Review Of Kashmir Houseboat

Food was below standard and inadequate. Few of the window panes were broken. It was too cold. There was no provision for the heating. There is no other escape route and it was really nightmarish. They gave only one hot water bag between 3 of us in night.

We have paid Rs 4749/- for a triple bed deluxe room/ Our expectation was the room have a TV & proper illumination in the room & toilet/ also warm room. As it was rated 4 Star category some minimum requirement should be provided to the Customer. How it was rated 4 **** !!!!. One TV is available in Lobby but the cable was not working as the cable recharge was not made by the owner. The illumination room was so poor that you feel it was guest room ( only two lights with low Watt ) also in Toilet there is one light with low watt. Even there is no plug available for recharge your mobile phone. One plug point was available but no connection. The third bed was not contain any blanket heater. The room had no room heater so it was extremely cold. It was a really bad experienced in Kashmir. It is not value for money & wastage of money.

Though the house boat is O.K the maintenance is very bad. Rest room is horrible. There is no privacy when you share with others. Hardly a servant was there to take care. But they are trying their level best to sell their other products, even upto night 9:45, lot of disturbance by local vendors.

Staff not helpful. They were very lazy and were not providing us with even the basic amenities. We had to keep asking them repeatedly and still they were not helpful. They were more focused on bringing in people who kept selling things. The minute we landed in the houseboat, we had not even sat down, they started sending in people who were selling handicrafts, saffron, flowers and what not..!! We spent entire time trying to get away from this people and enjoy the serene atmosphere the place was suposed to offer! food was very bad, rooms were not clean, even getting warm water to drink became a challenge with the hotel staff saying they had heated the water only to see it was as cold as ice!.

The hotel was good and the food was excellent. May be the area was little away from the center of the city like Dal lake. But wonderful.

It was far below our expectations.

Very Very nice hospitality, staff is very friendly and co-operative.

Good but only the thing is too many people will enter into the boat to do their business for example the kesar man will come to sell the kesar and shawls for sale and also the handicraft people will come to sell. The houseboat guys are linked with them. Rest of the things are very good
