Hotel Kalej Valley

This place is one of the very few budget Hotel Kalej Valleys one can find in hee bermiok. The manager Mr Ananda Bera is a genuine bengali gentleman. The other staff are also very courteous. One can get a mesmerizing view of the kanchenjungha range from the view rooms. They also have a dining place with about 180 degrees view of the mountains and valley. Rooms were neat and properly furnished with western toilets and geysers. As the Hotel Kalej Valley is situated amidst the nature park , insects are a problem from dusk so one might consider closing the windows shut from evening. Food is nice and authentic Bengali home meal. Due to government restrictions on import of vegetables, variety is limited as the cook has to depend on the meager supply of local grocery. Service is top notch, the manager arranged for fresh local trouts on request, which is one of the most memorable meals we ever had. He also arranged conveyance for local sight seeing and drop to airport at very reasonable rates compared to other travel agencies. Bermiok is a sleepy hamlet without much modern amenities but with a serene atmosphere, and this place is ideal for a comfortable and leisurely stay.
