Pallaniappa Bungalow

The place is away from city like Ooty/Coonoor and thus is a great option to stay amid nature. The Palaniappa bungalow is within the Devashola tea estate. It has two rooms with attached baths, one dining area and one sitting room. It also has a kitchen. There is a caretaker cum cook who prepares the food. The food is simply tasty. Non-veg food is not an option. There are not many activities except to enjoy the view and absorb the nature. With constant supply of fresh air and lush greenery all around, perhaps there is not much anything else required. Option of trekking and a Jeep drive around the estate is also available and if lucky one can spot some wild animals.

Be it the mango tree in the backyard or the tea gardens all around - you are in the lap of nature. The views are stunning and the cottage itself has an old world functional charm to it. The caretaker makes up for his lack of communicative ability in English with his service. The food is functional and fine too. Nominally priced packages for bonfire, jeep safari and trekking exist.

The location is superb, 25 km away from Coonoor. The property is 600 acres tea estate. The cottage is nestled in tea garden. The rooms are big, with big verandahs provided with cots, chairs. Satellite TV provided. Books provided. Shuttle bats, balls provided. Garden swings, hammocks provided in the cottage garden. Neat rooms. 2 nos cooks stay the property during day time. They serve only veg food with good taste. We took safari for rs 500.00 only for the entire group, it's thrilling. We walked all the tea gardens, near by ponds. Very calm, peaceful location.
