OmBodhi Retreat

The resort is situated quite a distance away from the Town of Gokarna. At first we were skeptics about staying at the place when we reached there, mainly due to the proximity from the Town of Gokarna, but don't let the distance be the deciding factor as the Retreat is simply awesome. Right from the rooms to the location of the Retreat, and the staff who are always at your service. The closeness of the Retreat to the nirvana Beach makes it exclusive. The food is simply finger licking good, to top it all off the staff and specially Mr dines h and Mr. Manju make you feel at the comfort of your own home. A special thanks to them for arranging the candle light anniversary dinner for us which was a nice gesture on their part, but speaks of the depths of hospitality which they deliver to make your experience even better. If in the future I get a chance to visit Gokarna my option will always be Ombodhi Retreat. As they ensure the stay is always a memorable one.
Stayed in the superior Beach facing room it was amply spacious with all the amenities in place. Only one negative there was no dressing mirror. The balcony was sufficiently big and provided an awesome view of the Sea. The washroom as well as the room were very clean.

Good things first. Property is quite huge hence lot of space to roam around. Beach is just in front and you can really spend a quite time in the morning and evening. Gets hot after 9 am if there are no clouds. Property is quite new so fittings, furniture and electric equipments are in perfect condition. Beddings are a treat and you can be sure of a nice peaceful sleep. And in evenings you can have perfect candle light dinner. Overall a nirvana experience. Now some suggestions for improvement. Retreat could do well with some live music in the evening. Also some more options in food menu. Pl know that you don't have any eatery nearby so you have to depend upon restaurant food which is good and reasonably priced. I was told that their main chef is down with some medical condition otherwise the food is supposed to be very good which is ok since what they served was above average still. So if you want a quite vacation with your family and friends this place is just right for you. Far from the maddening crowd.

A really nice property, nestled in nature, with direct access to one of the best beaches on the west coast. This property is on the south side of gokarna and away from main gokarna town and om beach. However, it is perfect for a relaxing beach stay. Managed well by the staff and the photos do not justify the property. We stayed on the beach side room number 12 having a balcony and was on 1st floor, and it was room only package. Food available on payment at the beach adjacent restaurant and they serve delicious food. Service is fairly fast, given the number of tables they were serving at a time. Everything we tried was good and freshly made. We also spotted couple of peacocks on the property itself. The beach is big, private and safe too. Rooms were neat and clean. Carry your own toiletries though. Also, carry insects repellent that can be applied on clothes. Beach is perfect for playing beach volleyball, cricket, etc.

This is a nice beach side resort. You can choose this OmBodhi Retreat, if you are interested in spending some time on the beach side and be away from the overly populated areas. The food and stay were both good. My family liked the prawns curry the chef has prepared. The room and washroom are spacious and very clean (which was very impressive in spite of poor occupancy). The good thing is there are lots of staff even when it is sparsely occupied. The food was good in terms of its taste and very well priced. Good thing there is no tv in the room, which means you can get some good quality time with your near and dear. Only flip Side with this OmBodhi Retreat/resort is, it is not in Gokarna. The Gokarna temple is 42 km from the resort (do not believe the 14 km ferry route that Google maps is showing). If you are here only for spending some good time, then you can certainly bank on this property.

We stayed here with group of friends boys n girls. They have beautiful rooms especially the sea facing rooms. Very nice room with clean washrooms with all basic amenities available in room. The OmBodhi Retreat staff and manager are very approachable and helpful and polite. Food options are bit limited with some time limitations however you can pure order and have your food later. You can sit in the sea facing lounge while night if you wish to and enjoy with your friends. No drinks available if that is what you are looking for but you can get from outside and have there icebox provided by OmBodhi Retreat on request. Very good place and peaceful for family, friends and couples and safe as well. Nice parking space within the premise for 4 wheeler's and 2 wheeler's. Highly recommend this property as we really enjoyed our stay and would surely visit again.

We reached to the cottage at around 4 pm. My wife and son was thrilled to see a cottage on the Sea beach. It’s almost a private beach for us. The caretaker Mr. Madukar, welcomed us. The cottage is fantastic. Every item available in the cottage is carefully crafted and that makes the cottage beautiful. The balcony was facing to Sea and the sound of water was so pleasing the whole night. They do not have TV and that the best part. The kitchen is unique as well. They have separate utensils and kitchen for veg and non-veg, which is quite unique. The taste of food is awesome. Though the charges are a little higher but trust me, it’s taste and freshness is amazing. The dinner is the beach is the ultimate experience. It’s far away from Gokarna, almost 40 km from Gokarna. Overall it stays in Ombodhi was an amazing and wonderful experience.

Property is neat & clean. Perfect if prime objective is to enjoy the beach. Beach is very clean, free of litter & safe. Ample number of hammocks & beach beds are available for relaxing. Volleyball net available on beach. Don't remember seeing any indoor games though. Garden view cottage where we stayed was tidy, spacious, A/C with basic toiletries. Thoughtfully, taps are available outside cottages to clean up oneself & clothes instead of messing up the room after beach play. Food at restaurant was fresh, but menu is limited. Service at resto can be quicker. Overall, good & affordable place for those who want to truly enjoy the beach, have a good time in group, without paying for luxuries which are really not required.

It is a good place to stay with a private beach which is very clean. Rooms are also good although bit small but good, washrooms were clean. This place is away from city crowd so very peaceful. Two things which can be made better are food and beach area. Food here is costly and there are very limited options as you are away from city so you will have to go with options which they have. Beach is very clean I must say they have also put out benches but if there is a bit of lighting during night at the beach it would look heavenly. We sat at the beach during evenings the sky looked very clear and full of stars.

Located in kumta, far from gokarna (by road, approx 42kms) but the best place to chill. Well managed property thanks to agnil and arun. Food is superb, amir will serve you with smile and can recommend you the best dishes. Beach is very clean and kind of private as you will find no one on it. Great place to sit out sit out and enjoy your vacation.

It was a pleasant stay, very calm, peaceful, and loved it up to maximum. Staff is very good and polite. Food is expensive but the quality of the food is very good. Who love Beach with silence, for them it is the best place. I had been to Om Beach as well but that is nothing in from of the resort Beach. With out thinking second thought you can visit this place.

Nice rooms, nice staff, nice location just next to beach but one drawback food service is bit slow that too i think will be overcome rest awesome experience

It's a wonderful resort, facilities are superb, I loved it. Only North Indian food is here, please give South Indian food also other wise nice resort.

This is one of the best resorts around in Kumta/Gokarna with exotic beach view just on the doorstep, the staff is also very warm, courteous and cordial. Sagar and Anurag who I had most of the time being served with food and other things. Very pleasant, calm, clean, serene and in nutshell 200% value for money.

I and my wife stayed there for two days during our solo bike ride. The resort is calm and staffs are extremely helpful.

The location is fabulous. You have a clean and picturesque Beach all for yourself. The sunset was amazing. The surroundings are clean and beautiful with beautiful birds. The food, room and the staff all were amazing. I would certainly recommend this place.

Comfortable and peaceful stay. You can enjoy sea from your room but little outside from Gokarna.

Highly recommend this place for any age group. But make sure fact is that it is little away from Gokarna. I travelled through bike which is 14 kms. Food was good. But not much sea food varieties Room and toilet is very clean. Private beach and sun set is really cool and an this price we don't get anything in Gokarna.

If there's a place to stay in the world, this is it without an iota of doubt.
