Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, Gopalpur-on-sea

The property’s location is excellent, and its sprawling spaces are beautifully designed for the functionalities appropriate for a quiet vacation. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully equipped. We had an ocean facing room with a spacious deck complete with a diwan and a fully equipped mini bathroom which can be used immediately after coming from the beach. The decor is thoughtfully planned with a mediterranean theme. The staff is well trained- though we noticed two sets of staff with differing proficiency ( understandable since many of them are local hires. The a la carte menu is limited but the order was handled well as per our instructions, though it was pricey. The breakfast and dinner included in the room rent were good and had a sufficiently large spread. The private is beach well maintained and lighted at night. The lifesavers were nice and competent ( though they were grumbling about poor pay. The beach was glorious all day. When it rains the staff were quick to provide well stocked umbrellas. The staff on the whole were courteous and helpful. The only problem we had is in plumbing. The hot water supply takes too long to realise that the geyser works. We had to call for maintenance which came promptly when called even past midnight. Of course it turned out that it takes a lot of flow for hot water to arrive - the explanation was that they have a solar heater and the pipes are long. The water to the bathtub was smelling probably because the supply to the tub had not been used for quite sometime. Otherwise it was a spacious and nicely equipped bathroom. All in all it was a wonderful stay. A pleasant surprise was that they had provision for a drivers’ dormitory along with food for rs. 2000. Our driver only complained about mosquitoes at night. The return gift was a large conch-shell which actually could be blown to make the auspicious sound that hindu families so love.

This property is one of the best maintained property i have been to recently. It has maintained his old legacy of many years of hospitality while giving it a contemporary modern touch. They have an old wing and a newly constructed new wing at the Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, Gopalpur-on-sea. The new wing has big spacious rooms and have a new modern and quaint look. There are enough activities to keep you occupied in the property. Their beachfront is fantastic with two level sitting area that allows you to enjoy the beach as you may wish. The access to the beach with water sports activity is enough for kids to be excited. The well manicured lawns, the big boat as a remembrance to the cyclone and gift from the ocean gods stand majestically placed at the green lawns. The staff is extremely courteous and ready to help at all times

It was a pleasant stay for us. The place is kid-friendly. But we observed certain lack of coordination among the dining staffs when we ordered kid’s meal. A senior staff mentioned that there are options for kids’ meal, another young staff mentioned that kids’ meal means only khichdi. Whatever else we can order for a kid will be chargeable. The place seems to be still in transition mode from oberoi to mayfair journey. Colonial glamour and contemporary demand for loudness (loud dj music by the pool, for example) cannot coexist peacefully. We hope that transition will take time, but maintain the heritage of the first beach resort of india. It is not about ticking the checkboxes for a five star status. Some of your staffs need professional training, boom in hospitality industry is more recent than the palm beach heritage.

Highlights: * comfortable and impeccably clean property * attentive staff who fulfilled all requests * delicious food areas for improvement: * limited breakfast buffet variety (repetitive both days) * staff communication could benefit from increased clarity and courtesy * restriction on outside food options might be inconvenient for extended stays (outside food is allowed in all major Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, Gopalpur-on-sea chains) * lack of covered parking resulted in car damage (bird droppings) overall, we had an enjoyable stay at the Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, Gopalpur-on-sea. The property itself was excellent, and the staff was accommodating. However, a few minor drawbacks could be improved to enhance the guest experience.

The location is the beat the property is just amazing food is great and if you don't like or want to customize it you can ask for it they cooperate and do accordingly. The staffs are too good. The ambiance both the swimming pool, the sea side and most beautiful is the open pub with the sea view. Best place for kids and elders. You will just love the place if you go with your friends in a group. The rooms are very neat and clean and large in size and the washroom is just lovely. Include dinner buffet and breakfast during booking it will be economical. Carry you own alcohol coz bar gets closed around 10:30 or 11:00 so you need to have your top up, and it is also economical to carry you own excise goods.

This property is located on the sea beach. Great location and beautiful calm and quiet surroundings. The Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, Gopalpur-on-sea has developed new guest rooms which are spacious, cosy and beautiful. The wash rooms are large and cool. It has a large balcony too. The food is delicious and the breakfast spread is awesome with variety. Room service is great. Reception service requires improvement. Should have more space for parking. Two swimming pools are there, to enjoy and cool off. A high deck bar, children playing area and activity area, everything you need is present here. We had a great and pleasant stay here. Would highly recommend the property.

Great stay. Mayfair as usual has always maintained their service standards. It’s one of the best in class. The property is beautiful with all amenities. 2 pools, indoor games area, great rooms with wonderful interiors ( even the bathroom interiors are great ) and very spacious. The buffet breakfast was amazing( though the english breakfast could have been much better. It’s always advisable to go for south indian breakfast preference when in berhampur area. The beach and pool timings are a bit restricted (till 6pm, but allowed till 7 in the pool. Overall a great place to have your stay. A bit pricey but you won’t regret spending that money.

I stayed with my family for 2 days. Located at a super location with private beach access. Property has an awesome ambiance. Just loved it. Food - if you're not planning for any outdoor site seeing them include buffet while booking the rooms(you'll get buffet in a discounted price. Buffet dining and ala carte and inhouse dining are too costly for a middle class family. Fyi outside foods are not allowed. However i ordered inhouse dining as i have a small kid and the food tasted awesome. Parking - don't park your cars below the tree else next morning you have to do full water servicing.

The property is very beautiful with spacious bedrooms and clean washrooms but the food and service is not up to the standard.

The stay was wonderful due to the warmth and hospitable staff. The Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, Gopalpur-on-sea has a clean and hygienic environment along with the beautiful view of the sea, and the various artistic nooks and corners at the Mayfair Palm Beach Resort, Gopalpur-on-sea. The library has an awesome collection of books. It was a most enjoyable weekend in the company of waves and warmth.

This resort is a neat resort just by the sea. Staying here is a one of a kind experience. Rooms are large, clean and well maintained. They have a good play area for kids. Gym, library and an adult indoor game area add value to your stay. Breakfast and dinner buffet spread is decent. An overall must visit.

Best location on the gopalpur beach. Food - north indian and thai is good. Veg pizza was pathetic. Very courteous employees

Celebrating our anniversary at palm resort, mayfair gopalpur was an enchanting experience. The resort's easy access to the serene sea beach provided a picturesque backdrop for our special celebration. The highlight was the delightful evening tea, adding a touch of elegance to our memorable stay.

Everything was excellent except the ladies wash room at the swimming pool area which was in terrible condition. Otherwise all are excellent
