Review Of Bamboo Valley

I booked the entire Bamboo Valley Cottage in Kodaikanal for my family (including a 1-year-old baby) after seeing beautiful photos. I paid for the full cottage (3 rooms), which was non-refundable. I trusted the images provided. I contacted the property before arriving, and they assured me everything was arranged. Due to travel delays, we arrived at around 8 PM after a 6-hour drive. The location was difficult to find even with the shared map. There was no front office or proper check-in process — instead, a young boy was sent to guide us to the cottage. To our shock, the rooms looked nothing like the pictures. The entire property was dirty and had a strong unpleasant odor. The floors, beds, and especially the bathrooms were not cleaned at all. We were exhausted, and our baby was crying and in need of rest, but the condition of the place made it impossible to stay safely or comfortably. I was not comfortable letting my baby sleep there — it felt completely unhygienic. I called the property again, and only around 9:30 PM they sent a woman and the same boy with a mop and a toilet brush to clean the place — totally inadequate for the condition it was in. We were too tired and frustrated, so we decided to leave. We finally found another two-room cottage for our group at a much higher price. I also took photos of the actual condition of the property as proof — the difference from what was shown online is unacceptable. This was a very disappointing experience. I lost because of misleading photos and a lack of basic cleanliness. this property was clearly not inspected or maintained to the standards promised. I strongly advise others to avoid this place and request BookMyTrip to review and verify such listings more strictly. Not recommended.

The property is very old and not properly maintained. Bathrooms and rooms are not clean. Caretaker is not available in this property. Overall it was a horrible stay
