Excellent location in the heart of old town, overlooking lake pichola. Luxurious room with fantastic terrace. Special call out for jassu who did everything to make our stay special, including some amazing recommendations. Will choose raj niwas every time in udaipur

Udaipur stay in hotel Raj Niwas

This hotel is located in old Udaipur area, by the side of Lake Pichola, Lal ghat. We stayed 3 nights with no issue. Just opposite one restaurant Rainbow, where food was good and we enjoyed rooftop dinner. Location was very good. Jagdish temple, City palace. All within walking distance.
The room was queen type. Huge in size. Uniquely decorated. A feel of staying in a have is. This probably you won't get in any hotels. Superbly clean and well maintained by Jassu, the one-man army.

The stay at Hotel Raj Niwas was a wonderful experience. I wished we were staying for a bit longer. The one man army, Jassu took care of everything from picking up the luggage, checking in and a lovely breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the Pichola lake. The decor is very ethnic but done very tastefully.

Though our stay was very short but we have left with excellent memories. Well appointed, clean and tastefully decorated spacious rooms. The views of the lake from the king suite and breakfast area are lovely. The caretaker is a one man army. His knowledge, helpful attitude and resourcefulness is admirable. He is one big reason for the success of this property.

Part of the lake is obstructed by nearby building from kings suit, no lift but the hotel guy carried luggage for us. They don't have their own restaurant but many food options nearby.

Perfect room with traditional interior. Room size is big and the best part it is beside lake pichola. Boat hiring point is also there so you don't need to move any where else if you came for a relaxed trip. All tourist attraction are near by. The only thing you need to be aware that it doesn't provide room service for dinner and tea. But you will find so many restaurants and food point near by that it didn't matter to us. Manager jassu bhai. The one man army. Made everything easy thanks jassu ji

Raj Niwas is a very small hotel with only three rooms, but the rooms are quite big, furnished with very wide double bed (must be at least 6' wide), writing table and chair, a tea table with two chairs and a window seat furnished with bolsters and pillows to sit and relax. One wall has traditional Rajasthani design with coloured glass (inspired by city palace? ), which gives the room a very different and charming look. The hotel is very neat and clean and offers only breakfast. Only one person (great guy called Jassu) looks after all the needs of the guest and he does a great job. The location is quite convenient from sight seeing point of view with city palace, Bagore ki Haveli, Gangaur ghat very close by and Pichola lake right in front of you. The access to hotel from airport or bus stop is very narrow but then the whole charm is in its location, within the old city of Udaipur where the nobles once lived. We found a great place to eat (Hotel Rainbow) which is a roof top hotel, bang opposite to Raj Niwas, with amazing view of Pichola Lake, Lake Palace and Jagat Mandir. It is great to be at this hotel at sunset.

I stayed in "Raj Palace", which belongs to the same group as "Raj Niwas" and just 500m away from Raj Niwas. I was little skeptical since, I did not get an accommodation at Raj Niwas, but after staying at Raj Palace I have no regrets. The rooms were just the same (Maharani suite) with great interiors, cosy bed, spacious rooms and bathrooms and most important "very clean". The hotel was also very close to the city palace and many more sightseeing place, which was very comfortable. Touch expensive, but I would definitely come back to the hotel for it's nice rooms and great location.

If you are looking for a royal feeling in the almost in the lap of Lake Pichola then this is where you should stay. This lane has the coziest cafes to rest is to the boutique shops you may love to explore during your stay hence even when you are not visiting the palaces and want to just chill you have ample options. Coming to the Hotel, the place is highly maintained and the one man army who takes care of this property is Jassu. He is a person who can come to any of your help and is very handy. Though the place does not have a kitchen though it gives you both India and continental options to pick you in breakfast. Hence overall this place is highly recommendable.

Good location, Clean Room, All the prime tourist spots are very nearby including market .. Huge beautifully decorated room. Caretaker is Good, He makes sure that you don't feel uncomfortable. There is no room service .. But nearby so many restaurants are available ..

The top class room with great service. Excellent clean, high speed wi-fi connection, good amunities. All the prime tourist spots are very nearby including markets and restourants. We have really enjoyed our stay.

Raj niwas - the maharani suite is at the ground floor. It's a huge beautifully decorated room which is very clean and tidy. The care taker Jasda is very helpful and punctual. He makes sure that you don't feel uncomfortable. However, there is no arrangement of drinking water or power backup if there is an electricity failure. The owner should make sure to provide the basic necessities for the guests.

The hotel has only 3 rooms. Two Maharaja rooms and one Maharani rooms. View from all the rooms is pretty good. You can see the Lake Picholabfrom the rooms. City palace is 5 mins walking and AL the key things to do are a walkable distance from the room. Absolutely recommended in terms of location.

Location was good. But it was just a building with 3 rooms. No breakfast at that place we have to go to another building. Little far away for breakfast and no other facilities was available at that building.
