Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay

We went there on the 27th of December, 2023. The property is picturesque. It actually is came to me as a surprise that such a pretty place actually exists in Darjeeling away from the hustle and bustle of the main town and the congested streets! It actually is not that away from the main town , pretty close to chawk bazar . we booked this place at the very last moment got our accommodation over there in peak season. There are plenty of negative reviews about its location but trust me, you need to go there once and see it for yourself. The caretaker of the property, Mr. Andrew’s warmth and hospitality won our hearts. The cottages and rooms in this property are all old but extremely well maintained. They have electric kettle, geyser that works 24*7 and a strong wifi. All the cottages are wooden, gives you a British era colonial vibe. There are 5-6 dogs ( pomerians and other breeds) , extremely adorable following you wherever you go in the property. Best part of this homestay is the magnificent view of the town, the mountains and the delectable and sumptuous meals. They don’t provide lunch though, but this place is accessible on Zomato, one can easily place online orders. The place is well connected to the city and Mr. Andrew quickly arranges for cabs whenever needed. I stayed for just one night and would definitely like to go back there for a longer and peaceful stay. I’ll fondly remember the morning i woke up there. It was magical….swaying to 80-90’s English classics, sipping on my morning tea while soaking in the winter sun ☀️

We were given a two bedroom room, with 1 queen sized bed and 2 single beds. We were able to accommodate 4 people easily. All basic amenities were provided without fault: water, hot water for baths, blankets, wifi. Heaters were chargeable for a nominal cost. Food was okay. The rooms are nice, and the balcony has a great view. The homestay has a great host, andrew and their two pets are a delight to play with. Only caveat was the place is a little far from mall road. Since the terrain has slope, you’d have to walk uphill generally to reach the main road. However, you can talk to andrew to get a cab arranged. Darjeeling has a lot of traffic, so cabs may arrive late. You might have to walk a lot if you are a tourist at darjeeling - which would anyway happen. Also the location of the homestay was a little stranded and it was difficult to find on google maps. To reach the stay, navigate to loreto convent and take the zigzag downhill road till you reach a small signboard in a small gateway that says pradhan homestay. Otherwise this homestay was a delight to live in.

Frankly speaking. It was my first trip to Darjeeling and didn't have any idea about this except internet reviews. But after reach there I found myself in a heavenly place. Green trees, hills, clear blue sky, purified air, refreshing sunlight, clean roads, friendly people, birds enchanting, various flowers scents.... I saw and felt arond me. Pradhan Cottage is one of the best homestay at Darjeeling. location is it bit downward but that is too good to stay. Electricity, Water, Food everything is available there. Andrew, the caretaker of homestay. He is a very very very nice guy, cook, guide, companion. He has a pet dogie too named Mary and her cute puppies. Homestay area is fully maintained and decorated with herbs, flowers, plants, trees by Andrew. There are driver and car facilities also available for Darjeeling sight seen and for pick and drop. There are many things to share but I stop here and advising all the review viewers to must visit Pradhan Cottage, Darjeeling and feel the peace and pleasure. 11⭐ out of 10.

It is a heavenly place that provides the ultimate view of mountains during day and human achievement at night. The food provided was fantastic, the hospitality of the Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay manager mr an-drew was one of the the best thing you will find in this heavenly city. This Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay provides you with all necessary advices and services necessary for a happy stay. Let me warn you about the misguidance offered to the tourist by the travel agents of new jalpaiguri and siliguri, but this Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay provides you with travel service at much lesser cost, with 100% safety and flexibility

If I don't share my experience with this property, it will be an injustice for Mr. Andrew, the host of the homestay. This can be more than a perfect stay if: - you want an absolutely cozy and peaceful stay. - you don't like crowds and chaos around. - you want a nice view(not Kanchenjunga) of Darjeeling town. - you want a perfect host cum guide who is more than happy to help beyond just professional relation. - you are okay to walk uphills and downhills which is around 1. 5 kms. For me, it was really great stay as i was fine with that walk everyday. I was so touched by mr. Andrew's hospitality. He co-operates in everything and made our stay ao peaceful. I would like to recommend this place for sure.

Room is very clean. Staff is very cooperative and supportive. They provided early check in facilities as well and provided the best room they have wherein we can see the decent view of darjeeling. Best thing of this homestay is their pets (Dogs) that the Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay have. Dogs are extremely cute and will accompany you in going to market. Property is bit far from main market. I found only cons: 1. Location of Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay is not correct in google map due to which i had to struggle a lot to reach the location. 2. Not sure about wifi facilities. But during my presence wifi was not working

I faced a little trouble to find the location as i didn't communicate the host before. After check-in, i have come to know that they also arrange for pick-up if pure informed. Hospitality was excellent. We were treated like their own guest. It must to mention that the entire credit for this excellent service and hospitality goes to the man an-drew (caretaker of this property. He has arranged everything on reasonable price like customized site seeing, lunch, dinner, tiffin, etc. Oh, one thing to say, the cook is excellent. Every food from tea at breakfast to chicken at dinner including pokora, everything was of excellent taste.

We stayed there for 3 and half days. It was one of the best Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay we have ever stayed. This place is on the outskirts of the main town. It was about 1 km from the mall market. This place is very pleasant and very clam. If you want to enjoy sometime with your beloved one, you must come here. This place is incomplete with Andrew. I have never seen a cheerful person like him. He provided everything we needed. He is a very good cook also. He made us know about different hubs and flowers and some indoors plants also. We want to stay there every time we visit Darjeeling.

Experience was really great. If u want to stay at somewhere away from the chaos of the city in darjeeling, then i would like like to recommend this homestay. View is outstanding, hospitality was really good. We were provided with everything what we wanted. Rooms are neat and clean with wi-fi facility. Moreover, the manager andrew dad a is a very helpful and nice person. I will remember this homestay because of the adulation and care we got from him. Really loved this homestay.

We have visited for the 3rd time. Amazing view. Super hospitality. Finger licking food. This property provides off bit staying with in 1 kms from mall and taxi stand. Love the man andew, he is the trp of the property including his 2 cute puppies.

This Pradhan Cottage | Rooms in a Homestay is located very peaceful place. And all types of facility is present there. And the owner of this cottage very polite.

Other than location, everything was super. The care taker is a nice happy helpful man. The Cottage is clean and beautiful. Quality of food also good.

Amazing stay, really loved it! the place was hard to reach from the road, but besides that everything was lovely!
