Hopeless. No TV, no AC average rooms and average location. Better to stay at Barkot

2 nights stay booked through MMT for Sep 2017. Basic Guest House. Rooms without TV & Geyser (Hot water) facility. Located at Ranachatti which is a small cluster of 10-15 small shops/restaurants & few houses along Barkot Yamunotri Road, so no proper Infrastructure around, hence better to stay at Barkot, the last base town on way to Yamunotri, if travelling by Public transport. Barkot town offers basic infrastructure of Banks/ATM, s, restaurants, hospital & medical facilities etc. Rooms are very overpriced on the Online travel portals like MMT, Yatra etc. For the amenities offered. However, Mr Anil Chauhan, Owner of this property, was helpful to adjust us for the 1st night at another group property at Barkot ( Riya Residency Hotel) since we were not able to reach this hotel due to landslide in that region. After Checking in at this hotel, due to non-availability of basic amenities like TV & Hot water Geyser facility & being at remote location without general infrastructure at Ranachatti region, we requested for shifting to Riya Residency, Barkot & our request was honoured without any extra charges. Those travelling to Yamunotri by Public Transport, try to stay either at Barkot ( 50 Kms fm which is last base town or directly at Janakichatti, where basic Guest House accommodation at private lodges or is available.
