Property Not Ready at Check-in – Very Disappointing Experience
The official check-in was at 2:00 PM, but when we entered at 3:05 PM, the house was still being cleaned. The sink was full of dirty vessels, the entire place smelled strongly of cooked fish, and cleaning staff were still at work. We could not use the ground floor until almost 4:00 PM, and right after that, multiple sticks of sambirani were lit inside, filling the house with smoke and again making it unusable for nearly an hour. Effectively, we lost 2 hours of our stay and had to deal with a horrible smell followed by suffocating smoke — nowhere near the standard promised. The host’s only response to this feedback was “okay noted,” with no resolution or compensation. For the price paid, this experience was unacceptable and very poorly handled.
