We stayed at this property based in the reviews. The room was cozy with good blankets. The property was very neat and clean. Lack of privacy was evident as you could hear almost everything from neighbouring room and footsteps on the room above as it was wooden floor. You could hear anyone sitting in the common area from the room and could only have very light sleep due to this combined with sound from washroom of the neighboring room. The biggest turnoff was behaviour of the owners. They misinformed us that we could not go for trekking to lidderwat without any guide as local police would ask them if anything goes wrong. I checked with multiple locals in nearby cafes and restaurants about this and they confirmed that this wasn't the case. We could easily guess that the hotel owner was only asking us to take guide to earn extra money. So we avoided any further discussion on this topic and went to the trek anyway and came back safely in the evening. While we were returning one of the owner came running and asked if we went for trekking and we confirmed that we indeed went there. He was behaving as we needed his permission to trek. Btw there was no registration mandated from local authorities for trekking and no one was looking for anyone going for trek. In the evening later another owner again enquired my wife about the same and arguing that why we went without informing him. We found is very irritating that why they are making this an issue. We again confirmed with tma restaurant owner about this and he told us that no one can actually forbid us from trekking and definitely not the hotel owner. The next morning while we were going for breakfast the owner again started arguing why we went without a guide when he had asked me not to go. I asked him why is he making this an issue when there is no government guidelines on this one. We immediately checked out and left the hotel in the morning itself as we were feeling unsafe, intimidated and irritated. The whole time we stayed at this property we felt that we were being watched by the owner- he turned on all the lights outside whenever i used to go smoking in the garden outside, he was also sitting in the common area in front of our room as if he was keeping an eye on us. His behavior really made us uncomfortable as one could easily hear from outside. Also, the property doesn't have a kitchen but they were serving to a guest by ordering from another place. When we asked about why they're serving then but not us they seemed to avoid the conversation saying that they are only doing this because the guest are "too old" which wasn't the case. I'm deeply disappointed by their behavior. A very beautiful trek turned out to be a very irritating by the owner. The didn't had a sense of when and how to talk to guests. I also felt they were trying to intimidate by mentioning trouble.
