We stayed at Hotel Garden Reach with family in early October 2025, during a time when North Bengal was grappling with relentless rains and landslides that severed Kalimpong’s connection via NH10. Despite the challenging circumstances, the hospitality extended by the owner (Mamta-ji), the hotel manager (Sandip-ji) and the entire staff was nothing short of exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The rooms were thoughtfully allocated to ensure minimal disturbance, and the kitchen catered to our preferences with custom, home-style meals—mild and comforting, just the way we needed. Sightseeing guidance was personalized and heartfelt: Mamta-ji woke us at 5 AM on our final day so we wouldn’t miss the fleeting, breathtaking glimpse of Kanchenjungha, while Sandip-ji offered insightful suggestions on places to explore in Kalimpong.
Sandip-ji arranged trusted vehicles for local sightseeing and ensured a safe return to NJP. Our departure was marked by a traditional farewell from Mamta-ji and the staff—a gesture that deeply touched us and made the experience unforgettable.
We’re truly happy to have chosen Hotel Garden Reach for our stay at this property. It turned a potentially stressful trip into a warm and memorable journey.
