Punnamada Resort

This was my second visit. I went previously 4 years ago and had a superb experience. However the place was not that great this time. Food was mediocre, lot of the menu was unavailable. Staff were ok but sluggish. They didn't seem to be that alert. The complimentary boat ride was cancelled but no one bothered to inform us. If it's yellow alert trips get cancelled. Rooms are good, clean and comfortable. The garden view rooms are not to standard. Do not book them. We stayed in the rooms closest to the pool and were nice. Also a shocking thing to happen. We saw a staff member throw a plastic bottle into the beautiful Lake that sits right next to the property. He didn't see that we were seated by the water so thought it was ok to do it! The location of the resort is very beautiful and the staff don't seem to understand that. It is quite sad.

We stayed in the lake facing premium room for our wedding anniversary. The facilities were impeccable and the view was fantastic but what makes this resort truly special is the amazing team of staff Punnamada has. The staff went above and beyond to organize for our anniversary dinner, planning a surprise and also providing early morning canoe ride. Amongst the Punnamada Resort staff, Chikku was coordinating us for most of the time and he is an absolute delight - warm, courteous and always ready to help. If you are ever staying in Allepey do not miss out on this experience!

Very good for weekend getaways.. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Great set of amenities.. Good food.. Scenic view.. Water front... Tip for travelers: always have dinner inside restaurant than open air.. Open air looks romantic but mosquitos will have other plans... There is a beer and wine parlour inside the resort compound but most guest won't see it as it is at the very back of the resort (near parking lot).. Charges are double if you order it via restaurant.

We had a Lake View Villa which had great views. Only draw back was bathroom facilities which are not to standard. It may be Kerala style but for the cost of lake villa one would expect a higher standard. Food in restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The resort is beautifully laid out. Location on lake is excellent but difficult to find depending on the direction one is coming. Staff is friendly indeed.

No words to describe this place. It's a real heaven. Place, ambience, courteous staff, amenities, facilities, you ask for it and it's all there. We stayed for three days but I feel it should have been more. Boat ride, Ayurveda centre, swimming pool we enjoyed everything to max. Food is just awesome. If you are looking for authentic Kerala experience then this is the place. Go and enjoy!

What is good? stay was very pleasant. Service is really great. All the rooms were very clean, spacious and very comfortable. The overall ambiance of the entire resort was good. Excellent views. Enjoyed the nature with the punnamuda lake. What needs to improve? 1. Food menu in the restaurant ( outside food was not allowed. 2. Little expensive pricing for rooms and house boat stay.

The view of the backwaters was excellent. The rooms were neat and clean. There were lot of mosquitoes so couldn't enjoy the greenery. They give a boat ride of 1hr which is good. They have excellent Coffee, don't miss it! Food is okay and needs to be improved as there were lot of mosquitoes on the food, it needs to be little covered or should be kept under air conditioning.

The property is very well maintained, has an amazing view of the backwaters. A complimentary boat ride, a cultural dance performance and cycling ride along the backwaters were an icing on the cake. Food was good and few dishes are better than the rest. The Ayurvedic massage was alright, not the best but quite relaxing. I would recommend this resort for a comfortable stay.

Awesome experience, superb staff @ entire resort, Good rooms with excellent amenities, spa service was good But it can be improved, Rony @ reservation was very helpful, well trained f&b staff, overall wonderful experience, had Best holidays ever.

Beautiful property. Food is m good. Massage a must have, reasonably priced. Breakfast spread can be better. 3

Punnamada Backwater Resort is a beautiful property on Vembanand lake. I loved their hospitality. The best part is the free "back waters shikara ride" that they give every evening. There food is good too. And yes their "open bathroom" is quite a different experience.

Stay was quite good at punnamada, except the Punnamada Resort room, which was not up to the mark. Cockroches and insects were roaming around in the room and lighting was also not up to the mark. Rest everything food, staff, fasicilities, cruise, food was excellent.

One word can describe everything - Awesome.

Good Punnamada Resort, good service, decent food - overall good. Good for evening strolls. I had taken the duplex thinking there will be an additional couch where the 2nd kid can sleep, but you need to buy the additional bed as there is no couch. Good place if you are going with friends.

Resort is well maintained. One of the main attraction is the view from the restaurant and the house boating. I personally didnt like the food, it was just average

Weather was very humid. Food was good, cleanliness was good, prices are higher than expected. The location is great. Hiring a taxi or houseboat trip are overpriced. I would rate the stay as 7/10.
