Matha Forest Resort

We stayed for 2 days from 9th Feb'25 at Matha resort. It was a really amazing experience in our Purulia trip. The property was very beautiful for their location & decoration.They offered welcome drinks at the time of check in. We stayed at the cottage & the room & bathroom was clean. The garden & common area's ambience was very nice at time of evening. They have also beautiful pool & well maintained. The main part was their food, every items were available as per their menu card & they cooked very tastey & delicious food and in breakfast there were so many options to take & live counter was also available for dhosa. Overall it was really value for money and must be recommended for all and wish to stay here again.

Even a discerning traveler would love this property for its strategic location right next to the hills. It is a well maintained property with most of the amenities for a comfortable stay. They also get 5 out of 5 for prompt service, good behavior of the staff and tasty food. Since it was winter, they served the breakfast buffet in the outdoor lawn area, which we loved. My only suggestion for them would be to install a swimming pool heating system, so guests can enjoy the pool in the winters.

Rooms are spacious, cleanliness is optimal, location is fabulous, overall service is excellent. However, one thing needs close attention - the food price! the food prices are simply absurd and exorbitant. We were forced to have meals outside from a local restaurant nearby, which is called Sankupi Cafe. Just to put things in perspective, just one portion of rice costs Rs.159 in the resort restaurant, whereas a full thali meal costs Rs.120 at Sankupi Cafe.

The stay was very nice. The Matha Forest Resort is in a veru serene location. Staff were very helpful. Food quality was excellent. We were having senior citizens with us. Hotel staff helped us out of the way. Evening cultural events were added attraction.

Property is well maintained. Food is little bit costly and can be shared between 2 people. Service is good only thing is they need to add variety in evening snacks, currently they are serving masala muri every evening.

we had a decent stay. The rooms are quite large, and have a good view. The property was neat and clean. However, I have a reservation against the food. The food was tasteless and the price was on the higher side.

Overall experience was really good. They arrange Purulia native dance -Chou nach which was the highlight of this stay.

Food quality and taste are not up to the mark

Place was nice, ambience was great. But the breakfast was not upto the mark sorry to say.

Resort is located literally in the lap of the nature, scenic beauty of the place can be enjoyed from the balcony itself. Stay is comfortable. Food is a bit expensive.

Amazing location. Courteous staff. Excellent rooms. And a wide variety of food options. Definitely the best choice for a holiday in purulia / ajodhya pahar

Excellent service overall. Great view from the rooms. A relatively small issue is that breakfast service starts a bit late at around 9am and goes on till 10:30am.

In short the property was extremely good in all respects. I enjoyed the vacation well. Willing to visit again.

Very courteous staff. Excellent location. Food average and spread focused on bengali food. More ready information regarding exploring surrounding spots desirable.

The resort is very neat and clean. The ambience is too good. The food and each and every staff of the resort were very good, polite and well mannered.
