Regal - Woodside Retreat

Our stay at Regal - Woodside Retreat Regal in Mahabaleshwar was very pleasant experience. Room was very spacious with veranda, good ventilation and sun light, surrounded by green trees. There is playground for children and bicycles are available on rent for children and adults. Hotel staff is very prompt in service and take very good care of customers. Hot water available between 7 am to 9 am. Buffet breakfast is from 7:30 am to 9:30 am and if you do not turn up by 9:00 am then Regal - Woodside Retreat staff calls you over intercom to remind you. Lunch is served from 12:30 pm to 2 pm and if you do not go for lunch in this time, some food is kept aside for you, just in case if you turn up late for the lunch. Bufffet dinner is served from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Dinner items include Jain and some snack items such as Bhel, Panipuri or Ragada Pattice. Food is delicious. Staff also checks if you need any extra blanket/hot water before they retire for the day. They had also arranged for magic show on one night.

We spent long Easter weekend at Regal Woodside, a couple with a 7-year old child. The location of this place is fabulous- truly 'woodside' and away from the bustle of the main town. However market is easily accessible by car or taxi. The resort is completely self-contained: all meals are in-house (take the meals package), nice swimming pool, games & sports (carrom, badminton) and some entertainment every night (magic show one night, DJ night the other when we were there). Kids will have a ball and adults will enjoy the relaxing break in the middle of nature's bounty. The place is 'pure veggie' keeping in mind the average profile of customer (upper middle class Gujarati families for the most part) but the food is fantastic in terms of spread and quality. Service is excellent: staff is friendly and gets you whatever you need. There is a small TV in each room. Some rooms are standalone villas, which looked more interesting than the standard rooms we were in. But clean and comfortable.

We stay 3 day in Regal - Woodside Retreat Regal splendid non ac rooms, Regal - Woodside Retreat is quite good, hot water comes only in morning from 7 to 10, I did not like the tea but breakfast and lunch and dinner was nice and all different menu for all days. Hotel location is 10 to 15 minutes walking distance from main market which is also benefit. In Mahabaleshwar there is package for old Mahabaleshwar, Sunset and Venna lake and Kates point, and Panchgini tour package which is more suitable wondering place near Mahabaleshwar. So we did not have enough time for using facility in Regal - Woodside Retreat like swimming pool and garden. Otherwise carom and table tennis is not use to play. After all I give 4 out of 5 points in Hotel Regal for overall performance.

Overal the Hotel experience was good. The ambience was quite natural and cool, food was excellent and the stay was relaxing. But there are few areas where the Regal - Woodside Retreat needs to focus on namely: 1. Entry to the Regal - Woodside Retreat especially in the night is quite a problem as most of patch has scarce light, so incase one is returning to Regal - Woodside Retreat after 8:00 pm and that to on foot then visibility is an issue 2. Our room that was the 'splendid Exotica; category had only one fan it would have helped if the room had another fan.

I was expecting much more events and excitement at the resort . Lighting was not at all good . Reception staff was not at all cordial and co-operative . We wanted to extend our stay by 3 to 4 hours and were ready to pay extra but were not allowed to stay inspite of our room being empty till the time we left . There was no Ala carta system of ordering or proper restaurant in the resort hence we were forced to go out for dinner every night . Food was not good as oil used was not of good quality.

We really enjoyed our 2 days stay at this Regal - Woodside Retreat. The food is pure veg and very good quality. The Regal - Woodside Retreat campus is very big and has swimming pool, tennis court and net cricket facilities. Staff is very co-operative and especially the Regal - Woodside Retreat manager, Amol is very good and friendly. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Hotel is 1 km away from market so you should have your own car for easy transport. Overall highly recommended.

It is a really good place to spend 2/3 days. A place where you can reach easily and a central place for all sightings. Hotel is good. Clean and service is also good. The only drawback is the restaurant. You have to be there at their "timings" else you will have to skip it... Either you breakfast/lunch or dinner. There aren't many choices for food. You have to depend on buffet. Enjoyed a lot though.

Very pleasant and beautiful! Room and facilities were good. Best part was the jaccuzi at such a great price. Staff is friendly too. Location was also good. Far away from the traffic area which was a good thing. I dint have my own vehicle. But transport is not a problem. You get cabs easily at the Regal - Woodside Retreat itself. Thank you for making ny first trip with him beautiful ..

Value for money ... Would like to go again and again to the same Regal - Woodside Retreat lovely spacious clean rooms with Bath tub. Food was very good ... Though vegetarian but very tasty ... Breakfast was a large spread ... Surrounding area too was very well maintained ... Very good staff

Location is nice in the heart of the city but yet in the dense forest surrounding. Facilities are nice. Pool in working condition. Will definitely stay again here. Staff is good and friendly. Hot water available in the morning.

Value for money. Nice food. Near main city. Good indoor games facility like carom, tennis and swimming pool. Recommend others too.

In very short note, simply superb hospitality. It was an experience like home. Food, staffs behavior, location and ambience were excellent. I would highly recommend everyone and for me, the next trip would be for sure at this Regal - Woodside Retreat.

In catering, there is no option for food choice. Catering should have a menu for food, so that tourist should get option to choose menu as per his choice and enjoyed variation of food. Rest of this food quality was excellent. I would like to add one more thing about facilities. If possible please facilitate food in room also as per customer request.

Nice rooms, good and peaceful location, excellent room service, almost all the basic amenities and facilities, helping and friendly staff, soothing atmosphere with a lot of greenery and various modes of entertainment & refreshment like swimming pool.

Awesome location, close to market. Best place to relax. Good food, good service, awesome weather, best place to go and have fun. Close to nature. Only drawback is no street light for apprx 200 meter on the way to resort.

Cottage room was good. Food was okay... Magic show was awesome.. Service was done in a proper way. Poolside view was good. Value for money. Location is also good for travelling for sightseeing...

There was no choice for a la carte food, only buffet options available. No room service menu.

Good to stay, its like you are in jungle... Very greenery with swimming pool. Indoor games of course we played only shuttle. We have taken splendid AC room category but not required during monsoons and winters. As you can't see anything due to the fog and chilled climate.

Good location and near to the market. The scenery from the room and the surrounding is good. Only thing that can be improved is their WiFi connection because as the name suggests Woodside Retreat there is absolutely no network a bit isolated yet serene place between the trees.

Hotel is good enough to stay. Food is nice for dinner and lunch but for breakfast they provided aloo paratha and jalebi fafda. As a Marathi person I didn't like any of the item. So, I suggest they should have one item of poha or upma. And they charge Rs. 200 for breakfast.
