OTDC Yatrinivas

The location of the property is its usp. It’s just 600 metres from the heritage sun temple. Standard rooms are value for money. The executive rooms are bigger and nicely located within the property, however, one might question the condition a bit. The furniture is old and worn out, and looks very basic for the price one pays. There’s ample parking space for your four wheelers. And people could take there cars right next to their executive rooms. Coming to the food, the condition of the restaurant is okay, just like a govt canteen. However, surprisingly the cost is value for money and the quantity too is decent. The taste was fine to suit non spicy taste buds. The property could work on the menu and the service a bit. They offer complimentary breakfast which is mostly puris and chana curry and parathas. Overall a decent stay if you i tend to stay for the light and sound show at the konark temple and prefer to visit a secluded and clean beach like the chandrabhaga or kich is just 4. 5 kms from the property.

When you enter OTDC, you can feel the spirit of welcoming. It’s on the outskirts hence you don’t get much of the crowd-noise. The rooms are welcoming with clean sheets & clean blankets on display. Every bathroom comes with a geyser & if you’re given one with a faulty one, you can ask for a fix or a room change. The aircons are a bit dated but they work fine. One factor which irks me is the massive number of mosquitoes. They should ensure that every room is equipped with liquidators & repellents. It’s quite disgusting to see mosquitoes flock inside your room through the bathroom. The next fault is the slow functioning restaurant. The food is great — no complaints but the service is pretty slow. You might have to wait 30 mins sitting even if you PRE-ORDER. Otherwise, it’s a place where you can relax, refresh yourself at affordable rates.

Very good and comfortable rooms available. Good environment. Resturant inside the OTDC Yatrinivas take a lot of time to serve. And are also careless about the food they serve. We were served cold fried rice and later got it replaced with the good one. Resturant keeper could not even speak hindi or english properly. He wasn't speaking at all. Complimentary breakfast quantity is very less for a average man. Lazy staff! dint remove footwear while entering room. Didn't take my booking details while checking out and later he came to bus stand and picked me back to OTDC Yatrinivas to give him details. That was definitely annoying! overall good facility and good rooms. Staff needs to be well trained and need to be professional

Staffs are gentle. It is far better than a govt owned institution. Had a pleasant stay. Being very close to konark sun temple we had both visit & light show. The odisha haritage pradarshani & display was really worth. All these were possible due to the perfect location of the property. Above & all we could enjoy the morning sun rise at chandrabhaga in the early morning. The hot water bath in the OTDC Yatrinivas after sea bathe was enchanting. The house keeping part is well organised and generating homely environment. As a whole even though we had a short stay of two families mine and friend, the trip was excellent. The late night sit out under full moon surrounded with dim lighting in the garden was enchanting.

It was a very value for money OTDC Yatrinivas but there were some issues which i have to highlight here. 1. Mosquitoes. I killed around 20-25mosquitoes in the evening time only. There are innumerable mosquitoes in the property 2. The gap under the door. This was specific to room 310. The gap was so big that mosquitoes could enter easily and a cool wind was blowing in from outside all the time other than this the room was very basic and no -nonsense room. I loved the behavious of the staff and the arrangements there. The food was absolutely homely and simple and not too heavy. Loved the preparations. The location is unbeatable for those looking to spend a good time there. All in all a good experience.

Otdc yatri nivas in konark is a large and beautiful property bang opposite konark sun temple. The rooms are small but so is the tariff! the property has a large garden and big open space. The dining hall is good and clean and the simple food is good, though there is not much variety in the menu. The only huge problem is maintenance. In my room, the intercom was not working, the lock and key to the door were troublesome, the ac was not working as the remote had drained batteries. On repeated complaints, they started the ac manually, but did not make the remote ok. Hence we could not change the set temperature. All other above problems were never attended. One more issue: no wifi.

The OTDC Yatrinivas is located near to the temple. Walking distance food is okay, but is expensive for the quality (200 for a lunch thali looked alright, but was the most expensive we had across odisha. Breakfast is really disappointing - only had up-ma and bonda service is very good for a government property rooms are small. Price is very reasonable better of the few options available in konark

I personally felt that the location was spot on provided you want to access the sun temple and shops nearby. The staff were polite and supportive. However they could improve the quality of room as the telephone and bathroom geyser and taps weren't working and fan was also making noise. Furthermore they can include more list on the menu as there was limited food options. Overall it's good.

Terrific location. Premises very neat and rooms clean. Food quality needs improvement. Items to be increased.

Location of the property is very good. Very close to the sun temple. And beach. The premises is spread over a large area. Very food preparation was good but limited. Can be improved with more options. Rooms can be maintained better. Wash rooms to be improved. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Those who want a peaceful stay can enjoy the place. Garden is well maintained.

Yatri niwas is good for stay. Very good environment. Well managed ground floor only spread give a very good look.

Water problem is there. Some times mud water flow in washroom

Everything is good. But in some rooms exhaust fans not working. So the bathroom smell is coming on room. Remaining all hood

Hotel staff was very polite and co-operative. We checked in at night 1. 00 am that time staff provided clean room.

The place is near to the sun temple and has accessibility through the bus directly from puri and bhuvaneshwar. The food is decent. The rooms were okay.

A nice spacious place just 200 metres away from konark sun temple. Ambience is good. The restaurant is spacious but the variety in breakfast was missing when we were there. The chandrabhaga beach which is about 4kms away is where you need to go to watch the sunrise. Nice experience. Totally worth it.
