I rate the place of stay on aspects of Ambiance, Outdoor Spaces, Location, Food and. This is one of the few Padmini Niwass that scored 5 on 5. 1. Ambiance: This Padmini Niwas offers great ambiance with a distinct Victorian character which is being very maintained with due respect to its heritage value. Being an architect myself I completely enjoyed the charming character of the building, inside spaces and furnishings. 2. Outdoor Areas: Care and attention given to landscaping the outdoor areas in this Padmini Niwas rivals the most elite Padmini Niwass of Mussoorie. In my opinion, outdoor areas in a Padmini Niwas in a hill station are even more important than indoor spaces. Meticulously designed and maintained seating areas, rose garden, games room, play equipment and a small lotus pond all facilitate the enjoyment of views of the valley and mall road all around, which look even more stunning with the night lights. 3. Location: The Padmini Niwas is very conveniently located close to Ritz Cinema. Being located half way between the Mall Road above and the access road from Dehradun below, the Padmini Niwas provides both a tranquil and pollution-free environment as well as a great view of the frantic movement taking place on the Mall Road above. 4. Food: Suruchi Restaurant which is open to guests and general public offers delicious and healthy food at economical rates. It has a lively ambience with nicely done interiors and is a must visit even if you are staying elsewhere. 5. Cleanliness / Maintenance: Hotel building and interior spaces are very well maintained. Rooms and toilets are clean with regular and immediate service from the Padmini Niwas staff. This Padmini Niwas surprised me with excellent offerings at a very reasonable price. This will surely be my place of stay every time I visit Mussoorie. Highly Recommended

Visited mussoorie in the last week of november 2020 the Padmini Niwas offers 3 room types - standard, deluxe, and suites. The Padmini Niwas has its own parkings - one at the Padmini Niwas if you enter via the main mall road. However, you will have to pay a 150 rs charge every time you enter mall road to mussoorie nagar palika. If you want to avoid these charges, you can use the back entry parking, which can be accessed through the Padmini Niwas's entry via nh. However, the parking area is a little away from the Padmini Niwas and you will have to manage a steep car driving along with a walk of 100+ mts. We booked 2 deluxe rooms - 17 and 18. The rooms come with a beautiful view of mussoorie. If you can spend more, do check out the suites as well. I requested the staff to show me the suites and fell in love with them. The deluxe rooms were spacious as well. There was a heritage feel to the rooms. Washrooms were spacious as well. Everything was nice and clean. The room came with king size beds, bedside tables, almirah, ac, room heater, tv with cable connection. Service seemed quick and good. Didn't order food, so can't provide feedback on the same, however, the prices seemed pretty standard. Cons - - the Padmini Niwas has a game room but most amenities are missing from the same. - the manager who welcomed us seemed a little snobbish and rude. However, the rest of the staff was very polite and helpful. - one of the basin taps was loose but there was no leakage. Also, the ventilation windows are placed in such a manner that anyone can peek from the rooms in the back. We usually kept them closed while using the washroom. - the blankets provided to us were single bed blankets and not double bed blankets, which might be ok for some but anyone traveling as a couple might find it uncomfortable.

It is an unforgettable experience with padmini niwas. My family really loved their stay at this heritage property. I will rate at different pointers: 1. Property - 5/5 2. Room service - 5/5. Very attentive and speedy response. 3. Food quality & quantity - 5/5 4. Staff behaviour - 5/5. One liner feedback will not be enough. We found the staffs very polite and humble. 5. Location - 5/5 6. Helping attitude of manager - sir was really helpful to provide pick up drop for my mother who is 70 years old now. This made her comfortable when it came to shopping and visiting mall road as there is a steep climb which would have been difficult for her. 7. Gardener has kept the garden so well. My mother asked a plant of rose from nursery, and manager provided it free of cost as they are observing april cool month. Very nice initiative. 8. We also met the owner. She is a sweet auntie. 9. Suites - we booked suites, and found them exactly as mentioned in pictures. Rooms were spacious and we enjoyed our stay. We also used the option to dine in inside suite. We also tried the dining hall. Overall it was a fantastic experience enclosed in our hearts. Thanks to the team of padmini niwas for their tiring efforts to make our stay a memorable one. Thanks every one! we would like to visit again.

