Memorable stay
Rated 5.0 by SHIVI SANGWAN . Couple Traveller . Dec 15, 2019
The staff was very courteous and warm. Hospitality was great and food was delicious. The interiors were very artistic. Place was very clean. We were also welcome to use the facilities of Taj Madikeri, since this property was a sister concern.

Rated 5.0 by Ravi Shinge . Couple Traveller . Aug 01, 2019
The place is well maintained and its designed based on the traditional theme. They have reused antique doors and furniture in order to support the conservation of natural resources. It's a very eco-friendly farm stay. Food was delicious and its located very close to Madikeri.

Excellent Stay
Rated 5.0 by Rajesh Singh . Family Traveller . May 30, 2019
Probably more than home stay it's a boutique hotel. Limited rooms and limited guests. It's calm and beautiful, in the lap of nature. May be they can improve on the food. Room was tastefully decorated. Nice choice of furniture. Go for walks and drives all around and enjoy the beauty of coffee plantations.

This is a really beautiful house about 8-10 km from Madikeri. The house is in a really tranquil location and is manager by a great host who stays on the property. The cooks are available on the property and made really tasty food. Overall choose this place of you love to stay in a peaceful place.

A truly memorable and pleasant stay
Rated 5.0 by Senthilkumar Sundaram . Oct 21, 2018
I had taken two hours while choosing where to stay before I stumbled upon rare earth estate on MakeMyTrip, mostly with 5 star ratings. I booked it without a blink. That's a decision I don't regret as I have completed the trip. It was a blissful place to be in. The host Mrs Revathi is a genuinely gracious and kind person. We struck a chord instantly and I told her that for me it was like holidaying in my sister's place. She made it a point to personally serve breakfast to all the guests herself, offering a true home stay experience. The staff, Dhiraj and others too were efficient and caring. And the food. So sumptuous and homely. We got probably the best room to stay, overlooking the green garden. Unfortunately we were travelling to talk very so didn't have much time to enjoy the greenery. But next time and I learnt that they accept pets too, so our next trip will be with our GSD boy.
This place is located amidst coffee estates. Beautiful, serene location. Had a great time here away from busy work life. Everything is so well organized. Delicious food, cleanliness maintained well. Great service. Ambiance adds the twist of retro look from authentic Karnataka style. Would like to visit again soon. Worth the penny.

Good place to visit
Rated 5.0 by Balaji Pattabhiraman . Family Traveller . Dec 28, 2015
The hospitality by the owner and staff is top class. The owner and staff serve you without even a little frown. The room and property are clean and family friendly. The owner Revathi made us feel at home and they took care of my 3 year old's needs very well. Service was on time and the kitchen was very clean. The no of guests at any time are limited so it is always an added advantage. The house is beautiful and crafted beautifully to provide a homely, antique feel with star hotel type comfort Here are some of the things that could be improved. Note that I am being nitpicky here and some won't consider it a big deal. I found this place a little overpriced for what it is, but if you are not caring about that extra few thousand rupees it shouldn't matter. The stay was very nice and comfortable. There might be something better at this price (but we never know) and this is also during the peak december season and its a costly to run a homestay on a hill, so it is fair. The food overall was pretty good and tasty, some of them didn't suit our parent's taste - they try to match your preference, but its common food and complimentary breakfast and dinner so it is reasonable (note that you can't call it 100% authentic coorg food, I have had better food in Coorg in other home stays). The coffee and tea are a great letdown - not only here but in most part of coorg. Being amidst coffee plantation, most places serve coffee that are seriously bad, including this one. The milk is not thick - which I think was the reason to not suit our taste. But both these are our personal preference. The location is good, but we had a little difficulty in finding it, a sign board on the road would help. Go here for stay, comfort, service and if site-visits are your main focus. You may reconsider this if food and price are your focus. I would revisit and recommend this personally.

Home stay
Rated 4.0 by AROBINDO HALDER . Couple Traveller . Mar 26, 2019
We had a night's stay at this home stay and it is definitely one of the better home stay in Coorg. The hosts Revathi and Yogesh are extremely caring in nature and work tirelessly towards making your trip worry free. It does get a bit hot in the rooms so ac would help. We had lunch and breakfast and both were extremely tasty and home food like especially the chicken dish. The house has antique collection which is Worth going through.

Lovely old styled home amidst coffee estates
Rated 4.0 by ashwin bhaskar . Nov 05, 2018
A home-stay built in an old fashion style with sloping Mangalore tiles, wooden pillars, doorways and period furniture. Food was like home cooked and very tasty. We had a lovely peaceful time just relaxing and being looked after by the helpful staff.

Loved the aesthetics and hospitality
Rated 4.0 by Debasri Paul . Family Traveller . Nov 27, 2017
A relatively newly constructed homestay in an erstwhile coffee plantation, our vacation here was just perfect. With just three rooms and two cottages, this property was a perfect mix of privacy, quiet, aesthetics, and hospitality. The owners were very helpful in guiding us to the location, while the staff is cheerfully at hand, be it driving up the steep entrance incline of the property, taking into account your meal, the gardener taking your questions about the ample and vibrant kitchen garden, the ever forthcoming old family caretaker Shahid ji helping you with travel suggestions and distances, or the earthy aesthetics so thoughtfully put together to do up the place - it was a charm.
The rooms are minimalist but warm and welcoming, while the washrooms are huge and neat. The decor seems to be inspired by traditional Tamil architectural styles.
One suggestion - the lights are too dim and are a strain, whether to play the indoor games or to read. The overhanging lights are beautiful, but there should be options to switch on stronger lights in case one wants to read or play long duration board games.

The place is good, a perfect place for relaxing.
Rated 4.0 by GEORGE P JOHNSON . Couple Traveller . Nov 25, 2017
Overall the experience was good. But I feel it could have been improved a bit more.
My recommendations:
Take the guests to plantation visits.
>>Wi fi password should be given when customers check in
>>Some activities should be arranged inside the estate (like shooting, swimming, and similarly other activities)
>>Food is very tasty but varieties are less.
>>Approach road is bad, and very importantly need a sign board. The road from the approach road towards the estate has to be maintained well. Its bit tough for a normal sedan to climb.
These are my recommendations.

One of the top notch antique homestay with brilliant hospitality and delicious mouth watering food. Rooms are quite big and they have extra cot as well. Loved the way they have arranged antiques inside. I celebrated my dad's birthday and they helped me throughout. Thanks a lot.

Best homestay in Coorg
Rated 4.0 by Manjunath Thunga . Couple Traveller . Aug 01, 2016
Wow just wow, if anyone looking out for a 2-3 day holiday spot in Coorg I would suggest Rare Earth Estate. The chirping of birds in the morning, the aura of the nature is one of the best near the homestay and the smell of the coffee estate takes to some other world. Yogesh and Revathi gone a step ahead and took care of us very well starting from breakfast to dinner. Yogesh is a good chef enjoyed their company thoroughly. Revathi pampers upto the core she take cares of the guests like her own family members I respect that. Visiting Rare earth homestay is worth every penny. Food could have been a bit better. I would suggest to give a visit to Rare earth Homestay, enjoy the nature and company of Yogesh and Revathi, cheers to you guys.

Food options are limited and unnecessarily expensive. Should have the a-la-carte option as well. Also, the staff can guide the visitor on request on site seeing places.
