Great Homestay in Spiti

Everything was great. Nice family, homely environment. My kids were really happy and they were playing with the kids around. Family was very supporting. Overall the stay was excellent. Will book the same homestay next time

Things need to be sorted out

It was a poor experience. Property owner didn’t honoured our booking and shifted us to under construction home stay. That accommodation was also closed and we have to wait for 1-2 hours in sun. Property care taker was a lady and was first time receiving guest. She connected us to owner and payment was settled amicably.

Denash Singh Ji unfortunately this was the worst experience of the last 10-15 years. Though he was a doctor by profession, his conduct was as if he had not bought a homestay book. First of all he behaved very rudely with the lady owner of the homestay who was of the same age as his daughter. And the next day he ran away without giving money for food and drinks. And you are talking bad about us. The peace and environment of us pahadi people gets disturbed because of guests like you. We have an experience of 12 years and no one has had such an experience till date except you. Homestay means staying with family and experiencing the culture here. Give love and you will get love.

The hosts were a couple who primarily manage the homestay and have some staff for the chores. We reached quite late in the evening around dinner time. They had it all set-up for us, the rooms were cozy, big and clean. There's a separate room to have food which has heating on at night. The food was simplistic yet tasty, given the preparation was thorough and presentable. Truly felt like home! however, we had to share bathroom/washroom with people, so it was bit of a challenge there. The stay is 1 hour + from kaza and it's recommended not to travel there when the sun goes down.
