Matha Forest Resort

My experience with matha forest resort is very amazing. The resort is down from the hill matha my room is with a amazing hill view amazing amazing...the staff good and humble behave attracts me a lot

Stinking room. Very small not worth the money they charge, delayed checkin by 2 hours, sub par and very small resort. When asked to cancellation even partially cancelled after having a look at reality they didn't agree and showed rude behaviour, food is also subpar. Families do not book this please. Please avoid.

Absolutely beautiful 😍!!! Absorb the surrounding scenic beauty with High Tea and Snacks / Breakfast (Complimentary)!Nevertheless variety is most welcome 🙏!!!! One thing is very important for those who wants to stay at the Top of Ayodhya Hills that Jio connection is required. Else you are in absolutely silence zone with Perfect Holiday!!!!!!

Me and my wife had a short stay of 3 nights and the experience was awesome. From staffs to ambience and the location, everything was really good. And especially the food, excellent.

The location was very good the property was maintained very nice very neat n clean staff were well mannerd atentive n food was very hygenic n was very tasty 🤤 🤗🤗

The property location was good with cloud covered hills in the backdrop of the long grass lawns. The food was average but service in the restaurant was not at all good.

Pros: View from the property is good. Staff is polite and caring. Front office staff Debasish is very helpful. Cons: Food quality and taste needs to improve.

I recently stayed at Matha Forest Resort and had a mostly wonderful experience. The location is absolutely stunning — nestled in nature, with scenic views, peaceful surroundings, and a very relaxing atmosphere. It's a great place to unwind and disconnect. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained. I appreciated the comfort and the thoughtful layout. The resort staff were courteous, helpful, and responsive throughout the stay. The breakfast buffet was a highlight — good variety, fresh food, and nicely managed. However, I felt that food prices overall were quite high, especially for lunch and dinner. While the taste was decent, the pricing didn’t always match the quality or portion size. Making food more affordable or offering meal packages would really improve the experience. That said, the natural beauty, good service, and peaceful vibe make this place worth visiting — especially for a short getaway. With some tweaks to the food pricing, it would easily be a 5-star experience.

We got the most expensive tents. Like usual the curtains inside the tent were not clean. There were two separate beds not a single double bed, not suitable if you have a child. Non veg food was very bad which we had for lunch, veg food was quite the opposite. So, go for veg food. Breakfast options were good. Overall experience too expensive for the standard and quality.

we had a decent stay. The rooms are quite large, and have a good view. The property was neat and clean. However, I have a reservation against the food. The food was tasteless and the price was on the higher side.

Overall experience was really good. They arrange Purulia native dance -Chou nach which was the highlight of this stay.

We were a group of 12, school friends and their spouses, travel-ling by road from kolkata, who spent 3 nights here in 6 tent houses over a weekend. We simply loved the resort. Everything from location (in a secluded area with splendid views and about 20 minutes to ajodhya more at the foothills of the ajodhya hills, to facilities to service is excellent. The breakfast spread is quite exhaustive and the meals are also quite good and reasonably priced. They also organized chhou dance programmes on two evenings. The senior staff are cooperative and were very helpful in our local tour planning. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed for 2 days from 9th Feb'25 at Matha resort. It was a really amazing experience in our Purulia trip. The property was very beautiful for their location & decoration.They offered welcome drinks at the time of check in. We stayed at the cottage & the room & bathroom was clean. The garden & common area's ambience was very nice at time of evening. They have also beautiful pool & well maintained. The main part was their food, every items were available as per their menu card & they cooked very tastey & delicious food and in breakfast there were so many options to take & live counter was also available for dhosa. Overall it was really value for money and must be recommended for all and wish to stay here again.
