The rooms were stupendous! the place is awesome. People are good. Location is also great. The price of stay is on the higher side but worth it.

Chettinad villages were beyond my expectations and the opportunity to stay inside a chetinad house was nothing less than a great experience. Chettinad mansion also had the current owner staying there and we were able to speak a lot with him and his life at chettinad and house. The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and professional. I liked the fact that all the staff are from the same village and they made the stay super coo l. The building - what do you say ! amazing built 100 years back and nothing less than a palace.

First it’s not a hotel. It’s someone’s home converted into a stay. Please don’t look for rooms that are designed for comfort. It’s a large mansion half of which is still occupied by the original family that constructed it. There are rooms that are allotted for guest and specially converted to accommodate an attached toilet. However all that aside the stay was very comfortable for us. The room was comfortable and all that required for a comfortable stay. The food is excellent both breakfast and dinner. They make it according to taste and done quite well. The receptionist and the staff are very helpful guiding on activities and places to visit. Overall a good place to soak in a culture and tradition.

It was under the rock down for covid, no other guest, only me. But hotel operated as normal, they provided me all meals as normal. ( some hotel refused services although they accepted booking ) hotel is classic, fantastic and beautiful design, it’a amazing. I saw a video which explains hotel history, it was very good for understanding historical background.
