OTDC Panthanivas Barkul

First of all i preferred stay at barkul panthanibas for it's locational benefits. Chilika view balcony experience with a hot coffee in hand was superb in the morning & evening. Room service and dining experience was also very satisfying. Especially morning exactly at 7 am the service man would knock with hot tea/coffee at the room and serve. Boating arrangements would be taken due care by counter people and would call before time to reach near the lunch. Morning breakfast and tea/coffee is complimentary and tasty. Servers behavior and attitude was excellent. Manager was quite friendly. Last but not the least our stay was very very pleasurable. I would suggest my friends and relatives to try a stay at panthanivas and food_lunch and dinner_ positively here and what's more.

2 night stardom 12th to 14 dec 23. Location shown on map was 30 kn ahead. Wrongly shown. Roo was not ready at 430. Location was the best. Room was facing lake and linen, towels were so good and beyond expectation. Food was very good and very moderately priced. Services were tremendously slow even though the attitude and helpfulness was overwhelming. I think that slowness is the characteristic of the region. The state utility has made all efforts and investment to make it like lykury class but the local staff inherent aptitude is miserably lacking.

On our way to gopalpur-on-sea, this was a night's stopover and we arrived around 4. 30 in the evening and the place looked empty. On enquiry, the help was prompt in reaching us to our rooms which overlooked the chilka. The stay was peaceful and the room service (we did not ask) looked adequate. We are not the finicky types, but the place looked pretty clean and well kept. Next morning we took a ride, arranged by otdc, on the chilka. Not as eventful as on the satapada side though. But offering puja at the kali j oi temple was an added experience.

I booked the place reluctantly as i was told that the location is excellent but the services would not be upto the mark. But all the tables were turned when we reached there. They gave us all the vip treatments, the staff was so so helpful. They also guided and provided with different boats to nalabana bird sanctuary, a kali temple on island, visit to otdc rambha chilika and site seeing by boat from there. They also helped us to get sabudana and make khichdi for fast (mahashivratri. So happy with their hospitality.

Otdc panthnivas is located right on the chilika lake and is ideal place to stay in barkul. The balcony opens to a full panoramic view of the lake and the jetty. We were able to walk up to the lake, see the sunrise, hire a boat and visit mama kalijai temple. We stayed overnight, finished the tour by 9 am and proceeded to p uri by 10 am. The OTDC Panthanivas Barkul is accessible by auto and the auto service is good. Food at the restaurant is good, hygienic and served fresh. The prices are also very competitive.

Great location, good food, above average amenities, good service for a government owned property. The speed of service at the restaurant needs a huge lift though. Also there could be a better coordination between the boating club and the property as both are owned by the government. We had to return without boating as there was no prior intimation.

We had a great stay in barkul for a few days. The staff was quite helpful and the manager particularly kind. The location of the panthanivas OTDC Panthanivas Barkul is exceptional for someone wanting to go bird-watching ! and also very close to the habour for the kalijai temple trip. We' ll definitely come again !

It was a short family vacation stay of 1 night at barkul. We booked deluxe rooms. Staffs were extremely courteous. Food was good. Service was excellent. There is a water sports complex attached to facility which is good. Boating facilities available to chilika islands from the facility itself

The property was maintained properly but the staff there were very friendly and they made our stay very homely the best part was the morning tea served in the room breakfast was awesome.

Value for money with good food. But service is slow. We asked for early breakfast on our check out day. They assured us that it will be served early but when we asked the next day, they said they are yet to prepare. So we left without breakfast.
