is actually cleaning up, a big thanks to them. You can actually see shore temple in the distance to your right from the beach and I think you can actually walk down to it along the beach. We walked up some half the distance, not difficult at all. Don't miss the sunrise. Food: Not great. Dinner was decent but very limited buffet options. Breakfast had fair options but definitely below average except the omelet, which was good. But considering that you get a breakfast plus lunch or dinner complimentary, I am not complaining. Service was good overall. Overall, would recommend if you are okay with clean and spacious but NOT 5 star accommodations.

Value for money. I went with my family and enjoyed a lot. As both our kids are adults, i feel its reasonable coparing with others resorts. This resort is 5mins from mahabalipuram. The deluxe room i was provided was excellent including bathrooms. In bathroom they provided small soap, shampoo, brush and paste (for 2) and for coffee(milk powder and coffee powder and sugar) fridge and kettle was available and in working condition. The swimming pool is well maintained. Noticed they clean the waters daily and taking samples of pool water in vials(i guess for some kind of water analysis) which made me think they take car of pool and its safe. The rooms are near and next to beach. Trees and lawn are well maintained. Because of this, when i come out of my ac room, i don't feel too much temperature difference outside. Because of this we can spend more time in the mornings in beach side sitting under tree shades. The restaurant is being renovated and we are provided food in tents with fan. Sometimes birds fly in and we are concerned about the food being snatched by the birds. The complimentary breakfast was good(3/5. The buffet lunch was available but comes with only 2 non-veg dishes rest of the soup and starters are veg only. If needed we have to order individually (i know in resorts individual menu items are expensive. Overall i had very good experience. We enjoyed a lot especially taking stroll in the beach mornings and basking in the serenity of the sea at night.

We have been to Mamalla beach resort earlier, about 4 months ago. At that time, we only felt that it was about an average property. What has made the difference this time is that, the rooms have been refurbished with wooden flooring and new fittings. It feels almost like a luxury villa now! As usual, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and help as much as they can. The Buffet Dinner provided is EXCELLENT - in variety for both veg and non-veg, and the taste too. And some of the Non-veg dishes were exquisite and costly generally - Crab and Squid! Beach is a private place almost only for the guests of the resort. Swimming Pool is well maintained, and large enough, with a kids separate area. Unlike the 'token' presence in other resorts, it was quite deep, large and well maintained. The only dampener in our whole stay was the Buffet Breakfast. It was not ready at the promised 7. 30 AM, with three dishes brought in only by 8. 15 AM The Dosa didn't have any salt in it, and the Raagi Dosa wasn't made up properly. But when we pointed out to the reception staff at the time of check-in, he took out a notebook and asked me to write my frank comments about all, promising to take action - again, a bit of good Staff service! For the deal we got in MakeMyTrip, every penny was worth its stay! Highly recommended!

The stay was very nice and we enjoyed a lot. The location is main plus point of this resort. They maintain good food quality. The Swimming pool is also maintained very neatly. The staff is also very friendly and supportive. Main point is the beach, this resort got a private beach which is also very neat and clean without any trash on the sand. I would suggest it’s worth staying here. One more thing I have to highlight here is the honesty of the staff, because we had left one purse and clothes in the room number 204, and we were reached Chennai and doing some shopping we were totally forgot about the purse and the clothes but I got a call from the resort and they said that we have left behind our belongings it shows their commitment towards the Customer service. We went back and collected the things and all the things kept in purse were intact including the cash. We were really happy. We stayed from Sunday to Monday.. We were newly married and the youngest couple in the resort.. Many eyes were glued to us(Common in TN)... Otherwise excellent place. Beach view from restaurant is awesome.. Read many bad reviews on cleanliness and food on the resort but all were good and clean.. Play area is not big enough... But for family visit its well adaptable(we don't hit resort to play for tournament so the play area is enough for the fun time), food worth the money.. Overall best. PROS:1) best location(restaurant on beach is awesome). 2)ROOMS well maintained(we had best not sure about other). 3)Can have your dinner table right on the beach(just 10-30 ft from beach). 4)Check in and check out is done in max 5-10 min(best). CONS:1) if you look too young and even if your married... People will have eyes glued to you(common in TN... Can be ignored). 2)Lack of indoor games is bit Please at least have table tennis it will elevate time spent to next level).

If you need a resort with a beach view and you get unlimited and easiest access to the beach also, then..? The beach is right next to the resort restaurant, at the back of resort. Huge lawn and garden just before beach, with ample sitting space. The whole resort is lush green with trees and gardens. Huge space to just chill and relax, with facing the ocean. All night one can hear the sound of waves. If you want to chill with family amidst the ocean, in the beach scape, this is the place. Rest of the resorts in town are either require a walk of half a km to the beach or do not have beach access at all, Unless you are super rich to book the 5star Radisson blu. The property's location is exactly as shown on the official resort website. (Just don't expect great food in the complimentary dinner and breakfast, it's not inedible, /unhygienic but neither world class too.

Positive: Closer to beach, Food is good and lot of variety, Swimming pool is nice, Room service is excellent Negative: Room atmosphere is below average, No indoor game facilities(like billiards and table tennis) On 09/12/17, I reached around 2:00PM, immediately they arranged room for us. Room was below average, room service is too immediately responding). We used swimming pool, which is too good. Restaurant gave buffet dinner and breakfast, which is very worth for money. Restaurant view is beach faced, sitting area in that restaurant is amazing. My Advice to Hotel: Improve Room condition, Arrange Indoor Games like billiards, table tennis, etc.

Superb location, because of the location, spent quality time with the family at the beach in the morning and after dinner. Enjoyed walking at nice lawn with palm trees at the beach side with a small promenade. Restaurant is just next to beach, enjoyed here more than some of the popular restaurants with beach view located near shore temple. Good property, people working here are friendly, ready to help, even allowed to check in early. Kids enjoyed swimming in the pool, but would like to request management to renovate swimming pool to make it more classy.

It's was very nice stay. We enjoyed a lot. Overall very good location and service by staff members. Kids enjoyed beaches and swimming pool. The resort location is very convenient. All important sites are nearby

Location 5, food 4, other amenities 3, aircon 1 only 2 plug points for charging, t. V, mosquito repellent and kettle. So you can only use 2 at a time. Rest staff is responsive peaceful calm place to chill with friends and family.

All the facilities were excellent. Our stay was enjoyable, and the food quality was great. The staff displayed a very friendly attitude at every level.

Memorable 2 days spent at this resort. The ambience will sure rejuvenate and help relax. Just on the beach. Food was very good and had a lot of varieties for both breakfast and dinner buffets. A la carte was very good as well, and they customized the food to suit the child's needs. Every staff is friendly, and do their best to make the stay comfortable. Will surely visit again.

Nice stay, location of Mamalla Beach Resort is very nice, but room interior are not too good it's like old, Mamalla Beach Resort manage to and staff behavior excellent, dry day create problems.

There Was big confusion while check in. Otherwise good experience. Buffet dinner had limited menu but food taste was good. Swimming pool is well maintained. Ample parking place. Nice view of beach from dinning area.

Very decent property to stay in ecr, food is available anytime with prior intimation and it is very good, especially the breakfast. Rooms are near and clean. Hospitality is awesome !
