Houseboat is away from main hustle of Dal Lake which is very good in terms if you are staying for a relaxing holiday. Staff is very good, well maintained rooms. Food was great too. One can enjoy great sunset sipping tea in the open deck area.

The palce was nice and surrounded by Lotus garden. next to it are the snow mountains 😍. though it is a long shikara ride to the boat but totally worth it.

We booked this place after seiving through the reviews of many houseboats. We weren't expecting a lot but what we received was quite extraordinary. Located in the middle of the lake, surrounded by lotuses and water lilies this place was close to the kashmir we would like to experience. Over that the warm reception by bashir ji added to the charm of this place. The food was cooked in the simplest of kashmiri ways and tasted amazing. Also, to reach this place we had to waddle through many lakes which added to our excitement. In all we started with a lot of apprehension and left with our hearts full of happiness and respect for the place and the people there. It was a serene experience.

I was a bit sceptical about staying in a houseboat( first time stay) so had booked it just for one night but upon arriving at Jigar Palace houseboat all my fears about staying in a houseboat were gone - the houseboat was pretty neat and clean with well equipped rooms( as per houseboat standards) and the views were amazing😍 If you want to enjoy your stay in a peaceful, quiet place then this is one of the best houseboat to choose. The houseboat is managed by 3 people and they are very friendly, helpful and kind. They ensured that our stay was pleasant and we did not face any issues at all.

I have visited the valley many times and I have stayed in many houseboats but Jiger palace houseboat is the best ever I have stayed in. The staff there is very welcoming and helpful, they treat you like a family there. The food is great, no comments on the location because it's in the middle of dal lake need I say more. I will give 5 stars for the cleanness of the houseboat. This is the houseboat which can provide you shikara crossing at anytime of the night. I recommend this houseboat to everybody. I would like to thank makemytrip for making this visit to the valley so convenient.

Good place to stay for 2-3 days, good staff especially Imtiaz who goes the extra mile to make your stay extremely comfortable. Being a houseboat you cannot expect normal hotel type facilities but overall, it's a great experience. The view from the houseboat is mesmerising to say the least.

Great experience staying at Hotel Jigar. Rooms are big & luxurious, no less than any 5 star & the staff makes it even better. Beautiful property, just 5 minutes walk from the Dal Lake and Mughal Gardens. Nice houseboats near to gardens and Dal lake. Rooms are very beautiful. Amazing food, very nice and excellent staff.

Location: very far - good n bad in a way. Structure- good. Room is good but ceiling needs to be addressed. External dining hall is below average. Surrounding is good. Good peaceful stay.

New houseboat, washrooms were clean, right in the middle of dal lake, view was awesome. Only drawback was that dinner was not included in our package and they charged 700 per head for buffet with very limited choice.

Houseboat is well maintained, they even provided complimentary heating. Our host was very kind and co-operative. However there’s nothing much to do here. We reqched but early around 2 or 3 pm and got bored. Food is below average considering the charges they take. Also the lake newrby is not clean and doesn’t even feel like a lake. Overall average experience.

It was a pleasant stay. Staff (Bashir Bhai Jaan and his helper chotu) is good and helpful. This house boat is located at the back of the Dal Lake but you will not miss the view because the boat himself has a his beauty.

Pros : clean and pretty rooms, good hospitality, hot water in bathroom and hand wash area is available in the morning. Cons: the houseboat is bit far from ghat, and little isolated from other house boats, we were initially nervous, but the stay was comfortable. Wi-fi is available, but internet wasn’t working, so better keep your data packs intact. The rooms are pretty warm, heaters can be provided at extra cost, which will keep you warmer, but the staff doesn’t turn it on over night, so choose accordingly (although they turned it again in morning for sometime again when requested)

* jigar palace house boat is nearer to ghani no 14 * the location of this houseboat on google map is incorrect * it is situated very far from open dal lake or ghat * the view is also not good since there are a lot of dead lotus plants surrounding. * electricity is not available throughout the day hence they switch on the air conditioner ( heater) after 9 or 10 pm.
