Review Of Deki Lodge

Rooms were nice but no fans in the room, no room service bad attitude of the waiter, no restaurant, no lift facility, rooms not suitable for summer season, there is no waiter, the manager is all arounder.

This isn't a kind of hotel place. This was basically an old bungalow converted to hotel /lodge. There's a housekeeper who dies almost everything from making tea, changing sheets, running errands, and turning on the geyser main switch. He does a tough job and tries not to disappoint anyone. If you ask him he will make a limited variant of food also. Breakfast is limited to bread omelette and for meals you get Dal Charla sabzi / egg curry. Nearest restaurant is about 1 km downhill. He keeps running between rooms, so you need to find him out for a bottle of water. The intercom doesn't work. These things are irritating especially if you are on holiday.

Firstly, the hotel changed number and did not notify. The room is clean but small; TV does not work; no room service; no WiFi; no intercom; the location is remote; water supply in bathroom is sometime disrupted. Stayed in room no. 4.. Would not recommend any one this hotel, does not worth the money spent.

Mr. Kamal, the caretaker seemed to be a good man. But I am glad that I stayed there only for a day. Room that I stayed in has dirty carpeting. The bathroom is too small and this is a super deluxe room! There's commode in the bathroom but no jet! Not worth the money.

The hotel is situated near the main marketplace, easily accessible. May be a bit of prob for very senior persons as the last 30-40 mt is steep. Room was clean, other facilities good. Most attractive is the viewing deck on the 2nd floor - was a pleasure sitting there and watching the mountains in front. Staff (though only one) was supportive. Food was okay, bit overpriced. Just one thing, while paying the food bills - just check - prob they will forget to add all items you have ordered and you need to correct them.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. I first booked a different hotel but due to some problems I was shifted to Deki Lodge. I must tell everyone that I had a terrible experience. The hotel is very far from the main city. We reached the hotel during lunch but the hotel staff told us that they can't provide lunch and there were no restaurant available near the hotel that we could have taken lunch from outside. The room didn't have any fan though the weather was quite hot during the last week of April. The room was OK. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The lodge is located on a steep hill road which might be a concern if you have senior citizen. Has shops and small restaurants nearby so you can either eat out or even bring your own food. You can even opt for in house meals... Quality was pretty good. Room had a small flat screen but cable was not working so please be prepared to spend your time in the room with something else apart from watching TV. Sheets were clean and room had a partial mountain view. Host is pretty helpful.

Nice room, service is good, very nice location. Must stay. Food quality good. Hotel stuff was very friendly and cooperative also very helpful. Very homely feel. Location was nice. We love this place very much.

Location of the hotel is far away from Main road .. Still if you have a car it's manageable. Hotelier provided room no. 9 & 10 which are small standard rooms although Deluxe rooms were booked .. Later changed the rooms to appropriate Deluxe rooms when MMT team helped me after escalating the matter. Hotel lacks staff and also the TV channels lack signal reception hence can't watch TV in the evening properly. Hotelier was rude initially, however after escalating the matter to MMT he was co-operative.

The Deki Lodge hotel s very central for Kalimpong and surrounding areas. The building itself is old and has great potential, but like most hotels there never seems to be any effort into making a place more interesting !! The room was Clean with a good firm bed and ample hot water. The WiFi worked well. The manager was helpful, but note there is no restaurant at this hotel ( despite the manage cooking meals for occasional guests he felt like it)) but hot water in a flask was available). Local eateries and street food near by. There is no scenic view from this hotel, so if you are looking for hillside views and fresh mountain air ... This is not the place for you !!! Great for a 1 or 2 night stop over.

I had wonderful stay in deki lodge, there has location and cleanliness are nice but they really don't have to way to response the guest and this is the most important in all. If they give little more response to the guest then hotel will be best in Kalimpong.

Free Wi-Fi is actually not free because they share wrong password. Upon asking again they say that the password is correct, why don't trying resetting your phone setting. Oops again breakfast is like ridiculous for veg. You get to eat chilled toast with frozen butter, Jam is okay... I liked tea... Something different in taste

Very homely feel it's an very nice cute hotel very cleaner it's just nice like a home nice place to chill. Very nice one should visit and stay here for a best and homely feel. Don't look for too many hotels and get confused just book this and you are good to go.

We went to deki lodge for 1 day. The room was nice, tv and geyser was there, location was not too bad. 10 min walk to main market. But nearby shops were there for food and others. I was disappointed about no food was arranged by them. Before reaching the hotel, I was told that we will get food but when we went, we were told that all staff on leave thats why please arrange your food from outside. But fine, the room and building is very old and gives a good feeling of British infrastructure.

Pleasant stay in the lodge .. Near to taxi stand .. Facility is clean and tidy .. The house was built back in 1939, but it seems as if it was built few years back. Helpful owner and manager, and guided us with information sorted .. Would recommend for couple oof days stay ..

Poor service and location. Rooms provided with triple bedding thus became very congested. The towels were also ordinary and the toilet is without jet. Very ordinary commode with very poor facility. Commode photo attached.

Good value for money. Owner was very helpful and communicative. House is very pleasant in excellent localisation. Bit apart of bitten smokey roads and close to main market. Food in hotel simple and excellent. Worth to stay there couple of days or even for longer. Place is magical.

Clean room. Value for money stay. Hot water available. Very helpful manager Mr Jamal. He helped me in reaching from Siliguri to Kalimpong, as well arranged for local sightseeing. Approachable any time. Nice maintained property. Overall highly recommend

Keeping the review short and crisp: Pros: 1. Breathtaking panoramic view from balcony if you are allotted one of the super deluxe rooms on the 2nd floor. Insist on occupying those rooms in particular. 2. Clean rooms, linen 3. Very polite staff and owner 4. Easy on your pocket. Cons: 1. Poor wifi connectivity in hotel rooms. Connectivity is good only in the common dining room. Very limited options in the menu, be it for breakfast, lunch or dinner. 3. It is more of a homestay rather than a hotel, so service hours are limited. Overall, a cosy, clean and homely retreat if you are willing to overlook a few shortcomings and simply soak in the beauty of Kalimpong for a couple of days.

Well I found it is value for money to stay here, the Super deluxe room was very good, it has hygenic toilet and clean room, but it has poor WiFi connection ... It is one of the oldest lodge in Kalimpong set in 1938, but looks as if it is built now only ...