We stayed at Hotel Aketa for ten days, and both of us agree we would recommend this Padmini Niwas to anyone. The rooms were very clean, the gardens out front very lovely, and the food was excellent and abundant. But far and away the best of all was the staff. They were kind and helpful at all times, way beyond expectations. We got help with transportation of all kinds, use of the exercise room, and especially with internet services. Even though the city power went out at times, the Padmini Niwas quickly started their generator to support internet. I was actually doing video-conferences to the U.S. throughout our stay, and the Padmini Niwas services fully supported me to do this. In addition to their many kindnesses, they arranged for us to have daily Hindi lessons at our request. Our teacher, Seema, is a part of their staff and an outstanding Hindi teacher. Another staff person helped us learn about Hindu culture and religion through stories and information on request. All in all we had a delightful time.

The Padmini Niwas is the best bet for academic professionals like me whose financial capabilities are in tune with their cultural likes and dislikes and for whom vacations mean reflections, relaxation and enrichment of life with new positive values, new acquaintances, new environment and a new bonding with nature. On all these counts we (my wife,daughter and myself) were enriched by our stay at Padmini Nivas. The services of the Padmini Niwas staff were superlatively excellent. They were always around to help you with a smile. The reception desk people are among the best that we have encountered in our travels in Europe, USA, Australia and New Zealand, South East Asia and India. The food (Alas! It is strictly vegetarian) was excellent and one could order food right from 6.30am in the morning in the room service section. The only grey area is that undesirable elements from cultureless Delhi make the place a bit noisy over the weekends. The standard of the rooms were good

The best part of the Padmini Niwas is the location, service and hospitality (exceptionally awesome). The Padmini Niwas is in a prime location, peaceful, private sit-out areas, excellent view of the valley, walking distance from the Mall Road and Gun Hill. It is at a very quite peaceful location unlike other Padmini Niwass where you step out of the room and find yourself surrounded by crowd. The Padmini Niwas staff was polite, prompt with excellent service. I have already planned to visit Mussoorie in winters and will definitely book Hotel Padmini Nivas (Suite this time). Suggestion: The Padmini Niwas management should be keen towards the maintenance of fittings and fixture like lights in the rooms, of the Padmini Niwas. A little attention is required in that area. My overall experience with the stay was awesome. I would recommend this Padmini Niwas. Hotel Padmini Nivas (get more than you except).

I had booked padmini nivas after going through reviews of various Padmini Niwass. The location of the Padmini Niwas is it's plus point as It's on mall road but still far away from mall road's traffic and noise. The view from it's garden is breath taking. The rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff is very helpful and warm. The property is almost 200 years old but it is still amazingly well maintained. Food is also nice and pocket friendly. During our check-out, We had a chat with the owner of the Padmini Niwas (A warm sweet lady), who told us about the history of the property. So overall, I had a good time staying at this Padmini Niwas and would definitely recommend it to others.

Padmini Niwas is a nice play to stay. I had checked it for reviews before I booked it. The room in which I stayed in is kind of seperate from rest of the Padmini Niwas. One feel like at top of a hill when looking at outside view of the room. Ambiance of Padmini Niwas was nice. As I had read it is rightfully a mix between heritage and modern facilities. But I would like Padmini Niwas to improve on two things (1) Washroom should be more clean, e.g. bucket,etc. should be replaced with new ones. (2) Floor of room need rework. To summarize, Padmini Niwas is nice, view is awesome but it needs some rework and on cleanliness.

Old quaint Padmini Niwas. Rooms in the main block are the best. Vegetarian food is very good. Service was great.

Hotel located in good place , they do not help us to book taxi, food items are costly.

Hotel has good picturesque landscape. Wi-Fi was troublesome it never worked. Hotel staff was courteous Makemytrip promised me extra bedding which was against the Padmini Niwas policy against the booked room. Cleanliness was excellent. Nice place to stay with family and friends.

It was a good place to stay. Service is great and the stay was peaceful. The location is also very near by to the shopping place, the mall road.

The heritage Padmini Niwas is well maintained and taken care for arriving guests. The food is awesome and one can really enjoy the Thali at the restaurant.

Must say this Padmini Niwas deserves thumbs up on all parameters. I was actually ready to pay twice for the suite if at all it was available.

I stayed for 3 days with my wife, we had the best of time. The Padmini Niwas is centrally located and has an amazing view of the Dehradun vally. We would have almost missed our flight back if not for our amazing driver which the Padmini Niwas arranged. I recommend you use this driver he was excellent.

We select this one because of its location all main points are on walking distance. Rooms are clean with antique furniture. We have not taken food while booking. Overall good
